In my opinion, Legacies would have been a decent stand-alone show, but as a spin-off, once you compare it to the source material, it's evident they went completely off the rails.
@@bitxhcraft As a standalone, I don’t think it would’ve gotten that far, most of the people that watched it were fans of TVD or The Originals, the Malivore storyline would’ve pissed everyone off
Theres also the plot hold that Hope and the twins are the same age even though they were kids when hope was a teen at the end of the originals whrn they had to syphon the hollow put of her and into Klaus
Actually, no, they’re never the same age. At the beginning of the show, Hope was 17 and the twins were 15, it’s not implied they were the same age. Except when Hope said she had a crush on Josie when they were 14, but she could have meant when she was 14, or when Josie and Lizzie where 14, but I think they’re in the same grade
It failed because its tone was too comedic and childish. It treated its threats more like adventures and side quests rather than actual threats. TVD and The Originals succeeded because of their mature themes and undertones and the threats that were faced were taken very seriously as in you felt the stakes of what could happen if they lost. The biggest problem was they through to much shit at the wall. Between The Originals and The Vampire Diaries they had established two thousand years of history in the universe about what did and did NOT exist in that world and Legacies just took all of that and threw it out the window. They show would have been decent as a stand alone without the twins or Hope or it could have been GREAT if it just stuck to the original lore of the series and followed those characters. It was always at its best when following the legacy of the shows that came before and not all that dragon, god, fey malarky.

With regards to the gods and Malvor thing. I don't think it matters if the gods remember the gods consumed by Malvor. Because they obtain their power and thus their energy needs to exist via faith. IF Malovor erases them from the world's memory then they don't have belives and thus can't generate power, which means they fade with time and thus die. That is what Ken feared. Still thing locking themselves up was dum though.
@haydenscholze7452 I initially assumed that when it was just from Jen’s pov but then we found out Ken specifically sought out Jen because other Gods had already been consumed, I highly doubt Ken would believe anyone would be more powerful or completely unbeatable to him without having proof first

