Did you not know that? On that subject, a Smith Everest is currently viewed in much higher esteem and is harder to get and of course you could always top it with a vulcain as worn by the Italians when they conquered K2. I’ve never quite understood the mystique of “this watch has been up Everest”
@@Robert-vw3od Is a new Smith’s Everest from Timefactors harder to get than a new Explorer? I’d thought it was a bit tricky to get one when they open the online shop every few months but hadn’t realised it was harder than the Rolex
Just shifted this video from my cell phone to TV and realized it has 5.1 surround sound. STRONG recommendation to watch this with surround. The background music coming out of the satellites and the main voice over from the center is a total premium touch.
I can’t wait for your videos to drop. “My wife didn’t believe I couldn’t float” made me think your wife has been talking with my wife. Your subtle humor makes your videos true gems. Please don’t stop making them.
Your “Sky Dweller” bit had me giggling so I played it for my wife when she asked what was so funny. Turns out some people have no appreciation for flatulence humor. Fortunately, my 12 & 14 year-old boys heard it too & found it hilarious.
This guy’s sense of humor & wit is top notch! There’s a lot of watches I’d prefer over a Rolex, but I still feel it’s a staple of anyone’s collection. (Not that I can afford it lol)
Loving your narration and great repartee. You are a natural at this and have a great command of the English language. I always look out for your videos. Keep up the great work. Thank you.
Acorn hitting a car roof. That was completely unexpected in this particular TH-cam setting, making it probably one of the funniest things I’ve heard you say. 😂
This video is written so well and the wit is delivered in just the right amount of British Sarcasm. Awesome work my man, keep it up and being brilliant 🤙
Keeping with Andrew’s spirit of sarcasm, I found some informative segments of Rolex history interspersed within what I guess was a program of advertisements.
Hey Andrew, great video as always. Your way of presenting is great. Just out of curiosity, do you shoot the video's where you are showcasing the watches yourself?
Rolex prices ticking over retail is not the norm. It is an aberation that started in late 2016. We have correcting back to baseline for the last 2 years. Rolex make more watches at a higher rate every year but the world isnt doing the same with 1 percenters each year to keep the prices elevated.
It seems that here in Canada they have not heard that Rolex watches are available. At least my inquiries were met with we don’t have stock and we don’t have waitlist and oh, by the way are you interested in a gold date just… I bought an Omega.
I avoided watching this because I thought it was another cookie cutter “these bi-Metal and white gold Rolex watches are cheap now”, but I’m glad I finally ran out of other videos and clicked on this…. Andrew never disappoints! Fine work as usual.
The list of Daytonas and Yachtmasters that can be found under retail is a lot longer than the one’s mentioned. Black 226570 is also under retail. All in all, it would have been easier to make a list of Rolex models that still can be traded or flipped for a profit, as these are fewer than the one’s which yield a profit.
Ok Andrew, I have several beautiful Rolex watches. I happen to love the the look of the The YachtMaster II! That Ceramic blue bezel is an amazing piece of art. I will never use the timer, and will never race a yacht ( I may own one some day). I have never even used the timer for anything, as my iPhone has a nicer timer. The watch is too big for me at 44mm. However, I still really love this watch and wear it often. I have been wearing my white dial Sky Dweller lately, but I still have a special place in my heart for the YMII.
Last Rolex I bought a Rolex was 1999. It was a GMT pepsi, I paid retail price minus 5% discount, plus a Tiffany silver key-holder as a gift from the dealer. I still have the box and papers, but the GMT has been stollen. RIP.
Andrew is on fire today! Great video! I am a big fan of the YM lineup, so let us hope the sale prices persist while the watch purchase bank account refills. It was a big start to 2024 as I rounded out the Panerai collection, so we have a bit of wait. As part of the PAM buying spree, I picked up two precious metal, a white gold and a red gold. They were just too good a price to pass up, coming in not a great lot higher than the SS versions. I must admit, I never saw the value in the more expensive metal, but I am gradually becoming a convert. Being able to nab some PM, or part PM, Rolex at favorable pricing seems like a solid plan.
Great video! After being on a waitlist for years for a sub or Batman, I'm actively trying to purchase an SD43 on Chrono. I keep seeing videos like yours that these can be procured below retail. But I am seeing over retail for all model years except for surprisingly the Mark 1 2017 versions. All the used watches I'm seeing are also polished which I believe would impact the value of the watch if I trade it in in the future. I try to negotiate but having no luck to get below retail. Any advice?
I am loving the grey market drop. Dealers are now selling watches to ordinary buyers as grey market dealers have exited the market. I just bought a 36mm blue dial Datejust with a fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet, at my local A.D., for my wifes anniversary present...
Went to my Rolex ad 2 weeks ago and he told me the polar explorer 2 was as hard to get as a panda Daytona... I'm pretty much done trying to get a Rolex
Quite the "Rolex futures" piece here, Andrew. For me, the first Yacht Master was most-intriguing, but at that (slightly-reduced) price, the farthest I'll go with anything vaguely referring to yachting is a copy of The Police's *Regatta de Blanc* .
supply and demand, theres no demand for something 2nd hand used or put in a safe as an investment. your industry has been fleecing customers for far too long and its payback time. suck it up circa 1m+ bolexes made a year and people think its some kind of rare element
Don't know if it was the intention, but I laughed out loud all the way through this video. Hugely entertaining now you have broken free of the decency shackles of Watchfinder.🤭
I can't swim, much less afford to own or race a yacht in 4 lifetimes, but I'm strangely attracted (and have always been since I first saw it 20 years ago) to the Yacht Master II. If I had one "last" watch to get, it would be a Yacht Master II in Blue, White, Gold.
I have zero inclination to pay over the odds just to have a five-pointed crown on a watch when other brands do the same for much less of my hard-earned.
Turns out Edmund Hillary isn’t British, he’s from New Zealand… whoops! I was thinking of John Hunt, the expedition leader.

