I missed it when madden wasn't afraid to put a rock or metal song within its soundtracks, in fates hands anyone? Or does anyone remember when madden 10 had a rock heavy soundtrack that featured judas priest, pantera, korn, black sabbath, iron maiden, rage against the machine and mother fucking slipknot? Prestige remembers.
I use to recommend that Madden put a rock song in the soundtrack, but people would just reply with "Nah rap is better and more popular". I don't care what's better, I just want variety.
I love classic hip hop I’m 27 years old…modern madden music is trash! Who wants to listen to edited trap music?? It’s pure trash and alienates many fans. I just play Spotify through my ps4
Madden06 was so deep, I actually had a physical notepad that I used for a scouting book. Yes I would actually sim seasons of NCAA Football, write down the Names of the Top players & award winners & add them to my draft board because you could import draft classes from NCAA. I literally drafted players onto madden that I had followed since their freshman year lol. I had so many draft steals because I had guys in late rounds that I saw have incredible seasons in college so I knew they were good players. I don't think EA will ever get that deep again.
The saddest thing about this is Gen Z will never get to see a time when greed wasn't set to 99, people in the old times did things for the love of, NOT just for cold hard cash and greed.The reason gaming is declining is because it's not about being creative, not about being excited about what your doing, it's just about quick cash and that's become society, money at any cost with no ethics, no morals.EA is more than a gaming company they're what's wrong with society entirely.
While a lot of AAA gaming is going that route, there's still some good stuff out there. Single-player games are relatively unaffected by this wave of money-hungry games, especially indie titles. I can boot up Hollow Knight, Celeste, BoTW, etc. and get games that are still one-time purchases. At most, there's paid DLC, which isn't really that bad. And in terms of multiplayer, fighting games are a genre that can be monetarily exploited as easily as sports games.
So true especially for sports games. EA and 2K care more about micro transactions to make a quick buck than to actually make a simulation sports game. They’ve got kids addicted to gambling with MUT. They’ve become obsessed with “culture” and looking cool, like who cares if you can play as Migos in Superstar KO lol. What’s crazy is soo many people would dish out the cash if they made a game like Madden 07 or NFL 2K5 again. We’ve been screaming for it. We grew up on classics like MVP Baseball, when FIFA was actually good, NFL Street and so much more. At least companies like Rockstar & Naughty Dog still make quality video games. Playing RDR2 & TLOU series gave me hope there’s still quality in video games but it’s really rare.
Madden 07 is so nostalgic to me. When I was a dumb naive little 9 year old, all I would play was Madden and NHL 07. Those were the best memories I've ever had as a kid. Me creating my own players with a deep and immersive franchise mode was some of the best experiences I've ever had. I've been watching your videos since 2019, and all I gotta say is, I love your content and it's always a blessing when you upload. You're the guy that made me realize that emulating old Madden games and playing them in 4k was a possibility, and I will be eternally grateful for that. I can ramble on all day about how new Madden sucks, and how I've been watching your channel from your first Madden bad video to Liquid Fever and present day. But I just wanted to say thank you for delivering top notch content and for being one of my favorite TH-cam creators. Madden 07 for life 😄.
@@victorhardin2186 oh yeah. I used to draft Vince Young as a rookie. He was a 79 I think. By the end of the first season I could make him a 90 something rating. It's been awhile since I've played it. But yeah it was cool how the players attributes could go up or down based on stats.

I used to play nfl 2k2 religiously nonstop all day. I was so amazed at the smooth organic animations and the insanely realistic passing trajectories. Then the broadcast presentation was next to none. While playing season mode I threw a Lil bit too high lob pass to Tim brown while on the run even though he still caught it. Seconds later while showing a replay the commentary team was specifically talking about how my feet was not set while throwing and joked about Tim brown having jump boosters on while showing a vertical scale to show how high he jumped. That's the moment I started to realized how superior 2k was🔥
Madden nfl 07 on PS2 was my first madden game and what made me a lifetime football fan. It helped me understand what I was seeing on TV as a kid every Sunday watching football with my dad.
Another thing, in Superstar Mode you could import your NCAA 07 Campus legend and play out that career. The stories and lore man made investing worth it in a career mode!
Brooo yes. That was the most satisfying shit. I also loved how in both games your menu in superstar was your living space. And it upgraded as you went through your career. It’s the little stuff like that they actually used to put effort into
NCAA was so good back then...funny how EA couldn't do ultimate team on college players so they canned NCAA.. LOSERS!!!! How ironic EA is bringing it back the moment they college kids can make money...
For some reason when I imported him Madden 07 turned my 99 OVR, 4 Heisman winning dual threat QB who was black into a white stoner looking guy with blonde dreadlocks who was only 70 OVR. The most hilarious thing that's ever happened to me in a video game.
Still play Madden 07 & NCAA 07 on my PS2. It's wild how good it is. Really looking forward to whatever 2k cooks up in the next few years when they get back in the space.

