As a recent SDI graduate, I can confirm that these courses are informative and innovative. You must have confidence in learning about the firearms you choose. Stay focused on the path of your knowledge not on the obstacles. Be determined to a routine to make your deadlines on all weekly assignments. Don't be awkward or imbarrassed to utilize your advisers or instructors.

I've taken online courses at a university before and it came down to either being do it your self work or live classes. Could you tell me what your experience was like? I have asked a representative and they could not answer that

When discussing the argument of online vs face to face, one must remember that when we look back in time in any industry, someone was self taught. The education is meant to give someone a start in the right direction. Only long time experience and practice will get us on the path to being a "master". I've met Harvard schooled doctors who suck at their job and I've met state school trained doctors who are amazing. Best advice for online learning is to treat it as if it were face to face by actively engaging instructors and fellow students through discussion boards, emails, and phone calls.

Why? Because of the great people, the knowledge, and expertise available to students regardless of their geographical location. SDI is a leader in remote learning and that’s a testament to their commitment to the industry and their students.

So online courses without an in person instructure. Seems like a very flawed way of doing things is you are serious about doing gunsmithing as a career. Change my mind

Hello Jared, changing your mind is only possible if first you put in it effort to read and understand the material. Second apply what you learn to the firearm you choose. "The trick is to use the same firearm for all classes". And third submit your assignments on time. SDI has switched over from moodle to canvas. Which is more direct contact to your instructors or advisor's. They mail you all your materials. Challenge yourself to stay focused on learning then apply.
