      Honestly... these things aren't that big of a deal, they have gone through tests to see if they are harmful and most of them aren't and the rest don't do much. If it makes things taste better than I'm all for leaving it in... because if it even doubles my natural chance for cancer... that is still something like 0.05%...

    • @tylerchristensen1535
      @tylerchristensen1535 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      -sighs and rubs eyebrows- Guess you guys miss the point... But really what point is there the stuff has already been taken out, the bread still tastes great, who gives a fuck. I personally don't give a fuck if it was still there or not, was the point I was trying to make. I've eaten subway quite a bit and the stuff hasn't killed me or harmed me, so who cares if it's there. -shrugs- Also the bigger reason the squirrel ignores the gum is because it has a known food source before it and has no need to explore the foreign and strange looking gum. Also was fairly aware that people have baked bread since they could build an oven... and that the recipe for bread has changed several times, if the stuff in subways bread bothers you go read the back around the loaf in your pantry...

    • @tylerchristensen1535
      @tylerchristensen1535 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      -sigh- I don't believe they grind up yoga mats and put the stuff in the bread. Just because the same molecule can be used in two separate applications doesn't mean it's taken from one application o another, I'd actually venture to guess it's manufactured in two separate places, one for food grade material, and the other for yoga mat grade material. But all you hypochondriacs that think every little thing can kill you think it must be made all the same and even put in one and then the other...

    First, Subway is nasty. Second, this isn't a plastic, it's an additive that is also used it the productions of plastics. With this logic, we should ban all products containing cornstarch, as it is a primary ingredient in packing peanuts. While we're at it... Because yeast is the organism that produces alcohol in the fermentation process, you should have to be 21 or older to eat bread. It's this kind of simple thinking that makes the world the way it is. Truthfully, I don't know what the ramifications of eating such chemicals would be, however, just because something has an industrial use, doesn't make it harmful. There is certainly a need for the government to do their due diligence' on determining what effects many of these additives have on us, short and long term, but we'll never get that when we have a bunch of blubbering idiots make logic with nonsense.

      No, I don't condone the uses of such food additives. However, simply basing your opinion on "its used in yoga matts, therefore it shouldn't be used in bread" is ridiculous. That's the juxtapositional equivalent to saying "packing 'peanuts' are made of cornstarch, therefore cornstarch should not be used in food." There are millions of food additives, natural or not, that are harmful to our bodies; I'm a firm believer that these additives that are purely used for capital gains should be outlawed but you can't possibly attack these fast food restaurants for doing nothing different than what's done to 90% (not an official statistic) of the food found in our grocery stores.
      There needs to be logic in our oppositions, otherwise, we're no different than the toothless yokels that rationalize bigotry, the elitist whom preach a way of that that of which is unachievable to the commoner, and the radicals of which use scripture to promote their selfish agendas.

    • @ericsuplee7329
      @ericsuplee7329 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Nagaserpent Killer
      We are under the same opinion. I never said it was rational for the the utilization of the aforementioned chemical... It is IRRATIONAL to protest such use because of it's alternative applications, hence the analogy, twice used, cornstarch's industrials and culinarily applications (I mentioned yeast as well).
      My opposition to the content of this video has nothing to do with the uses of said chemical, rather the logic they use to approach their conclusive factors.

    This just proves the point that fast food is total trash. They take ingredients from stretchy additives of garbage and stick it chemically in food. Who cares about bread being stretchy or about something tasting better, is it for 100+grams of sugar and fat? I'm just wondering what hidden trash things are in the soda. Maybe they place some kind of tar extract which is why when you cook soda at a very high temperature it turns into tar and you can slap it on a sandwich like a jelly sandwich. You wouldn't it though; however, why does it turn into that?

  • @grapiken7766

    I'm going to start reading the ingredients on EVERYTHING and I'm going to google every ingredient and find out what it is because I clearly can't rely on the FDA to do that for me even though it is their job, they are not doing a good job in my opinion. Even if there is a one percent chance of this chemical causing cancer they still should have said something. For now on every time they approve something they need to say "We approved this item but here are the side effects," instead of saying it's "safe" to eat.

      I added you because you 1+'d me on my comment about scurrying off to bed. Plus, I'm not so closed minded as to believe that only I have a valid opinion. I still like to see other's points of view. I know there are a lot of juveniles on here that spew hate. I try not to do that. Just because I state an opinion that is different than others does not make me right or wrong......it is just how I feel.

    The United States permits the use of azodicarbonamide at levels up to 45 ppm. It becomes biurea in the dough and rapidly eliminated from the body through excretion - like salt. Salt is used in the manufacture of yoga mats too and typically is 4500 ppm in your bread. So you have 100 times more salt in your bread. Salt intake is associated with a greater risk of stroke and total cardiovascular disease in susceptible people.