I feel these comments! I'm currently playing my 27th season in dynasty mode on NCAA 07 and about to start a franchise mode on Madden 07 once I get the right draft class(s) imported 💯💯
I loved making my own play book and took my high schools team playbook to madden and to learn the playbook, I would use the playbook as my teams playbook when I played with friends. Friends loved that the team playbook was there and I gave copies of that to them to play for themselves. I think it helped us know the playbook and how we won a state championship.
I actually got this and ncaa 07 again, been playing this since and having a blast! Can't believe the detail they put in both of these games, they actually cared about the game
Even though I liked the Xbox 360 versions of the NCAA Football games, NCAA Football 07 for the PS2 is the best game in the series. It just had so many features, game mode depth, and player/team customization that the other games before it didn't have, and more than the NCAA Gamebreaker and NCAA College Football 2K games had.
04-07 Had so much creativity and innovation. The depth these games had was incredible and it improved year after year. Match that with the additions of the Hit Stick, Skill Stick, QB Cone (I know this mechanic is somewhat divisive but I actually enjoyed the challenge), Lead Blocker, and improved AI, these games were the complete package and made every August a time to look forward to. The immersion is all but gone with Madden. I no longer feel like I'm in the middle of a NFL season when I play. I feel like I'm playing a half-assed, predetermined, undercooked arcade football game that happens to have NFL licensing. The fun is gone. And there's no excuse other than EA's greed and laziness.
I played the madden games on PC, and Madden 07/08 were goddamn amazing. I still remember exactly what the back of the box looks like! These two games were basically my childhood
I agree with everything, except it having the best Franchise Mode of any American football game. That distinction is still held by Head Coach 09 and *THANK YOU* for doing a Retrospective on it! Can't wait to see it!
After I saw your original video on the downfall of Franchise I wanted to relive my good memories of gaming so I went through my closet found my old ass ps2 and legit went to three different stores to find madden 07 worth it definitely 110%

This game was so amazing. I remember getting together with friends and having tournaments with this game. I loved Superstar Mode and playing through college on NCAA 07 and exporting your character to Madden. Oh the love I have for this game.
That is what it was for back then too. PS2 Madden had the worst blocking until recently. Madden 10-14(25) saw massive improvement until more recent editions. PS2 Madden had only two kinds of blocks: the guy in front of you or pull. Double teams almost don't exist. Lateral movement doesn't at all. No traps or anything of that nature.
If you could give someone madden 22 (series X/ps5) right after madden 07 came out back in 2006, I think there would be some complaints of lost depth and features but overall people would be incredibly Impressed with the graphics and the feel. It would be received incredibly well.. Now do the same think with NBA 2k7 and today’s nba 2K21. It would seem like the damn holy grail of video games. There would not be one negative thing said, the game would literally blow peoples mind. A sports game 15 years in the future should have that reaction of 2k. There should be no comparison at all. It’s night and day. Madden however still would have it’s negatives and there’s aspect of madden 07 that still do things sooo much better than madden 22.

