I think Recoil was absolutely brilliant, far better than anything Depeche Mode ever did, apart from the songs Alan wrote when he was with them - The Landscape is Changing. Never rated Martin Gore, - I liked Get the Balance Right and that’s about it; unimpressed by their albums - never understood the fuss around Violator, I didn’t like it, or the nudity on the album sleeve, why did they think that would impress? Unsound Methods is brilliant, and Doug McCarthy a fantastic lead singer, he is on fire!! Incubus and Stalker are the music DM should have made - Alan did it on his own, and it shows his genius. I am a new fan of Recoil since last year, 2023, and I AM impressed with their albums, Alan’s, with collaboration from Doug McCarthy and various others. Atmospheric, almost short-film material. I love it. ❤xxxx

Sad to see Alan Wilder the main producer of Depeche Mode in small shows, and nothing huge. he is a master!!!! he should have created his own band, not a DJ project. SAD real SAD!!!!
it's not a DJ project, his strength has always been in production and arrangement, and this is the way people tend to present such things live. do you see turntables or cjds?
I miss Alan. I'm sure he's happy doing his own thing, but I'm totally selfish! I want Alan returned to the DM fold. Sure they've made some interesting albums, but it was never the same without him.
This is embarrassing to watch. Here we have the genius musician, that is Alan Wilder, prodding a laptop. Without him Depeche Mode would have been nothing. He did most of the production for them. Meanwhile, fletch claps (or used to) in the background. This is really sad. So are Depeche Mode since he left.
Alan was hired. Fletch started a band with Vince but also were friends with Martin since childhood. These three guys founded DM and later on Dave joined them. Sometimes friendship beats talent. As you said, really sad…

@@josee.n.3465 gracias por la recomendación aunque ciertamente escucho mucha música diferente además de la de Wilder, pero difícilmente mantengo mi mente anclada en un sólo tipo de música. Por cierto escuché a esos Gus Gus y déjame decirte que fue bastante mediocre y decepcionante la experiencia, tal vez deberías abrirte a otros estilos y no cerrarte sólo a la música electrónica. Hay muchas cosas más interesantes como Swans, Haus Arafna, Delia Derbyshire, BOC, Coil, Death In June qué tal vez podrías poner oído.
