Thank you very much for this video. It's very thorough and well organized. I am thinking of using this opener for a different application, not for a garage door. Is it possible to flip the screw track 180 degrees, so that the track will be exposed towards the ceiling in your example. From the video, it seems possible, but I do not have a physical opener to verify this. Very much appreciate your comment on this. Thanks, Anil.
thank you very much for making this video. Your directions concur with the excellent screw drive from Home Depot/ Best directions for install EVER; red bag Blue bag, EASY!
I have model 2562 & need to remove the push nut to the clevis pin so that I can detach the rail to remove the carriage trolley to see if it needs replacing so that my garage door will open. How do you remove speed push nut? Is it still usable after removing it? Thanks
Well I got the push nut off. obviously it can't be reused. Now I can't get the pieces to slide of the rail because there isn't enough clearance between the rail & the wall. The rail won't bend enough. Do I need to figure out how to completely detach the rail from the opener or is there an easier way? Hoping for easier. Thanks.
The screw drive has broken (or, separated?) on my Genie Intellicode garage door opener. Unfortunately the installer did not leave the Owners Manuel. Can I purchase just the screw drive?
does the Signature Series 2 HPc Screw Drive Wi-Fi Enabled Smart Home Garage Door Opener Model #4063-TNMSV have aladin connect integrated ? it says it does but i dont see it in the manual online...I dont want to buy this one until i know i want this feature .
The spring carries the weight of the door, the garage door opener is only there to assist the door in opening. The doors spring needs to be replaced before any garage door opener will work properly.
How do I know which one is the white wire and which one is the striped one? The machine just comes with a bunch of white wires all wrapped up do I cut them in pieces for each power head?
do these new Genie Screw drive openers have the same threaded screws as the old model genies? just different rail design? or are the new screws of different diameter, thread count etc?
As a disclaimer, ALL doors over 10'W should have horizontal reinforcement on the top section, regardless of construction, due to added stresses of the wider door.
Trying to get the wiring into the little holes on the power head was the most frustrating part for me. The first tab I pushed on to open the hole kept going and broke off. Otherwise I am happy with the set up.
The older rail to bracket holes were a lot larger, looks like 5/16, the new rail bracket holes were 1/8 inch, the pin is very small, instead of a hole in the pin and a clip to hold the pin in, you now have a small slide on clip, very thin, no hole, not very secure. The new rail bracket is hard to line up because of the small hole and not secure enough. Other than the rail bracket, I like the opener. Hope you redesign the rail bracket.
Our residential DIY models only work up to an 8ft high garage door with the use of an extension kit. For anything higher you would need a professional model, We have chain belt and screw drive options for doors higher than 8ft.
Either I'm stupid or both the video and the paper manual are terrible at explaining how to install. I'm having so much trouble with this is kinda frustrating.
I was looking for a Genie direct to replace a Genie direct, couldn't find one anywhere & they're out there..3 days of asinine looking in big boxes & couple other retailers + considering other brands ?.. calling Genie & they were zero help, internet sure, but a week or 10 days ? + rape shipping.I did the in store Silentmax 3/4 750 $188.00 wall & 2 remotes, skipped the Aladdin crap, assembly - installation was literally cake, setting the up & down limits took all of 1 minute & the reverse was factory as well as the remotes. The head mounting bracket's always the bitch so I made a rock solid beauty,It's so much quieter & smoother than worm, not even comparable you can barely tell it's on.Glad I went with this.Long term.. screw vs.belt ?

Set the new remote operator same as the transmitter but garage door still not working remotely. What seems to be the problem?
Does this need the torsion spring? I have a garage door with a broken spring and I would prefer not to have to replace it
The spring carries the weight of the door, the garage door opener is only there to assist the door in opening. The doors spring needs to be replaced before any garage door opener will work properly.

The wire with the red writing is considered the "striped" wire. Thank you

Correct, they have a different screw and rail
As a disclaimer, ALL doors over 10'W should have horizontal reinforcement on the top section, regardless of construction, due to added stresses of the wider door.
that door has integrated struts
Agree, the top panel will flex over time and cause the opener to reverse.

Thank you very much!! I was able to fix a seemingly difficult problem very easily.

Two question to Genie community:
1) Rail Length (ft.): 9.5 ft...?
2) Belt or screw...?
Our residential DIY models only work up to an 8ft high garage door with the use of an extension kit. For anything higher you would need a professional model, We have chain belt and screw drive options for doors higher than 8ft.
If it fails, would I be able to lift door manually?Thank you
Thanks !
yes!
Yes...release the traveler and lift the door.
Thanks! Just did it!
Where can I find the manual for this? Any ideas?
Their website
Hi Jostin - all of our manuals are located here:overheaddoor.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1308

This Clevis pin and pushnot keeps on coming apart and we don’t know what to do
Does it need to be installed in the center ?
Yes, this should be centered with the center of the door
@MOPARGuy even a Mopar guy go that one!
My Genie will not operate anymore. is there a reset button?
necesito en español las intrucsiones
He said "compact CFL light bulbs" CFL stands for compact fluorescent
joey meyers it's fine we all make mistakes
ATM machine...
Definitely should use LED bulbs today which were not widely available when this video was made.
I think they assembled the screws on mine backwards... can’t tie them together
Why can't I use an extension cord?
