After I retired I worked as a camp host/manager at a very rural camp geared to groups for 2 years. Then 1 year at ocean front camp, all the same county. Paid 350 a month, plus free spot and free electric. Loved every minute of it. Both were year round. The rural park? 7 months of the year it was just me with my white lab, no visitors, acted as security. Second camp? Same except very small amount of campers during end of October thru May.
All good ideas. And some great advice. Some friends of ours worked as camp grounds helpers in New Mexico, Idaho, and Alaska. All places they loved to go anyway. They both said they were a little apprehensive getting started, but quickly fell in love with it. Not hard work, they usually got to stay for free, and they were gonna be there anyway. Y'all keep up the great work. God bless y'all and stay safe on your travels.
These were very interesting suggestions, and some we have not heard of! We have our very first Camp Host Gig starting June 1st. We are looking forward to it. - Michelle
Did Camp Host last summer. Was supposed to only be 3 months (their trial period) enjoyed it and ask to extend 2 more months. Just a fact the people you work with will make the difference.
I used to follow the Berthunes.(hope I spelled that right) He went to (I think) Minnesota for beet harvest. He's quite a bit younger than you guys & me. He couldn't hack it. I think he lasted 3 days.
I literally apply for remote customer service representative positions all the time. They’re really hard to get into these days. Does anyone know any sites that hires pretty quickly? Also love this video, thank you for the tips 😉
@@todayissomeday me USAF. 4 yrs Wife 4 yrs USAF. ,, 3 yrs active Reserves,,, 26 yrs USCG. 33 YRS TOTAL SERVICE. We travel with a Northstar 8.5 Arrow. We live out west, and all family is in Missouri, Tennessee and Ohio, and Norfolk, Virginia. Needless to say, when we go to visit family members, it's at least a 3 day drive just to Missouri. Even more to the east coast. We just love the freedom our truck camper gives us. We are always asked to stay in guest rooms, but we always politely decline. We love waking up and having our morning routine all to ourselves.
Hand Salute. Stacy did 5 years active. We actually met when we were both stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. We do the same when we visit family. We bring our house for a reason. :)
One I don't recall seeing was traveling nurse. There are many health care jobs out there. Can I get paid for watching watching TH-cam channels and criticizing them?😂😂
Greet videos. My question is, you sell your home, live in a depreciation hog, this lifestyle isn’t sustainable for ever. What are your plans into your 70s-80s? No house any longer ect.
Great question. The money from the sale of our house went into the bank, not into the RV and the RV is paid for. We have no plan to stop RVing anytime soon. My retirement pay comes in every month. We will buy another place someday....see what I did there? LOL As long as you have a budget and can stick with it, you should be fine. No different than living in a house with a mortgage and bills.
@@todayissomeday understood thanks. No one seems to talk about this fact of life called aging and living full time in an RV. We will be buying our first, wife was supposed to retire last year, Florida changed law for govt. employees in pension scheme and she can stay another three years. She stayed for pension pot but is feeling trapped. From watching your videos it made us buckle down and problem solve, we came to a solution. I travel for work, I am only in three cities maximum and I can usually pick where i want to be. Wife could quit I stay working at my cushy career, we have RV in city I am working. Keep our FL house and have an RV. I believe we decided on a 5th wheel over a class A. Two problems down hundreds more to come up lol
Best job ever has been working for Yellowstone General Stores. I have been 3 years and hope to go back for many years to come.

Great information! Thanks for the video. Phil, you’re just a youngster remember you’re as young as you feel. I could do that Apple job!

I’m Jack and Dee’s granddaughter and watching your videos make me want to just pack the family up and go!
Nice tips
Thank you Stacy since I am still struggling to find a job.
You guys are awesome.
Thank you!
@@todayissomeday Phil is so funny. My wife and I are leaving tomorrow on a 40 day trip. Always watching your videos.
Thank you so much.
When I get ready to retire, I’d like to fit in doing a Training class or two. A part-time Virtual Assistant job would be right up my alley too.
Go for it! You have the experience for sure.
Thank you. 👋☺️
You’re welcome 😊
This was good info
Great tips.
Glad it was helpful!
Has anyone heard of full timers being a storm chaser insurance adjuster?
You would need to turn the sugar down since they have those beets.

We did hear it was long, hard work.
Can’t wait to UN PLUG tomorrow 😂
I retired not to work!🤣
I kept trying to scratch the dirt off of my screen. It was your cursor on your screenshots.😂
Yes, she did have the cursor on the page. Rookie move. LOL
The jobs link won't open on my phone. Can you share it again here in the comments, please? :)
I have never had a good host job, and if you're injured they don't know you. Been stiffed every time.
That is unfortunate.

Sorry to hear that
@@todayissomeday thank you for your empathy. I really believe it’s about who you know to get a job these days.
Stacy, once Beefcake Phil’s shoulder is fixed, are you gonna make him go back to dancing to earn his keep?
Hmmm! LOL
Well, there is another RV couple doing a certain kind of media that makes them money, but we won't list that option here! ... (lol).
I’m currently in San Antonio, looking for a reliable RV Tech for my water heater AND is there a mobile State Inspection Service in San Antonio?
Check out the NRVTA locator to find a tech. We do not know of any mobile inspection stations in the area.
@@todayissomeday Thank you!
Where did you find your virtual assistant?
Through the Escapees Job board.
@@todayissomeday Thank you so much!

That is awesome. Having a plan is key. We did talk about an exit plan in a video a few years back. We know it will happen......someday.
I paused your video, the very second you said "watch till the very end" so I could type this comment, then I closed it!!!
Many videos do that as it gives weight to the content.