Tenzing was from Folkestone though, honest.

Absolute masterclass of a video about Rolex watches. "Sky dweller might sound like a euphemism for an air biscuit." That one got me 😅
"Acorn hitting a car roof" 😂 Cue bewildered trigger happy cop....
Every time I race my yacht I COUNT on my Rolex to get me to the start line on time! Thank you ROLEX!!!!!!!!
I just had rolex build my yacht and the thing gets itself to the start line
When ordered, what arrived quicker, Rolex or Yacht?

"harder to spot from a passing moped" ooof, the sting of reality for watch owners these days.
Your “Sky Dweller” bit had me giggling so I played it for my wife when she asked what was so funny. Turns out some people have no appreciation for flatulence humor. Fortunately, my 12 & 14 year-old boys heard it too & found it hilarious.

Andrew's description of the colors on the GMT is a bit unhinged. I love it
Loving your narration and great repartee. You are a natural at this and have a great command of the English language. I always look out for your videos. Keep up the great work. Thank you.
Watchfinder will be nothing without you sir. Great video!
That 996 911 joke had me dying as both a car and watch enthusiast
I love the unhinged Andrew commentary no longer being bound byWatchfinder
The acorn line absolutely killed me. Talk about "shots fired" 🤣🤣🤣
God bless your sense of humor Andrew. You're a gem to watch community!
Never Change Brother!!
Thanks Andrew, another mind-bending creative narration or shall I say, jet-laggingly brilliant video.
Thanks for watching!

That James Corden burn was spot on 😂
Outstanding script Andrew. Some genuine lol moments in this one! Great information too 👏👏👏

Glad to see and hear the real you on here! Truly enjoyed the non filter descriptions too. 👍🏽
I lost every yacht race until I bought the yachtmaster. Then I was a master of yachts.
You've dialed up the humor, and I love it! 😂
What a calming,
Relaxing voice, makes me wanna go buy another Rolex, just because Andrew said so.. i love it!
Always the best watch content on the internet. Thank you Andrew
Came here to hear about pricing and actually came away learning more history on Rolex models than anywhere. Impressive...
The steel seadweller red writing is the sweet spot of the divers range, the fact you can get them cheap is a bonus
The Hillary remark was spot on👍 The LA Times remark is also spot on😎

Correct… Always lost money from MSRP before the white 116520 went over retail.
I'll never own a rolex but really value these hilarious updates. What about rolexes that sell for a premium next?
Great sharing ❤
I like the renewed freedom of expression this channel has!
I do love the old yacht master. But love the funny commentary 😂
what is that watch analytics site you use?
I've not heard a Richard Gere/Rodent reference in 20+ years.
Bravo! I did laugh.
New edgier Andrew laying into the yachtmaster and joking about watch thefts is great
The Explorer joke took me over the top 😂😂😂
