    This is one of those kits that a builder needs to buy four or five. Lots of extra parts and a cool body style to build for a dilapidated junk yard diorama.
    Also, it is one of those kits that lends itself to an endless variety of kit-bashing. The seperate frame, axle, and chassis components really lends itself
    to those guys and gals that want to really create some crazy hot rod / rat rod / custom stuff. This is one that surely won't disappoint !

    Yeah! Nice kit. Kudos to Round2 for their approach. They obviously get that many modelers like to customize to their own tastes (besides color scheme and whatnot) and by providing all those options you can easily make a model that looks entirely unique. That gives you a lot of room to be as artistic and creative about it as you want to be without spending all the money on aftermarket parts and stuff. It makes modeling more like art and less like duplication. I like what you chose to do and it came out spectacular and it's a unique build that has your signature on it. Cool beans.

    This 37 Chevy kit has been a favorite of mine for years! I will be building a salt version with skinnies and steelies, plus the modified six engine from the 51 Chevy coupe kit. I would like the chassis to be updated, and I know that won’t happen for a kit you can buy off the shelf.
    I will also be building a street sleeper version similar to a real 37 that has a turbocharged 292 six, that can dip into the upper 9’s in the quarter, and streetable. I saw that car run at MoKan Dragway.
    I also want to build another model that could’ve been one from my Dad’s upbringing as a child, ole Stovebolt six, maybe pea green style paint of the era.
    The hubcaps also make for good steel wheel caps for later cars and trucks if you want to make a mod on a 40’s to some 60’s cars or trucks. I did that!
    I actually want a real steel one for me to build and drive!

    The Salt Shaker issue I remember from about 1982 had a set of tall plastic salt flat style race tires that were black interlocking halves. These were around the timeframe when AMT was evolving to nylon tires in the car kits. Some kits did have nylon tires, but not all.
    I may be starting to show my age and memory.

    Pretty kit. Kinda special/ackward way to make a 3 in 1. Seems to be well maintained by Round2. Tho, what's fun with X in 1, is that it can quickly become infinite in 1. The combo you can make that they didn't themselves think about and all that... Just for the salt racer, they seems to have made it a modern type build. But looking at vintage pictures, you could use all 4 stock rims and wheels. And heck, if you can fit the stock rims in the slick, you can make another design too!
    And as always, your build is awesome.

    I'm building this one right now and am alittle disappointed. I tried to fit everything before painting. Had to take away quite a bit of the fenders in the front to fit the pipes. The motor sits pretty high and it barely fits under the hood. And the "instructions" suck. A problem with all AMT kits and not for beginners. Looks like you didn't have to do much extra. Looks nice! Your video helped me understand how some parts go together, like the exaust pipes. I'll put the Chevy Plate in my back window too.

  • @markfergerson2145
    @markfergerson2145 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was a little worried about your paint choices until you put it all together- now I'm a believer. Not the exhaust colors though, I wish they'd sold transparent paints back in the 60s. Trying to get that look with Testors enamels (all that was available where I lived) was a serious pain.
    Your end "beauty shots" photography is steadily improving. That looks like a real car, clear hood and all (custom-made plexiglass show hoods were a thing for a while).
    That stovebolt would look bitchin' in a shop diorama, being removed from a car getting rebuilt.
