    Problem.with the pole I had aswell , but on one side of the tent you can loosen a strap which malkes it much easier, there's only a strap on one side btw

    Regarding the boots take a plastic bag to put them in, you can keep them in tent with you then if you want which will keep them warm in cold weather.

      Good idea actually. If very cold I have used disposable hand warmers in them, but it's a bit environmentally unfriendly.

    The tent is quite a unique design that suited my needs so I kept it despite the pole!
    I undid the pole bungee and cut 20mm from one of the middle poles (the end poles have a dimple to screw in the fittings) and reassembled it. 20 minute easy job. Works a treat now

    I have this tent find it really good for wild camping. The problem with the pole is very easy to do simple connect one end of it then stand up . Then put the end connected under your foot take other end push down on it then it should be easy to connect .

    I saw you struggling with the pole “pocket” . I knew this was as issue cause I’d watched some Bobcat videos so I was alerted. Anyway, I have the Bobcat 1. I really like it but I’am glad I’am not taller than 6 feet. I like that I can sit up in it. Om!

    Reminded me at first of a cross between a phoenix phreeranger and phoenix phreebooter. Don't know if anyone remembers these brilliant tents. Had the phreebooter first, but a bit heavy for solo use so changed to the phreeranger. Loved that little tent. It was similar to this bobcat but the back wall didn't slope into you due to a small pole at the highest point of the main hoop but at right angles to it. I believe Trekkertent did replicas of them but they seem to be unavailable now. Last I heard they were 380 quid though! This bobcat does seem to be great value.

    • @RambloManiacs
      @RambloManiacs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a small naturehike tent which is similar but has that small pole at the top like you mentioned. I don't think it has a full inner tho

    This packed down seems very large for a one man, is this just me but I have a 2 man by Vango that packs at least a third smaller than this. Is it me? the angle of the cam/perspective?

    • @RambloManiacs
      @RambloManiacs  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a reasonable size for a 2 skin fairly robust tent. It is 1.9kg so not particularly lightweight, but quite versatile and robust for the cost. Would never pay some of the ridiculous RRPs that are stated sometimes.

      Correct. I noticed the little strap and sorted it no probs. I was going to mod the tent to sort the sag at the back of the tent, but think I'll use the trekking pole method.

    I've used mine in all weathers, including winter with high winds and driving rain and sleet. I pitch with the inner in place as it's a real faff to try to hook it up when the conditions are against you. Good points are that it's cheap, quick to erect, light and very waterproof. However, there are two bad points. Normally you would pitch with the "vestibule" on the leeward side but, because of the shape of the tent, this presents the entire profile to the prevailing wind - aerodynamic it ain't. Any wind will push the outer and inner against you when you're in your sack, robbing what little space you have. I use a delta peg on this windward guy but it doesn't stop it. Secondly, it's tight in that inner and getting gear on and off is a real challenge. If you suffer from leg cramps in the morning, it's a killer!

    • @RambloManiacs
      @RambloManiacs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment.
      I'm a short ass so not so bad for me with space. It still tight to move around though.
      It Should be quick to erect and it would be if it weren't for that bloody pole. I literally bent the pole getting it in second time around.

      I'm 6ft 1" , have used this around Snowdonia, the Peaks, and the Lake District in bad weather yet I don't understand the problems you are all having ! Maybe you are all not pitching it right, or are just clumsy. The bit when he was sitting talking about reading and having to lean over, just move your arse over, there was room, silly.

      I have this tent and although a little on the small side for anyone my height 5' 11" or over its surprisingly good value for the price. Had mine up in heavy downpours and kept dry and its stood up to gale force winds. But getting the pole in is a bugger and l'm relatively fit and strong. One tip, tie 6 inches or so of para cord to each end, knot it at the end stand on it, and you'll find it easier. But overall not a bad tent if you're on a budget.
