Throttlestop s pretty unreal, saw me peering in the windows as a teen and gave me and a buddy a tour of all their warehouses.

CONGRATS on the “new to you” car! I’m from Cleveland and drive Lexus IS350 AWD and as enticing as a RWD sports car with winter tires seems a sporty AWD car gives you the sporty feel without the fear of getting stuck in the frozen hell we’ve experienced 🥶
AWD is definitely another animal and deserves the hype it gets!
I used to have a 2016 Golf R, amazing car but the manual wasn't it for me, switched to a 2020 Miata (manual) and it's more enjoyable, but I'm really missing the comfort and build quality.

Im a vw fan, first time to the channel
Saw the silhouette and thought gti, unmistakeable and was exited…not a lot of vw love on the TH-cam
As I watched the video and heard 4wheel drive I said EVEN BETER…got the pirate version vw ARGH!

Nice to see some Golf R content. I love my 2018 just a few bolt ons and a hybird turbo im pushing 450hp to the wheels and its still a great daily

Once a vw lover always a vw lover. My mk7 gti has been my favorite car I’ve ever owned.
We bought one and never stopped.. VW is the only brand we have consistently got cars from and I think that says a lot. They have a charm to em. Mk7 Gti’s are great cars! We were looking at those too
That's a nice pick up! Just a warning the spark plugs suck to replace. Nothing for a VW Boi like yourself though :P I miss my MK7 GTI somedays, but FWD isn't as fun as AWD

I don't think I could go back to FWD for a daily anymore so it's a very good choice!
Great car @dakota!! I bought a car (Skoda Octavia VRS) with the same engine ( some minor tweaks in the R though) and it's amazing! With a stage 2 + downpipe and full exhaust, a cold air intake and some other hardware mods it's pushing 355 hp and 520 nm torque, great fun and reliable engines, EA888 are beasts.
That’s so dope. I honestly don’t know a single thing about Skodas. I’m going to have to check em out!

Picked this car up last year, upgraded from my 1st gen speed3 and holy shit has it become such an awesome daily and stage 2 tune has put it over the top. Congrats and enjoy!

I feel you on the snow. I live in rochester ny. We usually get 6 foot our first snow. Though this and last year has been mostly 40° instead of 8° f with windchill of -39° (not exaggerating).

Love it. Been fighting the urge to upgrade my GTI for an R 😅. Prices are becoming reasonable. You should look into the screen upgrade to the bigger one.
One thing we wanted was the navigation package, but this one checked every other box. Honestly, so far we don’t mind this one! Does everything we need

I was between this and my 4runner. definitely glad I have the runner, but this would be my daily of choice. hopefully sooner rather than later!
Your 4runner is perfect and I’d be lying if we didn’t throw that name around a bit. Ultimately, being car folk the R made the most sense. Either is a great choice, having both is goals!

In its stock form, it's already an excellent car and the best daily driver in my opinion. Now if you tune it and do some basic mods, it becomes a whole other animal, you get a lot of car for the money

I feel your pain, I have to drive my rwd sports sedan this winter as my winter car has a leaking broken brake line and fuel filter rusted and started leaking too. Didn’t get time to fix it yet. Thankfully we haven’t gotten much snow here in SE MN I don’t have winter tires either! All season run flats! 360 crank hp 3300 lbs Cadillac.

Make sure to get the transmission, haldex, and both diffs fluids changed.

@DakotaStone also important with the haldex, pull the pump and clean the filter. Most of the 3 letter websites have kits with new seals and mounting bolts.
