I have worn hats most my adult life. I am from a rural area and mostly wore western hats but always got negative responses and made me self conscious when wearing one. I started wearing a fedora lately and get no negative comments about that style. This longshoreman’s hat sparks my interest.
Yeah, you never know how people are going to react. When they react negatively, I just wonder if they really know what others think about them. 😁

Greg, you should do video on the ‘Stormy Kromer’. It’s not really a warm weather Florida hat, but very nice hat for cooler weather.

p.s. 'Miki' is derivative of the Inuktitut word Mikisoqq, which means 'little'. I wasn't there so I can't testify to this, but the story is that when the French were exploring northern Quebec around 3000000000 years ago, they noticed the local people wearing little caps made from walrus skins to keep their heads warm. The caps were called Mikisoqq, and the French took that back to France where the caps became known as Miki caps, which were generally made of wool or corduroy.

Firstly, i dont know if Im experincing GregEnvy, BeardEnvy or Bromance, but you look way too good with your increased-capacity beard.
Secondly, a docker cap is (for me) the best headwear for a bearded man of any age, although if a man is both bearded and bald/shaved, I prefer to see no hat or cap at all, but thats just my unimportant preference
Thirdly, in the latest episode of 'My Father, The London Milliner', he would have insisted that there are three rules for a docker cap (or rather, what we in the UK call a 'skully', and the three rules are:
1. only chefs and prisoners should wear a skully (which I absolutely disagree with)
2. The colour of a man's skully should always be darker than his beard, assuming he's a chef or a prisoner, and assuming he has a beard. This is fine for men with white or blonde beards but not so much for men with black or dark beards
3. Never remove the label on the side of a skully.
