As someone who has been over the road for 5 years at 23 years old- I can’t go smaller than a 45’ diesel pusher.. I love the dishwasher, washer dryer stacker units… I love the big tanks… and the living space in the front with the bedroom in the back. We also have to have a bath and a half as we have found it’s amazing! So needless to say- I am spoiled also!

Last year, we downsized from a Newmar Bay Star (gasser, 33', no washer/dryer) to a 2015 Winnebago Via (25' class A on Springer chassis) that is very similar to a lot of the Views with rear twin beds and a small (sofa) slide-out right behind the captain's chairs. We loved the size of our Bay Star, but as I'm no longer 73, I was ready to downsize to a rig that is more comfortable to drive, especially in construction zones and a bit more fuel efficient. We don't do as many longer trips anymore, so most of our trips our from 3 nights to a week or so, and hopefully we'll take some longer trips if some health issues allow. Bottom line, we've adapted and are enjoying the Via. Towing a car, we get 12-14 mpg and as you mentioned, it's so easy to find a campsite. We usually have full hook-ups, but we just did two nights with only electric and we made out fine. But, I totally agree that what size and type of rig works for one camper doesn't work for others. Having RVing since 1988, the most important point is to enjoy whatever rig you can afford and just make some memories. Our best memories are camping with our boys in pop-up trailers. We didn't have much space or many amenities, but we did some exploring and had so much fun and on a "beer budget"!

I just can not believe it has been since 2017 !!! Crazy to realize that much time has gone by. I have watched u 2 since day one. I feel I am a Tiffin Girl all the way. I also want the space I am an early morning chick for sure. Hubby not so much. The smaller ones seem really nice… but I love my space.
Thank u for all u do for us. Excellent review ! Great job..

We bought a Winnebago 2024 D a year ago. For 7 years prior we had a 35’ 5th wheel. We travel for 3-4 months straight in the summer every year. We definitely had to take a lot less “stuff”, but we loved it. So easy to drive, park, find campsites, and fuel. Almost 70 years old, so expect we will have this unit till we have to quit RVing….which we hope will be another 10 years….

We have an '18 33aa with a washer and dryer that my wife wouldn't live without. This has been our 5th summer spending over 3 months RVing on the Oregon Coast to beat the Vegas heat. We love our RV, feel totally comfortable, and are not at all cramped. Next summer, it's off to Alaska with a tour group. Can't wait!

We - hubby and I and two dogs - went from a 21 foot travel trailer to a 28 foot Class C motorhome with the Jeep towed behind. The Class C allows me to take my kitchen with me, but is small enough to fit into some of the older, smaller state parks that we love.
No washer or drier - not an issue. Finding a gas station that we can maneuver into and out of - sometimes an issue. In fact, we have some stories to share about gas stations! Just let me say this - I love "adventures" - hubby doesn't!
Full-timing RVers now for 7 years - hoping for many more. From a couple married 58 years and hoping for many more.

Great info...as always. My wife and I are not full-timers (we did that years ago aboard our sailing vessel, Pacific Dream). Land yachting was never in our plans. But when one of my doctors asked if he could put me on two more meds in addition to the two he already prescribed, I balked. Instead, I told him that Judy and I would buy one large pill bottle, roll it down the road until my lungs got happy and park it there. Hence, land yachting entered our life. Our vessel of choice is a 40-foot Beaver Monterey, Class A that we absolutely love. We don't travel far - the Oregon Coast - a mere four-hour drive from our Central Oregon home, where we spend two to three months a year, and indulge my fascination for nature photography. (Nope, I don't sell my work, but I do put on the occasional show). What do we like about the Beav? Space, room separation, ease of living, travel comfort, storage and exquisite workmanship. Would we consider down-sizing? No. Our style of RVing doesn't require finding places that can accommodate our rig. In fact, we pretty much stay at the same resort. Boring? Not at all! Hey, when our original RV (double-headed sloop) blazed along at a brisk 6-knots, all we had to find was a place to drop the hook. Now we park on a concrete pad trimmed with a beautiful privet hedge. The Beav is our second home. Thanks for all you do to make RVing the fascinating lifestyle it is. Well done!

