The water in the area is unease in the winter. The seasonal winter wind blows from north to the south through the area is relentless. And the notorious current is also strong. Making a ferry trip in the area not very smooth. The ship is going with the strong wind and harsh waves while against the strong current in the winter. 🌊🌊
it’s good to see tia’s spirits uplifted as soon as you landed. getting “sea legs” takes some practice. what you do ahead of time is key. what’s in your stomach, dramamine. once on board, watch the horizon. whatever is stable and not moving helps the stomach deal with the situation.
Seasick really sucks but Tia handled more better than I did and I stayed out there only for 5hrs and you guys over 20 hrs. 2 miles walk to you guys hotel... you guys are amazing. I would have called a Uber or cab after that long ferry ride. Looking forward you guys Okinawa videos!! Aloha
Sea sickness is the worst…i get motion sickness most of the time I’m in a moving vehicle, so i can relate to what Tia has been feeling…hopefully it hasn’t dampened the experience! Loving the Japan series…its making me hyped for my trip in May!
Part of your First Aid kit (bandages, tweezers, sewing kit, antiseptic cream, eye drops) should be motion sickness tablets🤢, immodium💩, Tylenol or other depending on pain or inflammation, cold tablets, antacids. Don't get me started on your EDC gear... 😁
Thanks for making great content! My wife and I currently live in Okinawa. There's a ton to do. One must go is Kokusai Dori in Naha. Basically it's a walking street with tons of restaurants and shops. Also if you have time, swing by a Blue Seal ice cream spot. The Okinawa salt cookie flavor is fantastic. Hope you enjoy your time in Oki!
Welcome to Okinawa!!! I’m Okinawan and so happy to see you guys visiting here! Hope you guys having fun in this island 🥰 if you’re still here, it might be fun to checkout MurasakiMura during a night. They’re going on a little lantern festival.
wow Tia is so beautiful, warm and humble. I love her. Cheveyo is one lucky guy. I am going to travel from Okinawa to Hokkaido in 2024 spring. this is good help. and I will take 3rd class too. happy New Year.
I always wanted to go on one of those overnight ferries but I never thought about sea sickness I dont normally get it but a 20+ hour ordeal might just do me in
The ferry is called the A''Line and you missed the chance of saying Let's Take the 'A' Line. oh come one. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Alright I know... "Take the 'A' Train" is an iconic jazz song. BTW, Kyushu JR has a tourist train named "Let's take the A-Train" after the Jazz song. The train is decorated in old Jazz era interior. Operate between Kumamoto and Misumi. It's a beautiful train and beautiful scenery line, and the destination Misumi is a cute small town by the seaside.
I get seasick too if I’m not pre-loaded with Dramamine. Terrible feeling! 🤢 Did you guys end up getting that shared room to yourselves? Seems like it would be hard to sleep if other people are moving around, making noise, or using any light sources.
Hello! I want to go to Okinawa from Kagoshima. Would you help me with information about how many cheap ferries and the time in advance is for reservation. Please
If you are in Kagoshima city I recommend going to the port and asking about booking a ticket. The websites are all in Japanese and I think you will have better luck in-person. As for how long you need to book ahead, we did it a few days in advance. But we went in winter, summer is usually busier.
Now imagine having that sea sickness on every single mode of transportation... how is there no cure for motion sickness yet?!!?!? My husband and I travel a lot too and I have to plan out days to be sick 😅
Having a bed for the first time in a week? That's bliss. Merry Christmas guys.

So lucky that you have each other through good times and bad.

Love how you guys keep trying to avoid taking as many planes as possible 😂
I got married in Naha 49 years ago! Enjoy Okinawa! 😃
You got married in a really beautiful area 😊
Loving your Japan series! Seriously going off the beaten path. Hope you’ll be able to make it to Taiwan, you’re so close!
Definitely going to Taiwan 😊
So sorry you got sick Tia😔! Never again I bet? Merry Christmas you guys!! Love you .
Merry Christmas 😊❤️
up until dec 1-2 it was in the mid 70's in okinawa. The ship sailed on the warm weather unfortunately
It must have sucked having seasickness with all those people around! I'm glad that you felt better when the ride was over!
It definitely made it a bit more awkward being in a room with so many other people 😅
Good evening.
Arisa and Papa enjoyed your videos.
It was so beautiful.
As a Japanese, I was happy.
Thank you very much.
Have a good year!
Happy New Year 😊
So glad you enjoyed the video.
Loved the video, well worth a coffee
Thank you so much 😊
Glad you enjoyed the video.

Yea I don't usually get it either but I guess that journey was just long enough 😅
Like #1 from Gilbert, AZ.

At least now you know that always carry Dramamine for Tia in the future.
Yea, lesson definitely learned on that one.
Merry Christmas to you both. I am looking forward to your 2023 videos. Are you thinking of going back to Vietnam at all ?
Sea sick nooo thats horrible
Just incase next vlog is after 2022
Happy New Year
Roll on more adventures 2023 🤜🤛
Is this Naha?
I get seasick too if I’m not pre-loaded with Dramamine. Terrible feeling! 🤢
Did you guys end up getting that shared room to yourselves? Seems like it would be hard to sleep if other people are moving around, making noise, or using any light sources.
Oh wow. I've been sea sick. Get yoslelves some dramamine for the next 26 hour ferry ride. #freeadvice
If the weather is really very hot, please take off your wind, water resistant jackets 😜

What editing software do you guys use?
Final Cut Pro 🙂
@@OnePackWanderers Thank you!
Are you guys still in Okinawa? If so reach out. I live here with my family and we can help you enjoy the new year!
Unfortunately, we have left already! On Amami now with Tia's family 🙂
😊👍🏼
FYI: boats go on ships , ships sink boats. Like she said “ It’s a matter of size”
Shame they did not sell 'Sea Legs' or similar onboard.
We're buying some before the next ferry ride, that's for sure.
You guys have seen more of Japan than most Japanese people. Too bad I couldn't stay more than 10 days
How as your trip? 🙂
@@OnePackWanderers safe to say I will return next year for sure 😊

1 year later, still in japan
Hahaha we have been here a while. Almost as long as we were in Thailand.
A A A she is Japan
