you're in the old downtown of Metro Manila that was mostly destroyed during WW2 and never fully rebuilt. The new downtowns are Makati (the CBD area, not Poblacion party district) and the newest downtown is BGC. Those two feel completely different from old Manila

Great video again....probably way too late but there are lots of Nike etc outlets in Manila or Cebu where you can get western sizes. I'm 48 too and got some Nikes for reasonable prices.

Hilarious video. My wife (filipina) and I went to Manila and other places in the Philippines in 2022. We toured Intramuros in the same sort of green tricycle and I took photos of that poor little horse with the big carriage and that Basilica as well. An interesting place. Coming from Sydney, I certainly thought initially a lot of things were shit but then you realise that's how it is, the locals are generally happy and you get on and enjoy the difference.

Dude, you're trying to find shoe size 48 in Asia?? That's US men's 15! Had a similar challenge in Japan, the largest any store carried was a 43 (USA men's 10), but yet, every Japanese shoe store carries size 38 (US men's size 6) and even smaller in the adult section.
Finding your shoe size - hard, so my Filipino wife, 4;8: and needs a shoe size less that a 5 U.S. not happening unless she gets a childs size. When we get back to Cebu, she always comes home with at lease 4 pair of shoes.