We have a Tiffin Allegro Breeze 28BR. This is our 4th RV. It is a diesel pusher with air ride and leveling along with most of the larger 2012 Tiffin DP options. It has two doors separating bedroom from living room. It is 29 1/2 feet, allowing to fit in many smaller sites. We are very happy with our coach.

My wife and I recently sold our home and started our full time adventure. We work remotely and try to move every 1 to two weeks. We currently have a 2024 Grand Surveyor 267RBSS travel trailer. At 31’ long, we haven’t had issues finding sites that work. We tow it with a 2023 Ram 2500 diesel. We have a cap on the truck as I would feel naked without a good variety of tools.
Pros of our set up include maneuverability, we like the layout of the trailer. We have not found ourselves lacking for anything. We did downsize A LOT but less is more for us. Ive made many mods on our rig to make it better for us.
Cons, we have had things break on the trailer. I have fixed all of them and made them stronger than before. We wish we had gotten a trailer with a higher payload. We don’t feel lacking but we do try to get rid of something if we buy something new to keep the weight in check.
We always love your videos. We hope ours improve over time and offer inspiration and help to others as they follow their dreams.

Hi - we have been full time in our Tiffin 2019 Open Road 38’ gas model LA36 for 6 years now. We have enjoyed our motorhome and I know we couldn’t be full time in a smaller rig. We also like our separation of living space. I’m like Phil an onboard washer/dryer is a must have. We aren’t sure how much longer we can continue full time as we are getting older, but so far we continue to enjoy our life style. Happy travels everyone!! ❤

We just went from a 2019 Tiffin Wayfarer TW to a 2022 Tiffin 36SH. The main reason is that my wife works and we are on different sleep schedules. She would set up her computer and monitor in the bedroom and take it down and set it up in the salon and take it down. That really got old. The nice thing on the Wayfarer was the twin beds that can be made into a king. The "separation" thing is important. We live in Bozeman and the RV is parked in our driveway all summer, as there's no better place to be. We leave in September or October and go out for 3 months, store it in Texas or AZ and drive the pickup home. We then go out in February for 2 - 3 months and bring it home to BZN. We get along just fine, but having alittle space is a good thing. With the 36SH she can just leave her stuff set up when we're parked and not have to worr about it. We've only been on one trip and that was bringing it home from Mesa, AZ. The first "real" trip starts next Wednesday, 9/25/24, with a 3 month adventure. Using the washer and dryer will be an experience.

We are in a '22 Winnebago EKKO. We travel using HH, free/almost free parking and friends or family stops. Love the 640 amps battery capacity, cassette toilet(dump any toilet), solar. Park in most any parking spot, gas not diesel, 12-14 mpg, all wheel, cozy at -9 degs, 12v fridge, gear garage for bikes and much more stuff. Instant hot water, 2 refillable 20 lb propane tanks, second alternator under hood to change batteries, so don't need to plug in or need generator. Beds are very comfortable. Easy/comfortable to drive. Hate/never used stove(carry portable induction). Have not found anything yet that fits us better. Not full time. About 1-2 weeks a month travel.

I have a 2003 Fleetwood 39’ 4-slide Diesel pusher. We’ve had it for 7 yrs and we are selling, although it is a beautiful RV and is sooo spacious we are looking for something smaller, the laundry machine is wonderful and if we still went for long periods I’d say absolutely worth having, just for the convenience, We only go occasionally and really it’s just the 2 of us. So for the sake of weekend camping we are looking for a simple trailer 25’ to pull with our truck. It’ll be an adjustment, we’ve had a Class C and now an A and we are used to just popping up to use the bathroom or getting a snack, lol. But I truly have enjoyed having my Diesel pusher. So much luxury.

