This is exactly what I've been wanting. Way less kludgy than running Milkdrop in VLC, and way easier to use with outside audio sources than the traditional Winamp implementation. Plus the included presets are swell. Simply wonderful stuff.
Why am I entirely NOT surprised to hear Psytrance in this tutorial XD Much love, you should see this in VR on a 12 sided Kaleidoscopic screen. We doing some REAL fun stuff, come join some time!
Dope beats for the soundtrack! Like the user below, I was... distracted. Started running a bath, went to put some music on and found Milkdrop 3.2! Spent the next hour and a half playing and configuring and loving it... And ran all of the hot water out of the cylinder, filled the tub and thanked the water goddesses the tub had a drain! Thank you MilkDrop!!!
I've loved MilkDrop in WinAmp for 20 years!! Beautiful Visuals that Pulsed to Music!! It was easy to use. Can I use this in WinAmp or ? I'm new to OBS. I want to learn how! Any Advise /Quick Tips / Tricks to Play & Record Video & Audio IS Greatly Appreciated! Cheers~
well it's even easier now, watch my tutorial1 : th-cam.com/video/OQdZFlOHe5o/w-d-xo.html you can use it with any player, winamp, spotify... and the easiest way to record is to use the xbox gamebar integrated in windows (win+g) and change the settings to 60fps and video quality to high, or use the software with your graphics card (nvidia and intel have they own custom screen recording software for example)
Where do I select beat sync to aux input on my audio interface? I bought a cheap Behringer UCA202 that has RCA inputs so I can beat generate visualizer movement from my dj rig.
hi, i was wondering if there was a way for a user to make their own autocut modes? ive really been enjoying your work though some of the music i listen to just doesnt quite work with any of the 6 modes you've made, so i was hoping i could maybe make a few myself. looking forward to your next video, i hope to make some presets of my own once it comes out! :-)
Can anyone recommend any their favorite presets that accurately visualize the waveform of the music as it's playing? Sort of like an interactive fourier transform/spectogram if you know what I mean lol
wow bro this worked wonderfully, way better than wallpaper engine (old) hey, ive been wondering, my beat detection does not seem to work? i saw how the vid's bass mid and treble seem to change with the music, but mine is kinda stuck at all 1.0000. did i miss something? thanks (nevermind, apparently the sampling rate broke the app, i was using 192khz, bringing it back to 48khz fixed it for me)
technically you can rate them 0 to 5, press F6 then + or - but you can also copy them to a separate folder and create your own collection. You can save any preset with a new name to find them easily, press 's' and add a few letter before or after like adb then you'll find it in the folder Milkdrop3\presets
No sorry, the only things you can use are the older Milk files (but the Milk2 and newer Milk files with sprites won't work). Copying the .exe files won’t work either (I saw a post on Reddit, but I don’t think the person understands what’s going on). If you want a graphical user interface for MilkDrop3, I’ve made a Pro version
@@MilkDrop2077 awesome! I guess I made an incorrect assumption based off of my past experiences with visualizers and how nice this one looks that it was using a lot of resources. My bad. It's truly fantastic! Thank you!
It work with any audio playing on your computer without any cable and line input thing. Just launch it and play some music on Spotify or TH-cam, that's it!
@@TK7-VB I’m running a non computer Modular synth set up. Ideally, it would be great if the microphone input on my laptop running Milkdrop 3 would be sound reactive. I’m currently running Milkdrop 2 through Winamp using the url line in setting and it works great however, would love to get modernized with this awesome new Milkdrop 3
@@jahmontee74 There is a work around creating a loopback in your windows sound settings. I have found that it creates an echo of the sound though. sad. This is definitely the feature I would like most and willing to pay for it to natively pickup the line input or even using the line in function through winamp.

I found this last night, by myself and haven't stopped except to work.
I can't believe how infinite and effortless this is
thanks, next version will be even more powerful and effortless :)
You created something humanity will ponder upon forever.
ive never loved watching a tutorial more

Where can I join this? What VR app supports this? Sounds awesome!
Thank you so much for this video, it truly helps A LOT. first time using milkdrop ever.
watch the next one th-cam.com/video/AdcUPpp1O0k/w-d-xo.html and start making your own double-preset!

I love the Psytrance tutorial :D
Thanks a lot for your work !
Is there a way to tweak the graphic card part or the audio detection part ?
In the future versions you'll be able to!

Nicely done
this video deserves a lot more recognition, great job milkdrop!!!!
Great work bro!
thanks Keith!
💯 great job

@@MilkDrop2077 amazing!!! thank you so much, i really appreciate it
OMG!
now can we get LRC file support please? Lyrics are super important to a lot of us for party displays.
this is my fav visualizer. i wish it had a Linux version too, please consider it :)
Thanks, for Linux project-M is the way to go, or try wine (I don't know if it works)

Will you be doing tutorial #3?
I'm working on it, it should be available in July
Very nice work ! How to change for line In audio source ?
try to set the audio device you want to use as default in windows, or use a virtual audio cable : www.patreon.com/posts/how-to-use-your-98362918

All the beat detection frequency types are auto-gained! It does swing through 1 and it depends by the volume of music.
This is amazing work! Is there a way to "favorite" or mark presets that you like and want to come back to?

5:11 ...and Spotify, AIMP and some media players will do the same thing!
Is there a way to make it less intense? I run several programs at once and don't want the visual element to be too much of a drag on my RAM.
I don't know what your talking about, t's a super light and optimized program, it barely use 0.1gb of RAM

+ and - keys but I kind of disabled that to load the presets faster. I'll put it back in a future version

my only request is getting "VJ MODE" back and having the text in a separate window
