    Just FYI, diluting 70% alcohol makes it completely ineffective as sanitizer. 70% is the perfect percentage to be effective. Adding that much water cuts that in half. If you’re going to use 70%, don’t add water. It’s not that expensive. I use Everclear Vodka because it’s the right percentage and much less “fumey.” It’s pretty expensive, but I just use it for my hands, so it lasts awhile. If you buy the 90% isopropyl, you want to cut it with water because 90% is actually too high to be effective because it will evaporate too quickly. The dilution for bringing 90% to 70%, is approximately 4 parts 90% to 3 parts water.

      And you have to let it sit for a bit to be effective.

      @@kelliethorne1200 Yes, but actually not all that long, as opposed to bleach, etc. 70% alcohol begins working immediately, and kills within 30 seconds to a minute.

    Thank you so much for showing us the shower magnets. I got them and they work fantastic at keeping the shower still while I have a fan running. Yesterday I ran 2 fans and the magnets worked great to hold the shower curtain still while I was in the shower. Thank you for that and all the tips.

    Nice video. I use environmentally safe products from an American company and our hand gel is so nice.
    For my bathroim cabinets I bought little toothbrush tolders that have nice grip bottom on them. I lucked out at Homegoods.
    YOGA MATS are AMAZING for your cabinet and fridge. I use glass dishes and cups and NOTHING moves in my cabinets.
    IKEA- If you have never been to Ikea, well let me tell you, their containers are in ALL my small narrow cabinets. And they are cheap enough but tough. Thanks for your hacks! Safe travels!❤❤

We own a Keystone toyhauler and someone on our FB group asked for suggestions for storage because they were going for an Ikea haul. I had another person use my ide for the Jonaxel drawer storage in the closet and they put it on Pinterest. Is has had LOTS of following.

    A really good way to remove scuff marks is to use a plain and simple eraser. Use a white one though (not coloured) :) also if your shoes ever create scuff marks on your tile floors or wooden floors. Use your shoes to rub it off. A tennis ball also works :)

    my fantastic fan failed in three years.
    but also for your shower curtain. buy a curved curtain rod. helps a bit for shoulder room.
    i have never had a problem using enzymes.
    but yes dump often and wash it out every time.
    sewe hose storage just get a plastic fence post, 9 feet long, by 5 in sq. couplebrackets and far cheaper then the made for rv items that have a huge mark up.

    I think the light switches with the flip are also sold at Dollar Tree (oe they used to be, because I bought a few years ago).
    OK! When I had my 34'er, I would first drain the black tank, then the gray, as the water from the gray flowed through the black. Then, using my own water hose, hooked up the the outside faucet, to clean out the tanks. Just turn on the water and let it run through your tanks. It never ceases to amaze me, peoples lack of courtesy and just common sense! 🤯

    I’m SO glad you mentioned black and grey hoses and dumping etiquette and that you’ve seen people do the unthinkable 😳 because I’m not sure I would’ve guessed that people could be that … ?! Anyway , that was appalling but helpful ! But , yikes ! Idk , maybe it WOULD have occurred to me (I’m brand new at this) the first time I have to dump my system (?) as I’m a germaphobe and wear at least 2 pair of gloves . But , holy cow ! I am still reeling with what you described you and your husband witnessing !!! Ok , I think I’m going to be ok . Lol.

Then I witnessed it with my own eyes, a solo woman van lifer...and no gloves to top it off 🤣😵 Way more people out there not using gloves! We always spray the picnic tables down with Lysol too...

    Excellent video ! I bought 25 little spray bottles from Amazon and fill them with 70% isopropyl alcohol - I have them every where - I use it as hand sanitizer, to clean glasses, iPhone, iPad, computer and tv screens - I think I might be addicted!
    I bought shelf/drawer liner from ikea,
    ▶️ I have a stacking washer dryer and an upright freezer right beside it. The top of the freezer is a handy spot to storage laundry soap etc. the not handy part is the vibration of the washer and dryer would cause container to ‘walk backwards’ until they fell behind the freezer - using the liner from ikea stops them from moving at all - amazing stuff

As far as an update to how I use my budget binder...everything is still set up and used the same. The only difference is I had to get a new binder because tge other one fell apart 🤣. It's nothing special not fire or water proof. 😊

    To use your tip, why don’t you put a tension rod in front of the laundry baskets on top of the washer?
    Thanks for all these tips, pretty cool!

      There is some space behind the washer/dryer where things could fall. Also the back of the washer/dryer faces the front cap, so when you hit the brakes, things slide back. The silicone mat is working great! I don't have to do anything extra on travel day 😊

    Do the shower shampoo holder thingies stick on textured surfaces?

