I bought the same unit from Lowe’s. I paid for a fantastic low price for the installation. I could have done it myself, but I realize that I am slowing down. Instead of the two days, the installer took about two hours. You could tell from the way he worked, that this was not his first install. The belt unit is whisper quiet, especially after I took his suggestion and oil the door hinges. Gone are the 25 year old chain drive craftsman and the creaky hinges. It’s heaven!
Thank you for this video. Just missed any part about proper location of belt connecter when tightening it and connecting it to carriage assembly. But figured out. You made things clear and simple.
Hi sir, I had the same your door opener that vi installed 2 years ago and working great until last week. The door not opened up all the way and I checked everything was fine!’ But I am still facing with its issues sometimes! Do you have any ideas ? Thanks
My house also came with pre-existing wiring but I can’t seem to get the wiring for sensors correctly. So you did brown and white for each sensor, and then when going back to the Motorhead what 4 wires did you put in? Which 2 did you put together for the 1st slot and then the 2 for the 2nd slot?
Very informative video!! I have the same model genie opener. Do you have to set and program the up and down limits before the wall control button works. My wall control button is not working, I think because I have not set and program the up and down limits. Thanks in advance for your help.
John, I have a unique situation, I know everyone’s is unique. But really this one is. The front of my garage sticks out 2 feet from the house. On top of that inside the garage there is a support from the house that goes through the garage that will not allow the door lifting chain rail puller to go all the way to the front above the door. Any ideas. Would like to try and do this myself. I believe would need a bar about 2 feet long from the door to the motor drive chain rail. Any ideas?
How do you activate the remote controls that come from the factory? .... I did all the necessary steps but when I press one of the buttons on the remote control, the door closes but then does not open with the remote control...
Of your genie garage door opener doesn't come with a brown wire what then and your going too fast you should so step by step such as what screws you use in each piece.
I agree. Thank you for the feedback! I was by myself, so I had to move the camera quite a bit just to capture the shots I got. But you are right. It would have been a better guide if I had added all the little details. As for the wiring, I would reach out to the manufacturer to get specific wiring info for your model.
Not really a professional install, lots of things you missed, lots of extra steps you took that served no purpose really. Definitely worth paying a professional like me $150 for a professional install, especially because motors are not a “got it done atleast!” type of thing, the way your arm is setup, if it’s incorrect, your top panel will be cracked in a few years, ruins the door in lots of ways if it’s set up incorrectly.
I'm definitely not a "professional." I just followed the instructions step by step that came with it and figured I'd share with others. Feel free to share your expertise on what was missed and the extra steps that could be eliminated and help others out! Thanks for the feedback!
@@jkuberski Indeed, a swap from a reputable professional would be double that, at $300, and would charge you extra for a full retail kit as they will not install one you buy and guarantee it as they would from their own sourced parts. Anything less, take it with great suspect they would do it any better than a homeowner could.
As a single mom this really helped me cause I bought the same opener, however it took me 2 days but I got it done 😊
Great job!
💚
i had mine for weeks so 2 days is pretty good mom!
Wow. You are inspiring me to do it 😊. I was getting overwhelm but I’ll try it.
You got this!! @@carmenalmanzar2205
Really EXCELLENT instruction video.. clear voice, great camera control… your like walking in the park… nice job , hope it’s still working for you ok 👍
Works great still! Thank you for the kind words 🙂
I was able to install the whole setup using this video, really nice video with every step explained in detail!
Never knew these came with a battery backup. Very good idea.

It is very quiet and I love it!
How much did you pay for installation
My garage door opener is a 25 year old craftsman 1/2 hp. I have to press the button and hold it for door to go down. Got the genie to replace it today
Thank you for this video. Just missed any part about proper location of belt connecter when tightening it and connecting it to carriage assembly. But figured out. You made things clear and simple.
All the tutorial videos miss this very important step 😢.
Thanks for the rest of the information 😊.
I have the same door opener, I used your guide as a reference. Thanks!

Very good bro. I will be installing one next week. Question, you don’t really need to install those stoppers on the sides of the garage door, right?
Great video! Glad I found this. Planning to tackle mine this weekend! Thanks for a great instructional video
Closing on my first home in 2 days and I am the least handy person on earth. Thank you for the awesome video and can’t wait to fall off a ladder!!!
You got this, congrats on the new home!

This was very informative. 👍🏾
Where we are going to buy a box of all equipment for garage door opener and tracking equipment with motor and backup battery.

Is the door moving at all when you hit the button? It still should cycle up and down a small amount.
How do you mount that to a pitched roof where there are steel girders every ten feet? My door is not pitched but the roof is.
to connect the electrical on the motor its not a press down - its a press in.
Thank you for the video good job 👍

Yes, a longer bar sounds like what you need. Just look up "straight garage door arm" and just add another 1 to 2 feet if needed. Good luck!
Does your railing bow or bend when opening and closing ?
Can you stop doors halfway or 1/3 for ventilation or just fully open and fully closed? Thanks!
Yes, you can click the button, and it will stop at that spot. Click it again, and it goes in reverse direction.
@@deuceliter greaaat! still working fine, no issues? I'm thinking to grab the same one. Thanks for reply buddy!

I assume the motor won’t work without the door sensors wired in, right??
Lol, yes, you must have the sensor correctly installed.
The top section should have a strut to make it stronger but I see each section they're centered in the Middle of each section
In Florida, we have to have them on garage doors due to hurricanes.
Genie wall opener should glow red, if it doesn't reverse the wires on it to fix that issue.
Do you know by any chance how much was the total headroom in your case and what is the door radius you are using?
Headroom is 8ft 6 inches and a 12 inch radius
@@deuceliter I meant the total space for the torsion system + the opener rail :)
Different story if Holyfield was young.
Just bought this unit I just have the 3 red blinking lights issue.
Can you give me more details about connecting the wires please?
What's your question?
Im thinking about getting any complaints on this model?
No complaints so far!
