@@CruisingTheCut Well it was your videos that inspired us as a family to travel to England a few years ago and travel the Warwickshire ring for a fortnight as a family. It was a great family event with tbe kids now gone we have some great memories.
The positivity that folks like Jade and your good self bring go a long way towards offsetting the pit of misery that is social media. Long may it continue.
What a lovely girl. Her enthusiasm is pretty infectious. One thing that she said hit a note for me. She mentioned just being on her boat in the rain. Nothing better than hearing the rain outside when you’re cosy with a coffee and a book. Good luck with your boating Jade.
'All aboard the Skylark!' What a lovely little cruiser - and a delightful lady. Peak Forest Canal - now you're talking about my part of the world. So glad that Marple Junction was restored to the network. Thanks to Jade, and yourself, for 'A Grand Day Out'.
Jane is a blast! God bless her, she radiates happyness and her joy is contagious. And indeed, we the people on boats are a nice bunch, glad she joined the comunity. Cudos to the previous owner who helps her along on her learning curve. Hope you guys stay in touch and you include her again on your channel. Cheers
Sounds like an ideal handover between the previous owner and Jade - the current owner. So pleased to hear she's asking the questions and enjoying learning how to cruise this neat boat 🚢😀
I love to see an adventurous lady who is not afraid to take a chance and try something new. You did a beautiful job decorating the boat and making it your own. Now travel and see the countryside if you are able. Good luck in the future.
This is a great video as yours usually are. You conducted a splendid interview. It was obvious she is very thrilled with her boat and you captured her excitement so well. Just shows everyone doesn’t have to be an experienced man and the boat doesn’t have to be a 60’ narrow boat. Way to go!
Old style Cruising the Cut... David, you are and always will be, the very best at capturing the beauty of the canals! 👍 Let me treat you to a cheese sandwich and a cup of tea! 🤓
I have a Buckingham 25ft cruiser, the old saying is right "There's nothing better than messing about with a boat" I did the same gutted it and rebuilt. Was so much enjoyment learning new skills, and the people that I now class as friends on the canals. I'd advise anyone who wants to start out boating get a grp cruiser and just enjoy the waterways. Loved this vlog thank you David.
I discovered your channel during the pandemic (which probably a lot of us did) and watched religiously. It was always so calming and positive during a time when not a lot was. When life got back to "kind of normal" I didn't have as much time and kind of lost touch. But since I'm a subscriber, this video popped up and I'm so glad it did. I'll still probably never realize the dream of living on a canal boat but this seems more doable for a guy from California. 😆 Plus she's adorable. Good call.
Another lovely, informative video. I do really enjoy your collaborations and interviews with other owners, particularly those who are new to the lifestyle. Jade was terrific, and her enthusiasm shone through. And well done to the former owner, for being so supportive as Jade comes to grips with “Skylark”.
Thank you David - another lovely little slice of tranquility. As ever you just help me womble on in this funny old world. Best wishes from Simon in Holywood N Ireland, had a wild day in the Antrim Glens, looking at cottages with my partner. we were just thinking "let's just hide away here and live the quiet life". Thanks again as ever - always hugely appreciated :)
I can see that lady with her own channel. She exudes enthusiasm. Lovely starter boat. Happy boating near my part of the world. Another great vlog David
On your own boat’s transom repair. If you return to a polyester fiberglass encapsulated wood core consider painting/coating the wood thoroughly on all side with epoxy resin before placing it in position. Epoxy unlike polyester is not osmotic. Meaning it will not allow moisture to pass through between the wood and polyester fiberglass. That will keep the wood dry except for what moisture was already in the wood before you epoxy coated it. You should then be able to layup polyester & fiberglass over the coated wood as polyester will adhere to epoxy. Mark Fay
Terrific boat. Good about the former owner. My boat's for sale and part of my offer is you get me for as long as you need. Boats can be very complicated, the information on line can be nonexistent and many of the companies don't answer queries (B&G/Simrad is just the worst). So what I struggled to figure out, I don't want to do to anyone else. If you buy a boat, and you don't know more about boats than the previous owner, how available will they be to help?
Thank you again David. Beautiful setting, beautiful boat and a beautiful owner. Robbie had just cruised past my house in that clip, i had a chat with him a bit further up 😂
What a sympathetic lady on her wonderful small boat. Hopefully you'll be able to restore your own Twiggy to canal-worthy status soon and do some CtC on your own!
All those years ago, our first holiday trip was on a fibreglass out board motor job, called Water Tulip. We had a great holiday, did the 4 counties ring, in a fortnight. Got blown about a bit by the wind, but had a draught of about 4 inches and gave all four of us a taste of things to come, followed by many years of steel hulled 50' narrow boats. My brother has his own 57' narrow boat now. Great show as ever. Take care.
I love the name Skylark. XTC did a marvelous album called “Skylarking” I would imagine listening to that album on a clear summer day while cruising a canal would be delightful.
I had forgotten that XTC ever existed! Back in the day they were not 'rock' enough for me but I wonder if more mellow (old) me should take a listen? :)
Jade and her boat are just amazing.....long time since ive seen anyone so enthusiastic about what their doing in life......she would be great with her own you tube channel showing us her adventures on "Skylark"....and to top it all.. ...shes a scouser....🤣👍
This feels like back to factory settings. Beautiful scenery, the sounds of the canal. A heron! Make that 2 beautiful birds. I do miss the chugging sound of a narrowboat engine but we can forget that for a little while as we watch a new owner indulge in everything that is wonderful about the inland waterways. How wonderful to be inspired by such folk like our mutual chum Robbie, and your good self David! Great stuff! Thank you David and thank you Jade!
Another lovely boat and boat-owner. It’s great to see a novice getting on so well - makes me feel I could do it myself. Thanks for another great video!
Must be nice to have people mention that one of your videos inspired them to purchase a boat. You do a wonderful job promoting the canals.
Thank you very much!