    • @MakingMyAbodeOTR
      @MakingMyAbodeOTR  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I can't say for sure because my shower walls are smooth. But I noticed the reviews on Amazon with pictures are showing sime textured walls. You could check out the reviews there might be some better info there. In my opinion, based on my own personal use and the adhesive that's used...I think it would work just fine on texture. The adhesive is very much like ALIEN TAPE which works very well.

    When we are at a dumping station we typically will not have access to "flush" black tank after emptying it. Is there a reccomendation you have to "flush" thr black tank after emptying it?

    • @MakingMyAbodeOTR
      @MakingMyAbodeOTR  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes! You can buy an attachment that will enable you to flush your tanks on Amazon for about $50. If we didn't have the flush system built in we would use this one:

      Camco is a great brand.

    Hi, l have a question about your first hack. Would those bars hold much weight like soap shampoo if you put one sideways so you can put stuff on them and then put one like you have to stop stuff falling?

    • @MakingMyAbodeOTR
      @MakingMyAbodeOTR  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @michelegrice4938 Are you thinking of using one to create a shelf to hold things and then another in front to keep stuff from falling? They are pretty secure but I wouldn't recommend that just because that is not what their designed for. If you don't have an existing shelf you might consider a shower caddy or a basket that has really strong suction cups. I've seen some on Amazon that people seem to really like.

    • @michelegrice4938
      @michelegrice4938 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @MakingMyAbodeOTR yes l was thinking of that. Suction cup things won't stick on my shower walls for some reason. It's a weird plastic type material. I did come up with a different solution though, lm putting extension rods in and making a shelf , just to hold sample size bottles and soap. Thanks for your reply.

  • @judyross182
    @judyross182 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Lots of good tips. I've seen the Blackstone "Wind Guard" before, but I forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder. Next to my Splindide I have a shoe hanger (it's in a closet) so everything I need for washing is in the shoe hanger pockets. You could put a rod over the washer and hang some storage on that, leaving some room to hang damp clothes. I put a shower curtain rod over the top of the shower and hang damp items from that. I use Earth Breeze soap (I told you before I put in half a sheet for a load directly on the dirty clothes) and everything comes out clean. Earth Breeze is also much easier to store. What is all that stuff in the baskets on the washer for? Am I missing something?

    • @MakingMyAbodeOTR
      @MakingMyAbodeOTR  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you! You have some great ideas and I appreciate you sharing ☺️ I am definitely going to put a shower curtain rod in the shower for hanging wet stuff, I forgot all about your suggestion before😀 As far as the baskets on my washer and dryer...in the large white one I keep my laundry soap, dirty cleaning rags, and my vacume attachments. In the smaller green basket I keep a pump bottle that has laundry soap, a bottle of bleach, a bottle of vinegar that I use in place of fabric softener for some items, a toothbrush for stain removal as well as a laundry soap bar for stains, oh and the battery and charger for my cordless vacuum sits in there to charge. I have considered using the soap sheets, I am peticular about my laundry and my machine...🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ so not sure if I'd like it. I do have concerns about it gunking up the drum 😬I wish I could get a sample to try out but it seems companies don't do that too much anymore.

    I know that this is not related to this video, but I do really how that you will answer me. My husband and I are considering selling our home and buying a 5th wheel. We are trying to figure out how much it cost on average to stay in a park per month. Can you give me an estimate on what you have paid? I would be happy to share with you my email. Thank you so much.

    • @MakingMyAbodeOTR
      @MakingMyAbodeOTR  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @icpinkqueen I know this is probably not the answer you want...but, it depends. 😬 It depends on what part of the country you're in, if you're going to be stationary or traveling, and what type of campground you want to stay in. We have paid anywhere from $250 a month (staying 3 weeks at Thousand trails with our annual camping pass which is so cheap, $1,250 a year flat rate no commitment, and 1 week at a basic campground which was $250) to $2400 a month. Yikes I know. With our situation , we move every week and my husband's job sends us all over. we don't have much of a say where we go so that's why such a huge price fluctuation. If you're in a high sought after area like Charelston SC you'll pay more. I hope this helps! If you need more details, you can email me. I'd be happy to help. 😊

Everybody’s need to have everything automated Course, you know what happens for every action there’s an equal and opposite reaction or non-reaction so translation everything that we let computers and automatic machines do for us in slaves us just a little bit more to be permanently inept on healthy because we don’t do any exercise, even if it’s just something so medial as the grasping and twistingaction that our hands are happy to do for us.