We are driving a Winnebago 24 ft.View with the corner bed. We are 1/2 time and have 77,000 miles on it. We have been to Alaska on one coast and PEI on the other coast. We never stay more than 3 days anywhere so we move fast. Our 24 ft works for us because we can park pretty much anywhere like you said. We do not have a toad and have rented a car in the Keys and San Antonio. Also we have used Uber. We do carry bikes with us. I am an early riser and just pull the curtain on the corner bed to have separation. We do a lot of dry camping and have never had issues with our tanks. Parking at trail heads can be a problem but we arrive very early to park and then have our breakfast. I would love a washer and dryer. If I were full time I can imagine I would want more space. Ours works for the 6-7 months a year we are in it. We really enjoy your videos.

We have a class A Allegro Openroad 28'. It has an awesome floor plan, separate sleeping area with walk around bed, separate shower, toilet/bathroom. Don't miss the waher/dryer, prefer to have that space for storage. The length makes it easier to find camp sites and also "stealth camp" to some degree. We do have a toad so mobility once set up is not an issue.

Having had RV's since the mid 70's with my husband and now a widow, I have a 2022 Tiffin Wayfarer 25 RW. It is perfect for me and my 59 lb. Labradoodle. It is so easy to set up, park and can just about go anywhere. I call it my "motel on wheels". For me, it is the perfect size. Having to deal with a larger RV at my age would not be easy and I feel very comfortable with the Wayfarer. Being 78, and still able to travel is very important to me. Have had several Itasca's over the years, but the Wayfarer had all I needed. Just hard learning all the bells and whistles is sometimes daunting. I do think the 3500 MB chassic on many smaller RV's is a plus. My attitude is, the things inside can break, but as long as the engine gets me where I need to be is a comfort.

I started with a 27 foot Class C (I am solo with 2, soon to be 3) small dogs. I learned pretty quickly it was the wrong floor plan for me. It had a corner kitchen and was dark and the bedroom had a slide with a folded mattress which was terrible for dry camping at Cracker Barrel or wherever I spent a night during travel days. I kept it 2 years and in May of this year, found the perfect floor plan for me. I was choosing between a rig 27 feet with a Murphy bed, good closets and a washer/dryer and a 33 foot with an inline kitchen, televator, huge kitchen counter space, power recliners, N/S bed with fantastic closet space and a split bath. The bedroom slide is a closet. With the big slide out in front, it feels more like a cottage than an rv. This is the perfect floor plan for me. I travel about 6 months of the year.

Full timers need room in their RVs. We stayed in our small trailer for 6 months in an RV Resort while we saved money to buy a home, which we did. Our friends we met that also lived at the RV resort upgraded from a trailer bigger than ours, for a nice large 5th wheel. I am so happy for them, it is so nice, especially because they want to live that way

Your viewers are probably interested in motorhomes mostly, but some might be interested in our downsize.
We downsized from a 32' fifth wheel to a 25' travel trailer. When we started reducing the amount of stuff we had in the fiver, we realized that much of that stuff was really not necessary for us, because we are not full timers. It's just my wife and I, so this floor plan in the trailer is amazingly roomy for such a small one.
It's 3000 lbs lighter and much easier to get into smaller sites, less worry when towing in the mountains, and there's not so much worry about low underpasses. The trailer is less than 11' high. One other thing I did is to add a truck topper to the pickup, so now I have great space in the bed for a lot of gear.
All in all, I am very happy with the smaller rig.

My wife and me looked for literally 2 years before we bought our first travel trailer. We had made a list of our must haves, etc. After having it for 2 years we decided that we needed something with a little more room. We now have a fifth wheel and have been living in it full time for the last 2 1/2 years. So your right you may think you know what you want, but until you actually get in it and use it for a while, your wants and don’t wants will change. We are very happy with our fifth wheel now.

We recently purchased a Leprachaun 230FS on a Chevy 3500. This RV is just shy fo 26'. It has a full wall slide out. There is a U shaped dinette that I would rather have a couch in place of. Other than that, it is very easy to drive/park/set up. Fits our needs. We do not full time. We do tow a boat with it. The gas mileage is just about the same as pulling the boat with our Tundra. This surprised us a ton.

