Next up in the fast food series is Subway. I was pleasantly surprised that Subway has some pretty healthy options if you know what bread, meat, and toppings order. Watch to find out!

Fun Fact! here in Ireland Subway were heavily fined for their subs. Testing found that the amount of sugar in a Sub was so high that our highest court ruled that Subway rolls were cake or confectionery and NOT bread. We have a law in Ireland that sugar in bread cannot exceed 2% of the weight of flour included in the dough. Subway has 5 times that.

Soft Boiled Eggs or poached eggs is definitely cheap even as pasture-raised (~$3.00 for 6 eggs), convenient, and healthy to cook with all the best nutrients for the brain. Though eating it everyday may not be everyone's thing. Sardines in water is my next best go. Fermented Sauerkraut, kimchi, and pickles are also convenient to get in stores. So there are products that are healthy, cheap, and convenient with no cooking involved just have to discover them.

I am 72 years old and have always worked outside and on the road so I have to eat quite often how do you fast food restaurant because of the time!!! Once in a while I have time to make my own lunch a couple of times a week the other times I have to stop at a fast food and believe me regardless of the scare tactic he’s putting me through with the cooking ingredients I have never gotten sick eating at any of these places and yes I am not a “ diabetic”😠😠😠🙄🙄🙄👎👎👎

Been waiting for someone to do these videos on fast food!!!! So awesome. THANK YOU. 🙏
His channel came up in my feed and I watched one video and I can't stop watching .
For me, my one cheat day go to was always Taco Bell for dinner. My cheatt day lunch is always Subway. Out here on Long Island, NY the Subway heros and food is expensive. Like $12 for a wrap w/ Sun chips. Its crazy 😲. To NOW KNOW the 2 sandwiches to get if and when I do go back is BEYOND helpful!!! No more wraps. Going to the multi grain small flatbread.
His videos are GOLD. Knowledge is key with what you're eating. Thank you, thank you...thank you!!!
I now create my own salads from home for lunch with cut up chicken from the grill, arugula, spinach, and Tessamae's lemon/garlic healthy dressing for the week.
It's work, but if you put in the time the results are amazing and the blood work comes back even better.

And he doesn't even mention that Subway offers salads made with the same stuff they put in the sandwiches! I can understand not bothering to buy one since anything he would say about them is covered in the sandwiches, but they still deserve a mention! Also, because I have a strange gut, I often just have them put oil, vinegar, salt and pepper on my sandwiches rather than any of the sauces or mayo. The workers are happy to be generous with the amounts and the combination packs a flavor punch.

The best choices to make is avoid processed cheeses, mayo and sauces. Since I love burgers. I typically go for a burger from Burger King. A&W or Harvey’s. Always triple Patty (because I’m very active both in my job and in the gym) and I avoid getting sauces. I only get cheese at A&W because it’s real cheese and they have the option to lettuce wrap your burger for no extra charge. Harvey’s is nice because they have really good angus burgers and multigrain bun options. I also typically ask for no salt on the fries and use minimal ketchup. Hope this helps!

I like to get the oven roasted chicken salad with all the good veggies and topped with the sweet onion dressing. Which is one of the healthier dressing choices besides the vinegar at only 35 calories per serving. :)

The vegetables are OK except for the pickles and the banana peppers. Stick to the whole meat (chicken, turkey, ham and roast beef) and bring your own salad dressing to avoid the seed oils, unless you're OK with mustard as a dressing or just vinegar. Bobby also said the cheese is "legit". With the exception of the salad dressings, this response was extrapolated from Bobby's comments about the sandwiches.

@verdadeiro, I’m sure you don’t cook at home every single day, eventually a few times a year, you will go out and get fast food or to a restaurant that uses crappy oils and basic non organic ingredients. Bobby gave us a few choices from this fast food establishment which is better than starving yourself. There’s not much organic fast food establishments out there. Don’t follow and starve yourself instead but I’m sure you go out and eat this food yourself every now and then but hate on Bobby for sharing a opinion

    • @mariakoufalis1487

@@daliu8819 Based on numerous comments I have read I think the sentiment is not that he is telling people what not to eat or what to choose, but rather that he completely ignored the typical Bobby ‘not approved’ ingredients. In all other resto reviews he will say ‘ I think this is ok even though it has such and such’...In this review not so much. We are aware of the lack of healthy choices at fast food joints so it wasn’t that. It was what felt like deception to many long time followers.

Their ham has sodium erythrobate and sodium nitrate as well. My fave used to be ham and turkey and I cut back to just the turkey. Or I went with the tuna (toasted with pepper jack cheese!). I like the chicken salad when they have it. I ate it open faced using just one bun or turned it into a sub-as-salad. They’re very accommodating that way and the tuna or turkey or the rotisserie chicken strips seem to do especially well and you can pile on toppings. I avoid the regular chicken strips (yeast extract) and the teriyaki chicken has a couple of different yeast extracts and sodium benzoate a couple of places - chicken and sauce). Just take your own dressing or use vinegar and a little of their oil - canola and olive oil blend - and some guacamole. Mixed together it’s pretty good on the turkey or rotisserie chicken sub made into a salad.
