I want to know more about how foreigners feel about leaving in the Nagano prefecture area, can you do a interview about that. どもありがと for the video Takashi san
Kyoto is a very touristic city. Because of the pandemic there have been fewer tourists over the last two years, especially foreign ones. I hear some people are happy about this, for it's more peaceful, while I guess others are not, if their business depends on visitors, for instance. You might ask people in Kyoto what they think about this matter. Do they think Japan should allow foreigners tourist to come and visit again? In general, I love rural Japan, so if you happen to visit more remote places, I'd love if you could interview people there. Anyway, thanks for the intersting content.
Of course the main island of Okinawa is beautiful, and people are relatively friendly and warm (at least compared to typical residents of cities in other areas of Japan) but the Okinawan (Yaeyama) islands further south are on another level altogether. I’ve been to Ishigaki Island a couple or times with my family, and it’s just amazing. It just feels…magic being there. Less developed. Less English spoken. And everyone drives under the speed limit. But once you experience that feeling once, it keeps a hold on you forever, and you always dream of going back. (No I’m not getting money from the Okinawa Tourism Promotion society or anything. Really! 😆)
Haha, you're a legend! I heard it said once (I played touch footie with islanders (Fiji, Samoa, Cook Islanders etc) that they can have "island mentality" which means: "There is a problem? Then just go to the beach... no problem!" 😀 I think it might have a hint of truth if such a life style is afforded where "nature meets you more than half-way"! Blessing to such people.
@@commentarytalk1446 yeah, I guess if we’re surrounded by amazing nature every day, it’s hard to worry too much about things. You just go outside, breath in the floral-scented; slightly salty air, and everything seems okay. (A closely-knit, warm community doesn’t hurt either I guess.)
I grew up in the Caribbean so hearing the guy from Texas detail a nice path to visit Okinawa, from south to north, was interesting. I cannot wait to see the beaches. Gives me an idea of how to plan my trip when the times comes. It also makes sense that more people get the chance to learn English where there is the base and more foreigners compared to other parts where some Japanese people may not meet foreigners often in their daily interactions.
Hi Takashi, I would love to see interviews with the locals in Okinawa as well, especially with elderly people who have been there a long time. I love your videos, keep up the good work!
I love watching your vids. You interview just average people on the street and get their honest opinions. This channel has been much more eye-opening and informative about life in Japan than many other channels.
Okinawa seems like a lovely place. I do wish that foreigners who are staying in Japan for several years would put in the effort to learn Japanese though.

I just found this video. I am a foreigner who used to live in Okinawa. But unlike the majority, I am not an American military person (nor American in general) and no one anywhere else in the world, including mainland Japan, would look at me and think I am but Okinawan people would assume I am, because probably 99% of foreigners living in Oki are and that is the one thing that has bothered me. Not just the native locals have very complex feelings about Americans occupying their land. But then, Japan did it first. And the presence of an American influence is one of the things that makes Okinawa so different. I loved living in Okinawa. I eventually moved to the mainland because I wanted be closer to exciting stuff but I want to retire in Oki for sure:') The people are great, the food is my favourite from anywhere else in Japan and it's just chill and inexpensive. Like, some people in Tokyo pay as much rent for their cardboard sized apartments as I did for my 3 room flat next to a beautiful beach. And the weather is fine (if we ignore the amount of typhoons). It's much easier to deal with the heat when you are surrounded by sea breeze than when there are hellish temperatures in big cities on mainland.
We just returned from Okinawa last night to our home in Osaka. We loved it! Very nice people, excellent roads, and maybe the most beautiful place I’ve been. Considering the the crime in Hawaii and the hatred shown by so called Hawaiians towards white, Japanese, and Chinese I believe Okinawa is a way better choice.
Great points! I just arrived in Okinawa and I lived and worked in Hawaii recently for 6 months. So far I think Hawaii is better. That said, I haven’t really explored Okinawa too much yet… I may update this comment at the end of my trip.

I just arrived in Okinawa a few days ago… So far, the places I’ve gone Japanese people don’t really know English - which is okay for me since I can speak a little Japanese.
Okinawa island reminds me with bali. Both islands are warm and beautiful. If i had a lot of money to travel overseas and covid was over for good, i would like to pay a visit on okinawa island, osaka and tokyo. Those place look amazing and interesting for me.
Okinawa is kind of like one of our next-door neighbors, because there's nothing except ocean between our two archipelagos. My grandparents had friends from Okinawa who would come to Saipan every other year or so, and they would always throw them a party to celebrate their visit.
I hope someday I can visit Okinawa. I visited Japan first time, 4 nights in Dec 2007: Tokyo, Kamakura, Yokohama with a Vietnamese lady who went with me. In April 2015 we visited with a small tours in Hiroshima, Kyoto, then back to Tokyo, 6, 7 nights total
Hi Takashi! Next time you come to Okinawa, let me know! It would be cool to link up as I’m a foreigner living here who is not associated with the military!
Firstly I really enjoy your Vlogs. I am British and it seems the Americans have a similar attitude in that they expect the locals to speak English and don't put themselves out to learn Japanese. I must admit that I have been to the Philippines 22 times over a ten year period and I only know a few words of Tagalog and bisayas. I guess I have the same attitude either you speak English or we can't communicate.

So far, the places I’ve gone Japanese people don’t really know English - which is okay for me since I can speak a little Japanese.
Okinawa on social media: 🌊🏖👙🌸🌼☀️
Okinawa irl:🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅🦅🔥🔥🔥
Takashii u are the best ❤️
Back in your interview, you talked about directing a show. I would really love to see skits or shots that you've wanted to try.
Yamaguchi is a nice place to live, almost zero crime, very safe, very beautiful, but not overly exciting.
山口はあまり目立たない土地ですが 政治家の多い地域ですね😊 どうでもいいですが
Thank you for the interviews. To the 2nd interviewee, Texas is NOT landlocked. Texas has beaches!
Hello I'm from Micronesia I live in Nokia Japan. I like coconut very much I wish to stay there in the future.
Keep it up, awesome content!
You should ask what do they love most about their city?
Go to Sendai, love that city.
I. LOVED Okinawa 😍😍!!! It's like Japan's Hawaii!! My ex wife is Okinawanian.
Okinawa island reminds me with bali. Both islands are warm and beautiful. If i had a lot of money to travel overseas and covid was over for good, i would like to pay a visit on okinawa island, osaka and tokyo. Those place look amazing and interesting for me.
My son was born in Okinawa. Love Japan and my time there.
Seems a really nice vibe in Okinawa 😌
Please interview people in Tottori! I'd like to know more about the mindset of the least densely populated prefecture 🙂
Great topic, but I rather have you interview local people who grew up there. Hope it's coming up.
Hi Takashi! Next time you come to Okinawa, let me know! It would be cool to link up as I’m a foreigner living here who is not associated with the military!
I think Takashi (The Host) is Really Cute! 💙💙💙💙
Luuuuv ur channel! 😁