After a lifetime of RV adventures (since I was 5 years old), we finally have the perfect RV for us. It's a Coach House 271, just under 28 feet. #1 I can drive it so my husband isn't doing all the driving. #2 It has permanent twin beds in the rear which is enough separation for us. #3 Well built, fiberglass shell means more worry free travel. It is smaller than we've had in the past but we figured it out, bought a Maverick to haul and we put larger items in the truck bed. And like moving from a house to an RV, once you figure out what you really need, you don't miss all the other stuff.

We are nearing the end of seven years in a 22’ Airstream Bambi. Three winters we lived in it for 4.5 months while we work/camped. We love it. If cost was no issue, we would go up to a 25’. But, there are pluses and minuses of both size (still small by Ruby measures). We like that it is so tiny we can fit almost anywhere. It is easy to tow. We are not working in our RV so we don’t need space for computers and other work equipment. Airstream does have models that are larger with a designated workspace. Pros: quality, iconic design, excellent resale value, good storage for the size, nice small kitchen area and full bath. Cons: I wouldn’t recommend for people with very different schedules (again there are larger models with more division of space), no room for Phil’s recliner, the refrigerator is tiny which makes long term living more difficult and a trip to the grocery store at least once a week, no space for guests, repairs are a little more challenging as there are not as many RV service centers that work on Airstreams. All in all I wouldn’t trade it, except for maybe the 25’.

2023 Tiffin Allegro Bay 38AB. Ideal for us. We loved the layout. Your video on this unit was when we saw it first and began learning more about it. We had thought Class A before but we liked several things about this one. The living space was big. The dual workstation spots in place of the dinette, since we both work. 3 doors so we don’t lock ourselves out, or in, as we hear about online so much. Towing 12,000 pounds was a plus for us. Slightly more aerodynamic than a Class A. And a biggie is roadside serviceability if needed. We look at other rigs all the time just out of curiosity but we have not found one at any price point that beats our floor plans for us! Very glad you shared that early video of the Allegro Bay, even though you didn’t seem to love it yourselves.

We have a 2022 Forest River Georgetown GT7 (36K7). This motorhome is 40 foot long and as you guys have indicated we bought for the floor plan. We have kids and bought this with the intention of them going with us more. They are a little older and don’t really travel with us as much as we would have thought. As it turns out we use the bunk area as extra storage and put our dog crate in there. It has been working out wonderful. We are not full time (at this moment), although we would like to be in it more than we are now. Like you guys, we like to have the door to the master bedroom as I am working full time and need to get up earlier too. We didn’t realize how much we like the 2 full baths (even though the second shower is a bit much). You give great advice when you say to try things out and look for the floor plan that works best for your needs. There seems to be a lot of people that won’t look at this brand or that brand because of the ‘issues’ they have had. Well, the truth of the matter is they are all RVs and you will run into something with every brand. Pick something that works for YOU! Phil, I am totally with you on the TECH… I love the fact that I can operate my slides from my phone. It is so nice during setup and breakdown. Let along monitor the tanks from anywhere (near) the motorhome. :). Enjoyed the video and you guys, if you are looking for something new I hope you find it!

We definitively love our home, I am still working full time as a programmer and when we were looking a few years ago(2022) post covid, here in Québec, the availability was very low. We also have a Tiffin 33aa, 2019. YES - we love our washer and dryer! When we first bought the Moose (our Tiffin), lightly used, we thought the WD was a nice indulgence. Now, it has become a wonderful convenience and a necessity to us for long term travel. It does feel like home, that is the most important thing - we are very comfortable in it. 35' is actually a good maximum length for easily finding campsites. We've never had a problem, though we do plan ahead. We had looked at a lot of RV's before purchasing this one. A Tiffin is a major investment, so once we narrowed in on the model we wanted, we began looking at features. We stalked good dealers nationwide who carried them and got just what we wanted - in a state 3,000 miles away, so also got a crash course in driving it, LOL. We really love it as much as our brick and mortar. (Before this we had a truck and fifth wheel, before that a truck and camper.) We hook up in 5 minutes, unhook in less than a minute with Roadmaster towing.) I do drive the Tiffin as well. Now - we are middle aged, and in the future we might downsize if it becomes more rig than we want to handle. Will that ever happen? We'll see. I'd say, if you're narrowing down what you want, spend some time in it. Does it feel like home? This will be less important if you go on short trips, rather than 3 month long trips. Truly, there is an option for everyone! My daughter loves her small Sprinter van.

