    Thanks,
Another entertaining VLOG. Your description of drunken party goers coming on uninvited reminded me of something.
Last English Summer, my older son Nige had a squatter on his narrow boat. She squatted for weeks and weeks but eventually she simply jumped off into the canal. A whole tribe of ducklings followed her.

That "DILLIGAF" Do I Look Like I Give A Flip line cracked me up! I'm STILL laughing at that one! Love it!
It's true though. My father has a sail boat in Warwick Rhode Island and we are sometimes amused at the names of the boats at his marina.

I remember this randomly sunny period in February 2016. An early spring followed by months of winter resumption. Enjoying the channel very much, has rekindled by past enjoyment of going narrowboat pleasure cruising every year, out of season in the early spring before the traffic picks up. Two boats & eight of us travelling in convoy. It made short work of locks, but the kitchen was always very crowded during evening dinner since we ate together before spending the night on our respective boats.

I really enjoy your videos. Every time my wife and I walk the towpaths around Oxfordshire and elsewhere, we wistfully chat about what life on the cut might be like for us. However, if we did it, there probably isn't a long enough narrowboat for all her 'mod-cons', which she will not be without. You should see the caravan we have! For two people! Oh and a couple of terriers.
Please keep them coming. Very informative and professionally presented.

Good description in a short time. As a child in London , I remember barges being pulled along by horses. Those barges are probably a home on the water now. I have very fond memories of my grandfather taking me down to see the boats, and how they were moved. As a resident of the USA, I can say, absolutely, there is nothing to match the British canal system.

Actually my favorite video so far. I strain to see the various narrowboats go by as I follow several who post videos of touring, but they rarely say anything about the other boats. At first I sort of thought they all looked alike, but began to notice the differences as I became more aware of the culture. I wish we had country-wide canal systems here in the US, but would probably have to drain the Great Lakes to fill them...:>)

First encountered you after searching TH-cam for engineering feats and found your vlog on the boat mover. Have watched ever since and enjoyed it all, being a fellow boat and water lover.
After showing all the roof storage options I was wondering how much these obstruct line of sight. Yours seems like a more logical choice not to clutter it up. Also, I'm constantly amazed you can stear what looks like a colossally long boat so well. Had some anxiety for you at first. Would have to stick to a mini myself.

just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your videos that I've been watching over the past year. I have now moved onto my boat and I would be a lot worse off if it hadn't been for all the info I've got from you. so thank you!! :D

Oh wow, how splendid for you! Very exciting. "A lot worse off" makes it sound as though you are nonetheless having some traumas - hope it's all OK. Cheers

Those struts what where used to lift the hatch about the side door will or probably come from a cars boot hatch, me and a friend recently installed some to his cars bonnet you can buy them online or just get some from a car scrapyard inexpensively

I discovered your videos as I am thinking of buying a narrowboat myself. They are fairly uncommon in Ireland though. Thanks for all the great information! Great videos!

Wonderful video. Thanks. More videos like this plz. Can you make a video about widebeams and barges as well? I guess you see lots of different boats when you drive around.

Alas, videos like this take months and lots of effort so they're necessarily rare. I've shown a few widebeams before.
