- I recently plasti dipped my stock Toyota Supra wheels. After driving them for a bit in the winter with, snow, salt, dirt and more I wanted to provide an update on my thoughts.

Poor Maya lol. I remember plasti-dipping my stock LSJ wheels black back in the day. It made a big difference! But on my LNF, I had them painted black and it looked so much better and lasted way longer. Plus they were way easier to clean.
Yeah it seems like the more you’re able to do it, the better you get. And with that, better results

I use to have a 2007 Mustang w/Plasti-Dipped Rims. There is a product you can get from plasti-dip called ADP I think. They make their own cleaning material for Plasti-dip.

Still can’t believe how good those wheels came out looking. I had my jeep wheels plasti dipped to protect em and took it off when I could never get them cleaned right.

If you want to get your wheels clean now that there coated in plasti dip this stuff called "plasti dip remover" works really well especially when you scrub them down after you spray them with these new cleaning rags called "steel wool"

ive only used plastidip on wheels one time. it was probably a combination of temperature and bad surface prep. but it didnt hold well at all. ive spray painted a few sets of wheels and its always come out a lot better. i think the problem i have with plastidip is i know it isnt permanent, so i dont take the time to do it right.

You can reinforce the plastidip with some ceramic or graphene coating. It will be much easier to clean and stay scratch free for long.
calipers would look good white or blue with that wheel color also. i use the foam cannon from jax wax hooks right up to the hose.

Recently got a 2018 white Honda Civic sport hatch and I think I’m going to do the wheels white with dip to test the waters!
100% worth doing to test the waters! Got white dip in my description if you’re interested in taking a peak! It’s a good way to see how things look, doesn’t take much time, and doesn’t break the bank.

I bought some dipped rx-8 wheels that looked alright until I removed the dip. It hid so many crimes. Most of the wheels look like they lived against the curb and a few had deep scratches. So for wheels that need love on the cheap, that did the trick.

I thought I was getting my emblems vinyl wrapped but turns out they dipped them. So far they have held up.

i think you gotta either use the plasti dip cleaner on matte colors if you gloss them i think you should be able to clean them like normal paint im not 100% sure tho

Personally I find cleaning my car super meditative so I clean mine with an old soft bristle tooth brush. Haven’t done this with dip so not sure if it’ll pull it off but just a possible option

I bought some used Evo X wheels that were dipped as track wheels. My gosh, worst thing to remove ever.
Yes, if not done properly it can be a nightmare and I’ve dealt with that too. There is some things you can do to help with a poor application job
I actually bought some dipped evo wheels a while back too, I used some stuff called DipYourCar Dip Dissolver, stuff worked absolute magic lol
@@coleharmening yeah I used the dissolver from plastidip and it was still a massive pain even with my pressure washer.

Do Round 2 but before you go into the wash bay soak them in wheel cleaner? Might work, just have to carry it on you lol.
Bruh I feel this one, my wheels aren't plasti-dipped or anything but they're cheaper Enkei Onx, everytime I get a new wheel cleaner I'm paranoid it'll kill the finish 😂 absolutely legend getting out of the car again.
Btw suggestion for stream snack: my mother got us all Mamba fruit sticks for Christmas, it's like a gummy stick kinda like the inside of the williwonka ropes. They're decent, 4 flavors, I'd give it a C or a B probably

I go to the car wash late at night with a bucket of car soap and some microfibers. Just use the self serve bay and wash by hand for the best results. 😎👍
That’s the way to do it. Problem is it gets cold af at night here!

Ceramic coat them before they get dirty and they stay clean. They are roached now. Redip next winter.
Try meguiars hot wheels that shit cleans wheels great it eats brake dust pretty good but still requires some scrubbing and I think you should plasti dip the whole car get the kit from dip your car and do it I think it would be a great video idea

I can’t use plastidip, sure I was acquitted, but still don’t wanna tempt fate. Plus my car is totaled, nothing to do with plastidip, just throwin it in there. Life….am I right.
I don’t know what’s worse a newspaper window cleaning or a random scrubbing the grime in deeper so my clear coat.

I’d say overall no. It’s a good temporary thing, but not a forever or extended time thing. It gets dirty, hard to clean, and when you decide to remove even if you did a good job overspray gets in spots and it’s a pain. If you want to change up how your stock wheels or something look and are bored, go for it.

Zero touch car washes suck they never clean black i have a black charger and it cost 18 bucks here and the one where you do it yourself with the brush and pressure washers wand is 6$ self serve never fails you can get in all those little nooks and crannies no problem the only plastidip i have is on my badges

From my experience with plastidip brake dust can build up in the corners and almost bake the dip onto the wheels. Id say use a diluted degreaser to clean them. Just dont let it sit for too long or it might soften the dip

Next time you head to the car wash remember to bring some body wash and shampoo while you're at it. Get that moneys worth. Clean car and clean body