Love what you're doing young man..I've played Madden since the late 80s and I've witnessed and experienced it's decline smh. Keep up the good work and maybe EA will listen and start back caring about the customer for a change lol
This was my most played Madden game. Creating an entire team with all original players (with a few free agents you had to sign to someone) took only about an hour. Plus the soundtrack; there is not one song on that game that doesn't bop or rock!
The vision cone is one of the most realistic things ever added to a football game, which is exactly why everyone hated it. Being an actual QB under pressure isn't supposed to be easy.
FACT! I went back bout 2 years ago...1st on PS2,,then on OGxbox cause it looked and just ran better.. Don't tell 2007 me that though as i was hardcore ps2 fanboy at the time even though i had an xbox for Halo.. *Rumor has it that you can custom playlist and Xbox allows you to drag/drop it into Madden files and ur own music now plays like the soundtrack does. in menu & stadium PA... but i never personally tested this theory....if so it sounds epic!
This is the madden my childhood friends and I still play. I always felt it was the best one, but felt it might be nostalgia. I'm happy to know me and my friends weren't the only ones who loved it.
I was 21 when 07' came out. Besides Halo and SSBM, we played the ever loving shit out of it in college with my roommates. Great times. I can still remember the rosters by heart.

One of the most underrated features from this era is being able to have a franchise mode controlling all the teams and essentially running your own league.
So, it took place little over a year ago (middle of the covid craze). My parents and sister were going to the campsite and it was an hour away from my audiology location and I was already there. I decided to try to wait 3 hours but however, starbucks closed down their dining which prevented me from gaming on my laptop that I brought with me. So, I was driving around town and saw the Game X Change sign and figured "why not". Got in and saw 3 or 4 ps2s and NFL 2k5. Fast forward a year, now I have over 40 ps2 games and 15 ps1 games. I am happy that I went retro and I watched your videos on what to get next to add to my collection. Thanks!
I recently bought a GameCube because I wanted an older system. The store I got it from also had Madden 07 and good lord, it’s easily the best version of Madden on any console I’ve ever played.
I feel like Madden in the Golden age was really fun and the game developers knew what they were doing back then I think my favorite man in my opinion is Madden 09 in the PS 2 or psp

I remember playing Madden 07 on Wii, was flipping amazing, the throwing mechanic was awesome at that time, throwing bullet passes into tight Windows, or lobs on fade routes, using the wiimote was a game changer.
I’d like to request a Luigi’s Mansion (Gamecube) retrospective since you are trying to diverse into other content and since you've done Nintendo games in the past, why not go for a Nintendo console game.
So many memories playing this game. Madden 07 helped me better understand the real game, which was great in a time where information was more difficult to come. The franchise mode is simply amazing. The gameplay was great, you had amazing options to manage your franchise, hiring coordinators, scouting and drafting, building stadium, etc. And the Superstar mode? Amazing. Now you they didn’t bother of building something like that. I bought Madden 19 and I was shocked how bad it was compared to a game from PS2.
I was a QA tester for 07, did a little of everything but the end of the project I was head tester for PAL versions and superstar mode Xbox platform. Good ol days
The Wii version of Madden 07 was actually pretty boss too. Not the motion control stuff, but it did have more features that even some of the others didn’t.
I love Madden NFL 07 I even have my original gamecube copy from 2006 and 15 years later it still works like it came from the game store itself. This game, its features, soundtrack, gameplay, etc makes this Madden one of the most beloved titles of all time. For Madden games on PS1, my favorite would be Madden NFL 2000 since it features so many secret teams that only a handful returned for the PS2 era and by 2012, they were all gone. That game had all 31 NFL teams from 1999 season, pro bowl teams, nfl millennium, madden millennium, all madden team, ea sports, tiburon, decades teams from 60s to 90s, and even 11 fantasy teams like the clowns, comets, sugar buzz, mummies, marshalls, vipers, toymakers, industrials, monsters, praetorians, and junkyard dogs. That game in total had over 50 teams in over 50 stadiums to play with and it be interesting if SoftDrinkTV made a video on Madden NFL 2000 covering the game and all of its secret teams.
Madden 07 is definitely my favorite madden game. It feels like they actually gave a damn about the game and about their customers. The older maddens were so much fun because of the depth and all the things you do. I still have it for ps2 👌
Thanks SDGuy... i needed to know more Golden Era Maddens as 2006,2007,2008,2009 kinda blend in together.. *Why is 2009 considered a letdown? Not just by you but by most.. EVERYONE had that collector;s edition because it was only $10 more or whatever & you got HeadCoach and a cool dvd & case.. BTW,,,i still have my Madden 2009 T-shirt & socks with the "grey/red" logo of 20 years. it's precious to me for sure. but it's a lil big as it's a big large.. **Also have a Madden 13 shirt i won in a contest but it's XL..I won with Buffalo against NewEngland too! I only play my Bills & it's been like that since Madden 92!
The fact that a game made like 15 years ago is literally better at almost everything other than graphics is insane to me. I'm a hard-core madden guy, play hundreds of games a year, have ranked inside the top 100 multiple times with good records (I was 45-3 this year before I stopped playing for now) and it's just sad. I vividly remember this being my favorite madden.
When the older maddens were coming out I was still very young like 7/8 so I never really played them, I always knew current madden was a bad game but I never realized how bad it actually was until your videos, thank you showing me that madden should be even better than it is!