We have a 22' travel trailer that we've owned for 22 years and towed over 127,000 miles so I guess it's as perfect for us as can be. For laundry, we're in between. We carry a portable "Kuppet" washing machine in the truck which is great for the "high frequency" items like socks, underwear, t-shirts, etc. For heavy items like jeans and bedding, we go to a laundromat.

We can park almost anywhere including friend’s driveways. We do laundry every 2 weeks at a laundromat- in & out with everything folded in less than 2 hours. Perfect size - really the more room you have, the more junk you accumulate. No cons.

Walk around bed in the back with a pass through bathroom. The bathroom door, when open, separates the front from the back. We can have guests and at night both the front sleeping area and back bedroom can use the bathroom. We done have a smaller fresh tank but learn to carry a few Jerry cans. We can boondock for up to two weeks. Small enough for national/state parks but big enough for for us. No washer/dryer. We schlep our clothes to the laundromat.

We've added solar but we are bit behind on technology. We are not fulltime as we are still working non-remote jobs and travel during the shoulder seasons. Hi guys, it sounds like you had fun with the little guy. We have a 2012 Forest River Georgetown 360 DS, and I love George. It is our first motorhome and our last we bought it new, and I will never do that again. Depreciation killed me. Plus, the technology may be there in the new ones, but what happens when it fails you can't do anything at all. I like switches and knobs and stuff I can fix or at least put in limp mode till a new part gets there. We have a washer and dryer combo, and we wouldn't trade it for not. Also, having 2 bathrooms is really nice when it comes to emergencies. It has a V10, so the heavy-duty power isn't there, but the economy of higher diesel costs isn't either. The only thing I wish we would have got on it was the driver-side door. Otherwise, it has everything we need.

Our first Motor home was a 40' with a single washer /dryer combo. It was so small and so slow to do laundry that I hated it. It was easier just to sluff off to a local laundromat, use 2 or 3 machines at a time and get it all done in an hour or so. Our new unit is a 43' with a dedicated washer and dryer. We expect this will be better and faster.

Our ideal size is our Grech Terreno AWD iOn Class B Van. Yes, it doesn't have the space to carry everything we own, but enough space for a very comfortable set of clothes, dishes, utensils and food. I have had two towables before this and got to spend a summer vacation with my brother in his Class A. There is no comparison to the agility, park-ability, fuel economy of my Class B to a Class A. But as you very well stated, this van is the best size for us and not necessarily for someone else. I might be traveling solo for some periods and the simplicity of the van fits that lifestyle to a T.

We have kept up her care too. No washer dryer and haven't missed them. We did buy a portable washer with spin and that has worked perfectly on the few occasions we really needed to wash. When we camp with the family and the full wall slide is opened, we can moved the small desk on the driver's seat and the desk chair on the passenger seat, therefore giving us enough room to put together another set of bunk beds for the grandkids. Since we have a bath and a half, when the door is closed, there is full seperation and functionailty between our two families. The unit works very well for the two of us and we look forward to living in it full time next year. Biggest pro is that it is built on a Ram 5500 chassis, so it has plenty of power. Con, I would say is the cargo capacity. Dynamax built this model too heavy, so by the time will hook up the trailer and add clothes and groceries, we are already over-loaded.

It does have separation (sliding door) from living area to the bedroom and back bathroom also has a sliding door. So this is great when we need the separation if one of us wants to sleep in, we just shut the sliding door and provides a quite and darker area in the bedroom. It also works great because we travel with 2 medium size dogs.

So, you asked about pros and cons of our particular choices. I had a nice class C with 2 slides for a year (full-time while working). It was very roomy, i liked having room for tools and spare stuff for boondocking. It was also great to bring a buddy on a roadtrip - good separation and 2 beds.
I ended up giving it up because it was too big to keep warm in the winter. The same would be true for cooling in the summer, but i was in Oregon at the time.
I got a 21' van (Pleasureway) and love the versatility. I have remodeled some things to make it more useful for full time living, and put a kayak rack on top. I do wish there was more room for tools, but am satisfied with the gas mileage and stealth parking tradeoff.

