To me the first Mummy was really the be all and end all of a great all round movie. As soon as the characters got more serious (plus there was no Benny who was a unique mix of slimy villain and humorous) it was all over. I do agree that an adventure movie for it to be successful, should be fun by keeping the stories fresh, always new and exciting instead of rehashing previous antics is where I think the movie franchise failed.
Besides only getting a Mummy returns sequel. We should have a Mummy returns Prequel series About Rick’s life growing up as an orphan in Cairo Egypt and why did he ended up there in the first place and what happened to his parents, and Also how he met both Izzy and Benny.
If there will be The Mummy 4: Rise of the Aztecs, the setting for that movie should be changed to the 1950s or 1960s, given how old Brenden Fraser is now.
It's so silly that people hate a movie because they read a character exactly as he's written. Alex was meant to be difficult and memorable. So people didn't like him because he was difficult and memorable??!? With today's film-making, anybody can do action. See Christopher Lee at 90 something, kicking Nazgul butts in "the Hobbit", when all he had to do is the voice and occasional face.

After the war He takes part in a secret op to hunt down fleeing nazis in South America and they stumbled Apon Eldorado wile evie and alex are with there team on a archeological expedition and they run into each other. The nazis last hope for avengeing there loss is a tablet the sun gods have hidden in the city that controls the weather and they want to use it as a weapon against the allied powers. However, it is guarded by a curse and if disturbed would resurect a aztec priest who was the guardian of the tablet with mistical powers given to him by the gods to protect it. Rick and the gang attempt to stop them but its to late and the guardian rises from the grave and begins killing everyone in his path. A SS officer/ scientist immediately regrets his actions and teams up with our heros to try and stop him but in the mean time the guardian resurrected numerous warriors to hunt everyone down wile he himself sets to perform a ritual to bring about the apocalypse with the tablet during this time with the gate of the under world being open imotept escapes and finds himself in the city of gold confused by where he is and runs into rick and picks a fight during this time evi and alex intervine and tell imotept whatbis about to happen and he tells them he knows of this gurdian and that he was a preist like him when he was alive and was given the job of protecting the tablet but he was not whonhe seemed that he had his own plans to destroy the world and he will destroy everything in his path but he does not care and seeks revenge but out of nowhere Johnathan drops in with ardeth via parchute on him knocking him out and everyone greets each other and ardeth and explain they got evis message to come help them in case something went wrong knowing of the curses there and when ardeth sees imotept he draws his sword and gos to strike him but evi stops him when everyone asks why imotept awkwardly wakes up from a flash back of anuck sa mu leaving him to die in amshare with tears in his eyes. Evi tells him i saw your vision and i understand you now you suffered a horrible fate and did terrible things killing my father in a past life to everything you did to now it was all for love and she betrayed you. But now you need to let go of her and redeem yourself or suffer the fate you have been help us defeat this evil we face you have abilities we do not. He sighs and stands up and extends his hand to rick and looks around says he is sorry for everything and wishes he could change what had happend but it was too late for him he will help and maybe the gods will see fit to alow him to rest in peace. But as they go to find the guardian the ss officer pulls out his pistol and holds it to his head and threatened to kill him if he does not come with him because he alone could bring forth the revenge germany seeks but before he can act imotept telports behind him and stabs him looks at him and says only i decide my fate and throws him over a cliff. Looks at rick and smiles. he says not bad..so.they all band together and find the gurdian im the temple and attacking him but he casts spells and fights them off ardeth attempts to stab him but is hit with a spell and is killed instantly rick sees this and unloads his shotgun in rage but to no avail jonthan meanwile grabs the tablet and runs out but is stopped by the guards he cracks a joke and drops it and runs evi grabs it and throws it to alex and tells him to read the first inscription he does and it begins to glow and then he points it at the guards and they evaporate he gos to point it at the priest but imotept hrabs it and tells him no it wont work it will give him more power then the guardian grabs imotept by the neck and says why are you helping these mortals they serve you nothing but anguish for this you will be sent back to hell and before he can kill him he stabbed by non other than anuck sa na mun. He drops him and pulls the blade out confused imotept looks at her and she says im sorry for leaving you when you sacrificed so much for me and when you needed me most and kisses him and tells him she loves him then the preist yells and lets out lighting and shocks everyone then he begins to read and the ground starts to shake he say to everyone say goodbye to this world and prepair for oblivion rick and imotept look at each other and say lets get him thwy attack then anuck and evi look at each other and say to one another we must help them they hug it out and go imotept punches him and rick shoots evi grabs the tablet and anuck covers her and throws a knofe at the priest and hits him evi begins to read and the preist yells nooooooo imotept stabs hims in the chest he drops and rick stands over him and says im so sick of all these dam mummies and shoots him and he explodes. Then the tablet starts to fall apart and disingrates. Everyone celbrates hugs etc and go over to ardeth and all say a few words about him then his spirt appears and he says dont worry my friends i will be fine but you must get out of here before you are trapped rick looks at him and says stay out of trouble then he vanished, then a light flashing in temple stops everyone and then a sun god appears and tells them they had no business disturbing the city but thank them for what they all have done that the priest will be punished for his actions and a new gurdian will be put there and will grant them a request they all start to think when they look over at imotept and anuck kissing and sobbing as they start to disingrate. The gate to the other world is closing and they can no longer remain in the living world rick looks at evi and they both say that they wish for imotept and anuck sa na mun to be granted access to heaven together to rest in peace the sun god looks puzzled and says they are not deserving due to there actions in the past but they tell they helped to stop the priest and where sorry for there crimes that it was for there love that they did it he looks at them and sees that it is true and says very well a flash appears and he dissappears. Imotept and anuck look at everyone and say why would you do that after everything we have done. Rick and eve say because everyone deserves a second chance. Imotept shakes ricks hand and evi hugs anuck and says looks like i wont have to watch my back anymore she replys no but i will always watch mine nefiteri thank you rick says to imotept ill be seeing you again and imotept replys i will be looking forward to it and they both dissappear. Jonathan says well another adventure gone and after all that we are going empty handed then he sees that the next room is filled with gold and the city is all gold and says couldnt we just and everyone yells noo.....