I remember buying this from a Play n' Trade for like $2 for the PS2. I'm not really a big football fan (I love hockey and basketball), but this is a game that I would often come back to multiple times. So much so that I eventually bought NCAA 07 to make a player career and I really do love the decision. Also the soundtrack.... THE SOUNDTRACK. 💯
Just realized this was the only Madden game my dad had on PS2 and I have it sitting with a handful of NCAA games that he gave me, one of which being NCAA Football 14! Super glad to hear I have two of the best of both series.
I remember it like it was yesterday how badly I wanted this game when it came out. I spent hours playing it. Besides school and homework, Madden 07 was my life for the fall and winter of 2006 into 2007. Incredible game.
I am devastated to know that I lived right through the golden age of football video games (born in '03) and now I'm 20 and I haven't bought a Madden in 5 years because they only ever upset me. I hope the day is not too far away when we get real simulation NFL football.

My first Madden game ever. Played in on a laptop. Didn't understand American Football but after I understood the sport, I got into the sport itself and the game too.
Man when I tell u I stayed up allday and night on this game. The mini games were addictive and the Star running backs ran like how they did in real life. SuperStar mode felt more engaging as well. Haircuts,tats, messaging ur agents, actually showing u receive awards
I'll never stop being disappointed at how far Madden and football games have fallen in recent years. Current gen Madden is so ass, my friends and I stopped playing years ago, now we just have the memories.
I played the crap out of this game until 2020 on a franchise (I was probably on my 45th season). I had to buy a new Madden 07 CD around 2018 for $12 on ebay because the old CD got so scratched up with how much I played it. I noticed all the players around the league got better overall ratings (the lowest rating was around the mid 60s) making most of the games high score but really competitive in All-Madden difficulty (mostly because I played 15 minute quarters lol). The reason why I stopped playing was because I got so busy over the years but I am possibly going to make a comeback and pick off where I left off. I still have my PS2 with my memory card. I agree with Softdrink, this is by far the best Madden game and when Madden was at its peak.

Finally someone else gets it! To me, this will always be the GOAT of Madden games. I still play this game every football season on my original Xbox. I use a component cable to givr the graphics a nice update and every season I update my rosters manually to current day players. Is it time consuming? Yes. Is the game old? Yes. But I don’t care, this game kicks ass and it’s unfortunate I would rather play a game from 2006 than 2021. Long live Madden 07!

Having grown up on Madden NFL 07 on the GameCube I couldn't agree more with this! Greatest Madden of all time! Easily beats the newer Maddens. EA just doesn't care anymore. Really sad.

While there, I asked Josh Looman and Phil Frazer to sign my Xbox and PS2 copies of Madden 07. They were the ones responsible for making the franchise mode in 05-08 we loved...and for Madden 12 and 25, and NFL Head Coach.
I played this a bunch on my PC. So fun. I liked resetting teams and drafting players from the whole NFL. The practice mini games to increase player stats was fun. And I sure did manipulate the hell out of trades by drafting as much rookies with with tags that increased their value, to later trade them for players I missed in the draft. Super fun. I learned a lot about the NFL and players just from playing this. And the soundtrack with NFL music was awesome. I can still remember some of them. Wasn’t Queens of the Stone Age on there? 6s and 7s I believe?

I was playing 07 last night on my ps2 slim. First time in 2 years. It's still funner than any next gen Madden.