I hope Phil feels better soon! I’m not full time but have a T@b 320 teardrop. After 35 years of tent camping it is luxury to not cook outdoors and to be somewhat warm on a semi-comfy bed (back of sofa folds down and I put memory foam on top). I don’t use my tanks, they’re only 11 and 8 gallons and I’m so used to doing dishes in a tub and camping where there are outhouses that it works for me. I can’t imagine what I’d do in Ruby, I’d feel lost rattling around in her but if I was full time I’d likely compromise with an airstream or a B+.

A 24-25 foot Class C is very versatile. We had an Old one on the 90’s that we used to take to all the UGA games which we were in a camping club. We also attended the GA/FL for many years. Once I had to work a mandatory weekend on the GA/FL game and my wife told me Monday she and her sister were leaving Tuesday and would be back Sun/Mon. It was small but we had 8 people in one at the beach for many weeks. They are more for weekenders vs full time, the 35 ft Class C are still very manageable and have much more space with the slide outs.

When I was researching I kept hearing that Floor Plan was one of the most important decisions. You need to know how you want to live then it you are looking at a trailer what do you have to pull it with. I also bought a used car to flat tow. I’m traveling full time and so far I’ve only done some short trips but in December I’ll be traveling form Maine to Key West then Alabama for the winter so that will be the true test. I'm still in research mode, great video guys! I started thinking about a Tiffin, heard some horror stories, so lately I have been looking at a used Newmar. I looked at some Fleetwoods, but every one that I seen was rusted out in the bottom of the aft compartments. The doors wouldn't even latch. I know I want a side radiator because I turn my own wrenches, washer dryer, king bed, 4 slides, 400 hp or more eng, prefer the 10,000 kw generator. And would prefer a floating fiberglass roof

We have a 38 ft DP and love every thing about it.. W/D, King bed, lots of room. We could probably downsize but I’d rather not. She’s perfect for the two of us and the occasional grand.

We have a 33' Tiffin Open Road 32BA gasser that, as far as the floor plan is concerned, is pretty much what we like. That said, we are upgrading to a slightly longer (37') Tiffin Allegro Bus for multiple reasons:
    1. Due to the 4 slides, compared to our current two, it is roomier and we like that. This is most apparent in the living area, though the bedroom also has a bit more space. It is still, however, only 37' long, so it's easier to drive and to fit into camping spots than a 40' to 45' diesel pusher.
    2. Hydronic heating. Endless hot water and selectable-zone heating is pretty cool. And it is boondocking friendly.
    3. Bigger shower. We are getting a bit more "stiffy in the body" and the 32BA's shower, although far from tiny, is just a bit small for the less flexible of us (my pink flamingo impersonation is getting pretty wobbly). We also really like the idea of the built-in seat that the Bus' shower has.
    4. The power. for sure, a 450HP diesel with 1250 lb ft of torque is going to pull way more, way easier, than a 362HP engine with 460 lb ft of torque. Don't get me wrong, I continue to be impressed by that Ford Triton V10 (spark plug issues aside), but it does struggle towing and going up hills...and both. It depends on what you want to do with it. Also, with the power and the increased size, better cargo capacity.
    5. The bells and whistles. Yeah, OK, I can't say we don't dig some of the nifty features of the Bus, like multiplex lighting, the as-mentioned hydronic heating, engine braking, solid wood cabinets, and, in our case, a residential refrigerator (which, I should mention, is less boondocking friendly :)).
Do A LOT of research. Then go out at look-see a lot of units. If you are unsure of the basic style you want, you might want to rent some units to see how they work for you...heck, you might decide this RVing thing is not right for you at all.

We got a Conquest 6314 last year. Still working on improving storage. It's shorter than Ruby but longer than the Winnebago.

I would like to downsize from our 40ft Tiffin, but washer and dryer is a must have
