03:55 Nothing is photobashed in Dishonored 2 , the art director distinctly made a point of that. There might be 3D models the team did to paint on top, but thats as far as it went
That time of day's great for a Livestream here in the UK. Just when I get sat down after work. I was always a big fan of anything Capcom, mostly for the art. Think that'lll probably come through as I develop a style.
They did DLC for Dishonored 2, but there are only rumors from what I've heard about a 3rd (the story is mostly over) - Arcane Studios made Deathloop, which is kind of a spiritual successor to Dishonored with gameplay and design which I think the lead artists worked on as well. It has a funky 70's shooter/powers type that has some MGS like areas and other fancy places. I don't know if the Art of Deathloop book would be available still.
Holy shit I love this franchise, can't believe I'm you're doing a video on it. Hope to maybe see some more concept artists from this industry discussed on here
I'm going to check this out later when I get minute. Just a heads up in case you or anyone else is unaware as I was, but Charest is doing full interiors for Ambassadors #3, out a week from tomorrow. Pretty cool!
One of my favorite video game worlds. Thanks for giving this a look. Video game concept art is my original fascination with art. I recall seeing concept art for the first Dishonored prior to its release and thinking it looked like Half-Life 2 crossed with BioShock. Sure enough, Viktor Antonov, who was Art Director on Half-Life 2, worked as a Visual Designer on Dishonored 2. Great artists across the board though, and Dishonored’s visual direction stands on its own as one of the most well-realized in entertainment. They tend to use some concept art pieces in the game world as paintings on the walls in the environments, among others. I want to think that white ape painting is in the game somewhere. Always fun to see.
Came across this art book flip through video of the art of Scorn game. Pretty unique hybrid marriage of the styles of Giger and Beksinski. strong atmosphere and disturbing.
The Dishonred games were really solid from a gameplay perspective too which made exploring them from an artistic p.o.v all the more enjoyable. The environmental storytelling was fantastic.

Piotr was also working on a Polish video game set in the 1980’s. The art is great. The game is called medium. Supernatural exploration. Surrealism
Concept art for games is an awesome world, the level of imagination in the designs is insane.
totally agree. It's a huge source of inspiration for me!
Used to buy games based on the art, then never play them. I own this game, never played it😅
hahaha I totally do the same thing. It's easier for me to watch walkthroughs honestly.

You can visit a lot of these places in the game.

OMG Rich! This is my favorite fictional universe and agreed about the amazing artists!
This book is so good!
Thank you!!!!!!!!!
no worries. I am watching back right now myself. These artists are A-list all the way and it's so incredible and inspiring!
One of the best parts in the game, is looking at the paintings inside the rooms.

Prey from Arkane was also good
Rich, your comic creating process that you showed Kelsey would be interesting to see in a video.

Yup this is a great one! Lots of really inspiring work in this book. Might be my fav artbook of all time.
You would love also the 'Art of Prey' book, also from Arkane studios.
