I start August 1st. Is SDI still sending out 80 percent lowers and jigs? I saw someone saying they started sending stripped lowers to an FFL... just curious as to their protocol now.
@Holli Bushnell I told them I was taking a job overseas which I wasn't and wouldn't be able to do any of the projects that required a FFL. So they moved it up for me.
How are you able to balance the associates and working full time? How many hours a day did you work on school? Were you able to log on any time during the day to complete the work?
I believe they are not the same, it comes with a real nice barrel nut from aero precision, but if you were to buy it outright you would need an LR-308 barrel nut.
BigT 2a Shooter I am attending SDI for the associates degree. I started begging of March and so far classes are very informative! The instructors are great and the home work isn’t hard but it does make you think. All around great school run by some incredibly knowledgeable people! The capstone projects you get to chose from are the AR-10, AR-15, 1911, and now they are starting to offer an AR-9 project.
So I'm planning to start at sdi. And I was curious, with the electives, do you get to keep the firearm after it's built? Or does it get sent back for a grade.
I enrolled at sdi for the online class to be a gun Smith I filled out everything even the federal aid application how long does it take to get a pel grant for sdi
Why would you waste 22k on an online course... God the vets that get ripped off by this company... The people that get paid by SDI online should be ashamed of themselves.
Jeramy Vetter unless I misunderstood when I talked to Ryan he said you have a choice of 2 out of 3 options from ar15 or ar10 an 1911. I'm opting for the associates degree it may be different if it taking onlthe advanced course.
Jeramy Vetter that's really odd unless they changed it. I asked him like 3-4 times so we get to choose 2 out of 3 guns to build? An he repeatedly told me yes.
I start associates in science of firearms on 10/7/24 I’m getting pumped watching these vids from people that actually went through it
Great video. Starting SDI this month, nice unboxing, got me pumped now

@@Desertwolf_8712 you get a stripped lower now i actually got them to let me do this class earlier rather then wait till end of the program to do it
@@mikemcfly4778 how did you manage that?

Have you been able to find gunsmithing work after graduating from school? Does SDI have info on internship?
I enrolled in sdi to get my gunsmith certificate it's the 32 credit course the 8month class I can't wait
how much did this class cost? great video btw
Really want to do this. Need to convince vr&e to bless off on it while I pursue a different degree. :/
How did you choose the school to go to
Are the threads on barrel nuts for the AR 10 .308 interchangeable or how do I determine the proper barrel nut for my AR project.

How long does it take to get to the building of the AR10?

U get to keep them and you have to submit videos for grading if doing it online
No problem. I've actually been going to sdi for about 8 months now give or take.