I used to play nfl 2k2 religiously nonstop all day. I was so amazed at the smooth organic animations and the insanely realistic passing trajectories. Then the broadcast presentation was next to none. While playing season mode I threw a Lil bit too high lob pass to Tim brown while on the run even though he still caught it. Seconds later while showing a replay the commentary team was specifically talking about how my feet was not set while throwing and joked about Tim brown having jump boosters on while showing a vertical scale to show how high he jumped. That's the moment I started to realized how superior 2k was🔥
Madden nfl 07 on PS2 was my first madden game and what made me a lifetime football fan. It helped me understand what I was seeing on TV as a kid every Sunday watching football with my dad.
Another thing, in Superstar Mode you could import your NCAA 07 Campus legend and play out that career. The stories and lore man made investing worth it in a career mode!

Still play Madden 07 & NCAA 07 on my PS2. It's wild how good it is. Really looking forward to whatever 2k cooks up in the next few years when they get back in the space.

I loved making my own play book and took my high schools team playbook to madden and to learn the playbook, I would use the playbook as my teams playbook when I played with friends. Friends loved that the team playbook was there and I gave copies of that to them to play for themselves. I think it helped us know the playbook and how we won a state championship.

Even though I liked the Xbox 360 versions of the NCAA Football games, NCAA Football 07 for the PS2 is the best game in the series. It just had so many features, game mode depth, and player/team customization that the other games before it didn't have, and more than the NCAA Gamebreaker and NCAA College Football 2K games had.
04-07 Had so much creativity and innovation. The depth these games had was incredible and it improved year after year. Match that with the additions of the Hit Stick, Skill Stick, QB Cone (I know this mechanic is somewhat divisive but I actually enjoyed the challenge), Lead Blocker, and improved AI, these games were the complete package and made every August a time to look forward to. The immersion is all but gone with Madden. I no longer feel like I'm in the middle of a NFL season when I play. I feel like I'm playing a half-assed, predetermined, undercooked arcade football game that happens to have NFL licensing. The fun is gone. And there's no excuse other than EA's greed and laziness.

That is what it was for back then too. PS2 Madden had the worst blocking until recently.
Madden 10-14(25) saw massive improvement until more recent editions.
PS2 Madden had only two kinds of blocks: the guy in front of you or pull. Double teams almost don't exist. Lateral movement doesn't at all. No traps or anything of that nature.

If you could give someone madden 22 (series X/ps5) right after madden 07 came out back in 2006, I think there would be some complaints of lost depth and features but overall people would be incredibly Impressed with the graphics and the feel. It would be received incredibly well..
Now do the same think with NBA 2k7 and today’s nba 2K21. It would seem like the damn holy grail of video games. There would not be one negative thing said, the game would literally blow peoples mind.
A sports game 15 years in the future should have that reaction of 2k. There should be no comparison at all. It’s night and day. Madden however still would have it’s negatives and there’s aspect of madden 07 that still do things sooo much better than madden 22.

This was my most played Madden game. Creating an entire team with all original players (with a few free agents you had to sign to someone) took only about an hour. Plus the soundtrack; there is not one song on that game that doesn't bop or rock!

One of the most underrated features from this era is being able to have a franchise mode controlling all the teams and essentially running your own league.
I knew is wasn't tripping when I kept telling myself Madden 06 was one of the best football games
So, it took place little over a year ago (middle of the covid craze). My parents and sister were going to the campsite and it was an hour away from my audiology location and I was already there. I decided to try to wait 3 hours but however, starbucks closed down their dining which prevented me from gaming on my laptop that I brought with me. So, I was driving around town and saw the Game X Change sign and figured "why not". Got in and saw 3 or 4 ps2s and NFL 2k5. Fast forward a year, now I have over 40 ps2 games and 15 ps1 games. I am happy that I went retro and I watched your videos on what to get next to add to my collection. Thanks!

I remember playing Madden 07 on Wii, was flipping amazing, the throwing mechanic was awesome at that time, throwing bullet passes into tight Windows, or lobs on fade routes, using the wiimote was a game changer.

So many memories playing this game. Madden 07 helped me better understand the real game, which was great in a time where information was more difficult to come.
The franchise mode is simply amazing. The gameplay was great, you had amazing options to manage your franchise, hiring coordinators, scouting and drafting, building stadium, etc.
And the Superstar mode? Amazing. Now you they didn’t bother of building something like that.
I bought Madden 19 and I was shocked how bad it was compared to a game from PS2.

