@@LearnGuitarFavorites i know you said drop D tuning but are you also tuned down half a step? My guitar may just be naturally at a higher pitch or something but it just sounds a little different. But I can finally play it!

Another great tutorial, you should do a lesson on The Conversation by hank and waylon i cant seem to find the tabs anywhere.
I watch a lot of videos to shortcut figuring out the chords on my own. It's great, but what I've discovered is that I retain them much longer if I just sit down and figure them out myself. As beginners years ago, that was the only way we were able to do it. Subsequently, I can remember songs from 30 years ago better than one I just nailed down in 5 minutes last night. Not discrediting this channel by any means, if I didn't watch these I wouldn't be here to post! Just pointing out something from personal experience. AND, I'm a decent rythem guitar guy when I play pretty regular, but no showman for sure!
I agree that learning something on your own helps to remember them better!

Also the fill after a verse , is a hammer on and pull off on the third fret on 2nd string and pull off to an open repeat those two with the D major chord. It adds the Hank Williams feel to it.
In the intro, instead of moving the "D" shape up to the fifth fret, just play an "F". So the chord progression goes "D" "Am" "F" "D"

A HUGE LESSON he shows here many will not pick up on..
Note: Tuner and Capo not square atop the "Yamaha" logo on top of neck for a smart reason..
I have a Martin the clamping caused the logo to come off after time..
If you value your instrument,do not cover your logo with clamping accessories...lol..

Yes it is. If you drop D you have to play 5th fret 6th string.
