Correct me if I am wrong but your G Chord should be played on the 5th fret of the E string with A string muted and 3rd fret of the high E String. That will give you the sound of the original recording.
Hi Scott, hope you are keeping well. 9.11 riffing over the D chord was exactly what I have been searching for. You are the master of detail. The riffing makes the song. So many people leave it out.
I like to…and adding the other secondary riffs throughout as well.. My old 70’s 336SB GOLDEN for this..That middle finger popping out of the D gives it a desperation that one guitar can capture alone…The pinky of the fifth fret F makes it.. Never realized.. Two minds better than 1.. Salute..
You do a great job man, I've watched you for years, wish I could sit down with you and be taught, I could learn so much. Your very attentive and detail oriented. You go through EVERY note which is awesome, I have some bad habits on finger position taught to me years ago and it's really hard to break out of the muscle memory over years of playing, Thank you Scott!
@@groovydjs They help out tremendously, when you play the song back over and over and pick through it is gold. Good lesson. Thank you for the information. Although i thought the G chord was played on the 5th fret. What slide are you using??? I been wanting to get a slide like that.. Have a good day. 👍
Yeah, because of the alternate tuning that was actually used on this, I went with the easiest chords to teach it with, without having to detune. When playing a G chord, or D? If you have your e string dropped to D, and you play a g chord. Then it wouldn't be a g chord anymore. Because you are tuned down to D. Does this make sense to anyone else?
Four beats to a chord, randomised. The strumming is quite advanced if you have to ask. You move onto each chord very quickly so it’s impossible to have a set strum pattern. You have to force the next chord if you know that term. Strum with the words like a pulse. The song has a waltz type rhythm. One, two three..four.

I like how he called everyone that tabbed it with a g chord 'idiots'...hmmmm....being a bit of a dick
Especially since his version isnt exactly correct either lol

fantastic teacher
Thanks for this. I always know where to come to get it right.
Glad to help!
You are awesome
No, it's YOU that is awesome, thank you!
thank you brother for the lesson
Any time
The song is played in drop D
The G chord is incorrect. In drop D it played different, just ask Bocephus !
Yep, I was making it easier for beginners.
It's still a G just mute top string

Thank you
Awsome
Are you muting the low E string when you play the G with your middle finger?? Since it is tuned down?
Sure thing my friend. I gotta shut that puppy up. lol
Not supposed to mute top string, since it is a D note. Strum them all with a little power, Bocephus style.
Good little lesson nevertheless 👍
Thanks for the tips!

Scott is playing in drop D as the riff gives it away.
Do you tune down all 6 strings or just the low e (to d). Sorry I'm kinda a newb
Just tune your low e to d everything is the same
@@SthilGaming thank you!
Have you ever watched Hank play it live?
Yes, he uses a different tuning.
What's the strumming pattern

Thank you for calling that out. Sounds like crap with G chord
Please teach people to properly play the G and F chords when in drop D. Leaving out those low end notes just kills this song in my opinion.
An F chord is an F chord no matter where on the neck it's played.
Yep, it just matters if you want the root, 5ht or 3rd on the top, bottom or middle.
Yeah i think the strumming is still to fast for my beginner brain😂