The Wii version of Madden 07 was actually pretty boss too. Not the motion control stuff, but it did have more features that even some of the others didn’t.
I love Madden NFL 07 I even have my original gamecube copy from 2006 and 15 years later it still works like it came from the game store itself. This game, its features, soundtrack, gameplay, etc makes this Madden one of the most beloved titles of all time.
For Madden games on PS1, my favorite would be Madden NFL 2000 since it features so many secret teams that only a handful returned for the PS2 era and by 2012, they were all gone. That game had all 31 NFL teams from 1999 season, pro bowl teams, nfl millennium, madden millennium, all madden team, ea sports, tiburon, decades teams from 60s to 90s, and even 11 fantasy teams like the clowns, comets, sugar buzz, mummies, marshalls, vipers, toymakers, industrials, monsters, praetorians, and junkyard dogs. That game in total had over 50 teams in over 50 stadiums to play with and it be interesting if SoftDrinkTV made a video on Madden NFL 2000 covering the game and all of its secret teams.
First one I had, played the crap out of it. The hall of fame cutscene for the career mode actually gave me chills when I hung up the boots

The fact that a game made like 15 years ago is literally better at almost everything other than graphics is insane to me. I'm a hard-core madden guy, play hundreds of games a year, have ranked inside the top 100 multiple times with good records (I was 45-3 this year before I stopped playing for now) and it's just sad. I vividly remember this being my favorite madden.
When the older maddens were coming out I was still very young like 7/8 so I never really played them, I always knew current madden was a bad game but I never realized how bad it actually was until your videos, thank you showing me that madden should be even better than it is!

I remember buying this from a Play n' Trade for like $2 for the PS2. I'm not really a big football fan (I love hockey and basketball), but this is a game that I would often come back to multiple times. So much so that I eventually bought NCAA 07 to make a player career and I really do love the decision. Also the soundtrack.... THE SOUNDTRACK. 💯
Just realized this was the only Madden game my dad had on PS2 and I have it sitting with a handful of NCAA games that he gave me, one of which being NCAA Football 14! Super glad to hear I have two of the best of both series.

Man when I tell u I stayed up allday and night on this game. The mini games were addictive and the Star running backs ran like how they did in real life. SuperStar mode felt more engaging as well. Haircuts,tats, messaging ur agents, actually showing u receive awards
I'll never stop being disappointed at how far Madden and football games have fallen in recent years. Current gen Madden is so ass, my friends and I stopped playing years ago, now we just have the memories.
I played the crap out of this game until 2020 on a franchise (I was probably on my 45th season). I had to buy a new Madden 07 CD around 2018 for $12 on ebay because the old CD got so scratched up with how much I played it. I noticed all the players around the league got better overall ratings (the lowest rating was around the mid 60s) making most of the games high score but really competitive in All-Madden difficulty (mostly because I played 15 minute quarters lol). The reason why I stopped playing was because I got so busy over the years but I am possibly going to make a comeback and pick off where I left off. I still have my PS2 with my memory card. I agree with Softdrink, this is by far the best Madden game and when Madden was at its peak.

Finally someone else gets it! To me, this will always be the GOAT of Madden games. I still play this game every football season on my original Xbox. I use a component cable to givr the graphics a nice update and every season I update my rosters manually to current day players. Is it time consuming? Yes. Is the game old? Yes. But I don’t care, this game kicks ass and it’s unfortunate I would rather play a game from 2006 than 2021. Long live Madden 07!

While there, I asked Josh Looman and Phil Frazer to sign my Xbox and PS2 copies of Madden 07. They were the ones responsible for making the franchise mode in 05-08 we loved...and for Madden 12 and 25, and NFL Head Coach.
I played this a bunch on my PC. So fun. I liked resetting teams and drafting players from the whole NFL. The practice mini games to increase player stats was fun. And I sure did manipulate the hell out of trades by drafting as much rookies with with tags that increased their value, to later trade them for players I missed in the draft. Super fun. I learned a lot about the NFL and players just from playing this. And the soundtrack with NFL music was awesome. I can still remember some of them. Wasn’t Queens of the Stone Age on there? 6s and 7s I believe?
