I've known Joey for 20+ years. I promise you he accepts nothing less than perfection in everything he does. From model cars to real cars. Regardless of what you throw at him, he will figure it out. Joey will go above and beyond to provide function with form with anything he creates. He will go the extra mile to explain things, offer critiquing, and offer guidance. I cant say enough good things about this dude. He has helped me with so many things over the years, and I'm not surprised to see him continue to impress. Hit him up. You will not be disappointed.

This one brings back memories! Built this kit some time in the late 1990s/early 2000s and painted it in red as well. I loved the build options available in the kit and I'd love to get one again. Like where this current build is going.

LOVE those bead-lok drag wheels; so realistic looking. Beautiful paint job too and I like your tip about darkening the panel gaps. Since that red is slightly translucent, the black gaps add a 3D dimension to the door openings. GOOD STUFF!

I have a real 39 Ford coupe. This is a neat kit, and you did a great job on the modifications. A lot of people may not know the panel truck was a larger vehicle and the body parts did not fit the sedan delivery. The panel truck had two rear doors and the delivery had one large door. This looks fast sitting still.

I really envy guys who can build a box stock model because for some reason I just can't.
I can tell you still have fun with your building and don't over think everything. I tend to get a little burnt out half way through because I try to do too much detail. Kinda feels like work, instead of fun.
BTW, That paint job is killer slick and deep looking like I try to get on mine.😎👍

Hi mat, from the land down under.
    Van is looking great 👍.
In regards to using aluminium, I am in the middle of building a dodge challenger drag car and have used .5 aluminium sheet extensively throughout the car.
    Interior, dash, wheel tubs, floorpan
And engine bay. Easy to work with and looks fantastic when polished. I have never attempted anything like it before, but decided to go all out with it and am glad I did. Makes a huge difference to the overall realism of the kit.
Was good to see someone else trying it too. Keep up the good work, and am looking forward to seeing it finished 👍

Ur build is coming along great!! Like the color choice!! I started kitbashing and scratch building ~ 2 yrs ago. Now I can't build seem to build box stock. There is always something I modify or add w/ each kit. All that started w/ my discovery of guys that have 'SHAPEways 3d printing' shops. Now u have added to that by introducing me to Mr. Mazzarella....Tks!!! 🙄 BTW....I'm really enjoying Heather's build! She really has a good 'hot rod' design eye!

Dude! What a paint job! You are on your way. I love what you're doing with the kit. You have a great build started. Don't let up. Keep it going. Use your imagination and run with it. The tires and wheels are a great contribution to the build. I love the color. I love the stance you're working toward and the big block mill is a solid choice. Keep it going Dude. Again, you're on your way.

Lookin' good, Matthew. It's fun scratch building. I'm also new to scratch building and find that I enjoy it so much more than building out of the box. I'm still a newbe to it and haven't build much of anything since the mid 1960's, but the scratch build and modification makes it really fun. Ya...it takes a lot longer to complete a build, but so worth it. I'm working on a '34 Ford Pickup and trying to make it look like I remember my grandfathers '34 pickup looked. My major learning curve is painting, rusting and aging. I really never did that before so I'm nervous. Between you, Mark Batson, BG, Luka Cee and others, I'm learning. Keep making those video's my friend. I'm looking forward to seeing Heathers finished build too and now can't wait to see your panel van finished. Merry Christmas to you and Heather. May you have a wonderful holiday.

Note the placement of the filler cap on the side as it relates to the tank in the back!
Of course this my not apply to this build but to street rods it should be a consideration.

My LHS just stocked MCW paints and I was so happy, we can argue till we're old and grey but Testors enamels always produced the best enamel paint when used properly. MCW is the best replacement I can think of for those who use real auto paints as they use the exact same mixtures. You could use this stuff as OEM touch up paint (Minus the fading issues from real cars) which we proved with my Uncles Panther Pink Cuda. Great choice but you have to use these Enamels just right to get that Mirrored glass effect and a self leveling lacquer thinner is the best choice, then a good wet sand up to 12,000 grit, you'll be able to shave looking in it lol ;) Great video as always Matt.

You did a great job on that chassis.👍 If the pop can idea doesn't work, why not trim some very thin plastic sheet to fit, then cover it with the "dark" side of aluminum foil from the kitchen. Your wife builds models, she'll understand.😉 The wheels are terrific; I hope your friend has great success with his buisness!

The paint is awesome, I'm glad to hear you are going to Jaxcon, I look forward to meeting you, as for the sedan delivery being a car or truck, actually the car and truck shared the same chassis as well as front sheet metal, so I guess it's kind of both or neither, hope that clears things up for you. :)