One scene said it all - the image of her face as she cruised the canal, pure serenity, right where she needs to be. Centered.
I think that David Johns and CtC has helped to inject millions of pounds into the UK canal network and boating industry. He's one of my heroes. :)
I really like your videos you’re always polite and it refreshing to see a video of real people doing nice things.
I appreciate that, thank you 🙏
What a lovely lady - I feel inspired by her ‘go for it’ philosophy!

Always a new little experience of life on the canals, David--you never disappoint! Thanks for this.
Many thanks!

This is what boating and being on the water is all about. It’s a peace within you can’t get from any other place. Cheers!
I´ve said it before; you´r fantastic to find all these nice, and sometimes odd, people floating about
Greetings from Wisconsin
Thanks for showing the world the joys of the canal and the people that enjoy it Cheers to the boat bug

What an amazing lady and previous owner
I love that you were one of her inspirations! Luring more people into the local friendly canal cult I mean community, good work!
What a nice size of boat. Beautifully turned out. Lovely lady. And happy with her life. Great advert for canalling. Ta for sharing. C&Lx
The water is like glass and the weather perfect! Love the interior colors! Thank you for sharing....❤
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for another great video, David, and we look forward to following the further adventures of Jade's canal life.
David: Enjoyed the video. Her contentment was palpable. Thanks
Lovely lady Jade.. such a ray of sunshine! What a nice little cruise on the cut once again David! Cheers to the both of you!
Happy for this lady. That was a good time cruising the cut
David this was an amazing look at boating! Different but a great alternative. Thank you Go Jade
Smashing personality, I wish her well in her endeavours.
Loved this episode. The simple "let's go on a boat ride" videos never get old.
She sounds and looks like a happy boater.
Absolutely love her"just go for it attitude"i wish her many happy nautical miles bless her
What a nice boat and Captain as well!
Thanks a lot for the interview and ride along video!
👍👍👍
Good for her as a proud father of four strong successful daughters I always admire the can and will do attitude.
Cheers and thanks for the post

Yep. I'm waiting for the next episode on pins and needles, LOL!
Big smile imagining how many would be willing to help her in her travels. I think she will fit into the boating lifestyle nicely.

Thank you again David. Beautiful setting, beautiful boat and a beautiful owner. Robbie had just cruised past my house in that clip, i had a chat with him a bit further up 😂
Splendid!
As someone who relies on closed captions, I love the little flair you’ve been adding. “Deathly silent glare from heron” made my day. 😂
🤣 sorting the captions is the most tedious part of making the videos so every now and then I go a bit berserk but I'm very pleased they're enjoyable!
You always do such a great job of introducing people. Thank you
My pleasure!
What a lovely lady and nice little boat
Thank you, David, for this brief excursions. I enjoy it immensely. Keep up the good work. Try to be careful and enjoy your life, Maranatha.

Lovely lady, great video, she seems so happy with her boat. X
That was a lovely lady and her boat . Thanks David
Hi it’s got to be the best of both worlds boat on the cut and a camper van. We have The camper finished now just got to finish the boat. Great vlog
What a nice lady she is. Rooted in nature and practical. Lovely stuff.
Another great boating video. Thank you, sir!

A lovely story and a lovely lady. I wish her well in her quest to live on a boat. I can relate.
What a lovely boat! I love Jade’s enthusiasm. She’ll take good care of Skylark.
Love that. Cool little boat. Experiencing the miracles of life and nature.
I hope that she gives it a lot of thought before buying a canal boat . This looks like the perfect boat in my estimation .
It's a great first boat, definitely.
Hmm ... insulation may be ok for winter cruising ... or not.
Having a Squirrel, say, blasting out heat on an iced up canal is difficult to beat.
Gorgeous boat and wonderful old and new owners 😃🏴☠️❤️
What a charming lady & a sweet little boat. Thanks, David, for sharing! 🤩

Nothing wrong with a li'l fibreglass cruiser. I'd love one of those.
A most pleasant young lady with a lovely outlook on life. That little boat could not have found a better owner.

Every ten days or so!
What a treat to read a warm and supportive comments section. Thank you!
What a smashing bird. Positive vibes, happy-go-lucky, ballsy. Brilliant. We need more people like that on the canals. Best of luck to her :)
Lovely soul and doing what make her happy, inspiring. Many thanks for the Vlog
Good video - don't forget that transom job on Twiggy
Well done Jade!

Best wishes Jade. Thanks David, great job.
Looks like the boat has gone to good hands . So much good for her and God Bless .
Bless her heart! Skylark is such a lovely wee boat - hope she has fun.
Engine noise would be a concern for me with an outboard, especially an old one. I love her enthusiasm though, top draw.
The country side was just beautiful to see, the inside of the boat was nice and cozy. Something for you to aspire to for your boat. Cheers.
Thanks for providing a great image of alternative canal cruising styles!
Enjoy your little videos and a quick snippet of other people's life on the water, keep them coming. 😊
Nice Kennedy Space Center lanyard for the keys! Shout out from Florida!
This what you have to look forward too. When you finish the Yellow Peril. Nice one David👍🇦🇺🙏
Another fun and interesting video. Thanks as always for the entertaining closed captions.
Glad you like them!
I hope she loves this boat for many years.