The show could have had a love triangle between the sister's and hope but nooooo she had to simp for Landon and make him her entire personality even tho they had 0 chemistry and why tf did nref everytime her bf was around oh yeah it was too make hm useful
RANT: From the Vampire Diaries, for the love triangle between, Caroline, Stefan, and Alaric, I think what made Alaric fall for Caroline because of a void that was mentioned at some point of the first TVD series in the later series and the episodes after Jo (Lizzie's and Josie's bio-mom) was murdered by Kai (her now heretic twin brother) at Alaric and Jo's wedding. Alaric was devastated because she was pregnant with Lizzie and Josie and those fetuses supposedly died with Jo. but when the twins were magically transferred and implanted into Caroline (since the actress was pregnant in real life). the point is after this rant was Alaric that when "fell in love" with Caroline, I felt like he was filling that void and was devastated so much. the episode in Legacies, Mombie Dearest, felt like a great reunion in the Saltzman family, even in dire circumstances. What bothered me in TVD was some dude's vampire soul that jumped into the nearest body it can find (Jo's dead body) after that Phoenix Stone was shattered or whatever. that plot line with Rayna and the Phoenix stone sucked to me and didn't seem pleasing. (Forgive me but I had not finished TVD because it was taken off of Netflix in September of 2022 or 23, so I didn't get to Seasons 6, 7, or 8 but I do know major story lines in those seasons) I was also disappointed in how Legacies was too childish too. Hope shouldve had more power scenes and not be nerfed. the seriousness and rated M-ness should've progressed throughout the show like its two predecessors. Higher stakes should've been added. Enzo St John (TVD), Chad, and Rafael Wraithe didn't deserve to die the way they did. Gemini Coven history should've gone more in detail and remade since Kai's death and transition into a heretic at Jolaric's Red Wedding and Kai should've been a bigger villain and the far most best villain in Legacies. Maybe Caroline and Alaric fall in love later in life in a rewrite of Legacies (despite him being her highschool teacher in TVD) but one a more mature ground. or Alaric dies (higher stakes) Bonnie should've been a teacher at the Salvatore School too. and no mysteriously missing teachers as Landon mentioned in the Pothos episode. and fundraisers every-now-and-then but still add the leprechaun trouble. 2nd major villain: the Strix should've come back as a more formidable enemy of the Mikaelson family when they least expected it and Aurora plotting the whole thing for Tristan's (Aurora's older?? brother) death in the Originals. the Gods plotline should have been way more better, more powerful, even higher stakes, and with different names without rhyming. the Boatsman should've been its own character and not "Lynn" but a separate God itself. Jed, Kaleb, MG, and Cleo (still love her) should've been written better. the writers should've given us more background on them and their families. who turned Kaleb and MG? who (a human) did Jed kill to become a werewolf? I felt Cleo being a Muse wasn't that great tbh, maybe a different supernatural creature and different background story, but I loved her character. Landon should've been written better too. explore the Phoenix's lore and not "die" of a golden arrow that the Salvatore School conveniently had in their armory. Just take out the golden arrow entirely. expand on Landon's phoenix powers and tears that will heal fatal wounds like in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Rapunzel in Disney's Tangled. I think Delena should've had a son instead of a daughter with the cure in his veins. Honestly, the girl power thing was great in Legacies and predecessors but it was a bit tiring at times b/c of the writing of the characters.
Legacies wanted to be Buffy, Angel, and Charmed and it failed miserably. Utter trash! The only good episode was the one with Kai escaping the prison world.
Off topic but something I realized is that kol will eventually be the last original left if you think about it. finn elijah and klaus are already dead freya isn’t immortal so she’ll die eventually and Rebekah will take the cure eventually so she’ll die too
Question though Why isn't fraya immortal? Wasn't she immortal with she sleeping spell that her aunt put on her plus when Nick snaped her neck she didn't die
Legacies Villains Who Should've Been Main Villains Season 1 - Kai Parker Season 2 - Dark Hope Season 3 - Dark Josie Season 4 - Aurora De Martel Secondary Villains Season 1 and Season 2 - The Necromancer Season 3 - Kai Parker Season 4 - Ken Malivore should not be a character, it should just be a dimension that releases monsters like vampires, werewolves, witches that makes sense for the universe.
IT started off good. but then focused more on agendas instead of a good story. Not good choices of villains that were written well. Makes you wonder who the writers were because to often they don't know any thing about the shows.
You don't need 17 minute analysis to figure out why this show tanked. The writing was really bad, teenage drama, no character development and the worst part is the episodic "monster of the week" just didn't work. There wasn't a good overarching plot line. It was basically written by AI lol.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe with the Malivore erasing the gods plot, Jen said the gods gain power through people believing in them, so if the gods were consumed by Malivore then no people would remember them, except the other gods, which would result in the remaining gods losing power
@@killerjosh123yt Yh if it was just Jen’s explanation then it wouldn’t have any inconsistencies but then Ken told Aurora he went to Jen because family members got consumed by Ken, if they did get consumed he would’ve still remembered them because Gods are immune to the memory wipe, if they were consumed then he should know that ability doesn’t work on Gods and wouldn’t need to find Jen anyways
We got 15 seasons of supernatural and instead of getting 4 more of tvd/originals we got 4 more seasons of supernatural but way worse, I hate everything legacies stands for
The plot holes in this show are so fucking funny because truly what is going on😂😂😂 that being said I like the show. Its stupid and fun but it got so ridiculous by the last season that i just couldnt care about the characters anymore which is said because heretic Lizzie and tribid Hope shouldve been them at their best
Legacies is what happens when you Let Disney take over. I swear I felt like Disney added their spin on it. Reminds of Descendants or one of their live action shows. Originals being Darker made sense. Different times and the era was darker. Literally a war among the supernatural. It wouldn’t make sense being PG or anything close. In reality I think they made Hope so overpowered they just randomly brought other mythological creatures and characters in with no logical reasoning. Even the love triangles felt forced and a waste of time. She didn’t even give off Mikaelson vibes. The Twins were terrible side characters and The school itself was all over the place. Compared to TVD and TO it was pure trash. Surprised it lasted as long as it did.

the episode in Legacies, Mombie Dearest, felt like a great reunion in the Saltzman family, even in dire circumstances.
What bothered me in TVD was some dude's vampire soul that jumped into the nearest body it can find (Jo's dead body) after that Phoenix Stone was shattered or whatever. that plot line with Rayna and the Phoenix stone sucked to me and didn't seem pleasing. (Forgive me but I had not finished TVD because it was taken off of Netflix in September of 2022 or 23, so I didn't get to Seasons 6, 7, or 8 but I do know major story lines in those seasons)
I was also disappointed in how Legacies was too childish too.
Maybe Caroline and Alaric fall in love later in life in a rewrite of Legacies (despite him being her highschool teacher in TVD) but one a more mature ground. or Alaric dies (higher stakes)
Bonnie should've been a teacher at the Salvatore School too. and no mysteriously missing teachers as Landon mentioned in the Pothos episode.
and fundraisers every-now-and-then but still add the leprechaun trouble.
It had a lot of great episodes, so it wasn’t trash
I wanted Hope to be a tribrid longer and Landon to be a phoenix
@@heatherlicious8224 She should’ve been a tribrid by the end of season 1/start of season 2

@@heatherlicious8224 true dat
Off topic but something I realized is that kol will eventually be the last original left if you think about it. finn elijah and klaus are already dead freya isn’t immortal so she’ll die eventually and Rebekah will take the cure eventually so she’ll die too
@estek5720 Yh tbh there’s a lot of sad realisations you’ll notice after finishing TVDU
Question though
Why isn't fraya immortal? Wasn't she immortal with she sleeping spell that her aunt put on her plus when Nick snaped her neck she didn't die
@ She isn’t immortal anymore as Dahlia disable her link to Freya in season 2
@Faceless1andonly oohh yeah I totally forgot about that part
I mean he has Davina he’s fine
Legacies Villains Who Should've Been Main Villains
Season 1 - Kai Parker
Season 2 - Dark Hope
Season 3 - Dark Josie
Season 4 - Aurora De Martel
Secondary Villains
Season 1 and Season 2 - The Necromancer
Season 3 - Kai Parker
Season 4 - Ken
Malivore should not be a character, it should just be a dimension that releases monsters like vampires, werewolves, witches that makes sense for the universe.
I disagree about the villains in the originals. I actually like them.
i personally really like legacies but i do understand why it gets so much hate but i am also biased because i love hope. it was just a LOT different
IT started off good. but then focused more on agendas instead of a good story. Not good choices of villains that were written well. Makes you wonder who the writers were because to often they don't know any thing about the shows.
@@scoobydoo316us I think most of the writers were from TVD, as in season 7 and season 8 TVD
Legacies seasons 1-2 and 4A was fun.

@ yeah, no
Nope all of legacies is terrible
You don't need 17 minute analysis to figure out why this show tanked. The writing was really bad, teenage drama, no character development and the worst part is the episodic "monster of the week" just didn't work. There wasn't a good overarching plot line. It was basically written by AI lol.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe with the Malivore erasing the gods plot, Jen said the gods gain power through people believing in them, so if the gods were consumed by Malivore then no people would remember them, except the other gods, which would result in the remaining gods losing power
@@killerjosh123yt Yh if it was just Jen’s explanation then it wouldn’t have any inconsistencies but then Ken told Aurora he went to Jen because family members got consumed by Ken, if they did get consumed he would’ve still remembered them because Gods are immune to the memory wipe, if they were consumed then he should know that ability doesn’t work on Gods and wouldn’t need to find Jen anyways
maybe human and other supernatural "remember" the Gods but only in mythology
We got 15 seasons of supernatural and instead of getting 4 more of tvd/originals we got 4 more seasons of supernatural but way worse, I hate everything legacies stands for
Will there be another spin-off because Julie revealed that she team are definitely work on new spinoff based on legacies original tvd?
@@stephaniepage4334 I’m not sure tbh but it’s unlikely
The CW has been closed and basically bankrupt so I doubt it’ll happen. Unless Julie sells the show to another company.
Thanks 😊

Legacies to vampire diaries and the originals is like the new fast and furious movies to the original fast and furious movies
Bro I loved the show I don’t know why people hate it
Same. Hope is my favorite character
Also hopes version of limbo HD to do with her werewolf line
@@shariyahdiamondofficial97 Which version of Limbo, there’s only one Limbo
@Faceless1andonly just like they said it was only one prison world then Bonnie made a new one for Kai and then in legacies lizziie Joe made one for him and then hope for they friend the wolf

@@shariyahdiamondofficial97 He was in the Salvatore compound as Caroline stated Stefan owned the mill, there’s no way Stefan never digged it for maintenance stuff or any Salvatore for that matter digged there for maintenance issues in over 100 years, also he should be dead due to the mystic falls purification spell, even if he’s underground as we saw Stefan and Elena begin dying even when they were in the tunnels
The mythology problems you present on the first half are all LITERALLY explained on the series. Like, literally. No plot hole or inconsistency as youtried to present it like. .-.
@@lordodinaesir7643 Which mythology problem? The Gods one, you can try to explain it but I assure you it’s a plot hole also Sebastian being alive, you can try to explain it but I assure you it’s a plot hole, the afterlife dimensions Yh no
@@lordodinaesir7643 1. Jen claimed the reason Ken came to her was specifically because of his fear of Malivore’s memory wipe ability, Ken himself stated that a few of the Gods were consumed, if they were consumed then Jen will know that the ability doesn’t work on them so wouldn’t assume the reason why Ken is coming is specifically for the memory wipe ability
@@lordodinaesir7643 2. Sebastian’s plot is pretty simple he should be dead, he was in Mystic Falls for over 480 years meaning he would’ve been there during the Mystic Falls magic purification spell, he’s a vampire so he should be dead, I know you might say he was underground but so was Stefan and Elena and the spell still worked on them

I agree with the first 3 points made in the beginning but, the things with the gods? No, yes the gods didn’t forget but the people did which as stated in the clip you showed is a death sentence meaning when a god gets trapped by malavor (however u spell it) they die although I will say locking themselves up was dumb 😂

@@Faceless1andonly I've watched that series when it first aired to when it reached its final conclusion. So for me to still remember majority of its viilians says alot. If they were mid or trash don't I wouldn't even bother to put any of them to memory.
