DaanRawks His combos were clearly not on point.. He couldn't even do the up-air strings into up-B correctly, which is what can kill really early in this matchup
Francis Beauchemin It was also the only thing he was going for. Only using one reliable kill setup can be punished easily. Mr. R was most likely choking. One of the only reasons people thought his play was amazing (Leo) Was because the up air string to up b was flashy and looked cool.
DaanRawks Uair to Up B is reliable as fuck get outta here. If you can't uair to up b nevermind uair combo to up b death then your MK ain't worth shit.
People are catching up to Zero, the matches are getting closer since Apex 2015
Edwin Vargas well, evo wasn't a good indicator of that at all, but smash con was. I just hope he doesn't lose until someone is actually at his level
pendalink Well Nairo was really close to winning two matches at EVO, but he missed his punishes, and since CEO he definitely has shown more stage control now. Mr. R couldn't handle Zero's Diddy once more since APEX, and Zero never brought out the Sheik. Though I don't think Zero would have picked sheik since he doesn't really go for the sheik dittos. ESAM got one game off Zero at CEO, and at SmashCon he almost took the game entirely. Ally completely choked at EVO against Zero, but at Low Tier City 3 he was close with both Mario and MK. The Japanese players like Abadango and Rain are still not able to hold much of a candle against Zero, though we have yet to see whether Ranai has any possibility of matching Zero with his Villager, I think he might show up at APEX 2016 though. Other than that, there were some people at Low Tier City 3 that were doing surprisingly well against Zero like the Mario and Rosalina, which shows that even players who are not always winning bigger tournaments are growing rapidly. Also, NAKAT did surprisingly well against Zero in Top 32 at SmashCon, almost winning both sets with Pikachu, which is a far cry against his performance in EVO where he lost to John Numbers, and later to a lucario, I believe, in pools. Can't think of anyone else who has shown improvement with Zero as the measuring stick lol
+Turnabout Gaming that's an overstatement to say they can't willfully take stocks from Zero. It is true that in most cases the first games tend to be the closest, but it's also true that ESAM proved otherwise at SmashCon. I believe that kind of result shows that the days of Zero not dropping games at tournaments is coming to a close, and eventually he will have to work much harder and need more luck to keep his position as champion. Props to Zero for keeping it up this long, but I believe people are really growing at a really fast pace.

pendalink I wouldn't say that he wasn't doing his best at smash con. All those times where he was VERY close to death from ESAM, those were moments where regular players would die. ZeRo though? He was able to get away by even the SLIGHTEST cm from ESAM's killing attacks. Just watch it again and you'll see. The video where he was about to lose of course.
Basically what I'm saying is, just because he's losing, doesn't mean he's not at his best.
He's just struggling with the unfamiliarity (like everyone else). And then when he finds the patterns and thinks of how to counter them (given that ESAM had to win loser's before coming back), he can play more comfortably against the opponent. Adjustments =/= You're playing better. You're just playing differently.

He hasn't had multiple wall jumps since pre-3.02, and in 3.02, he only had 2 wall jumps, and in 3.5, it became 1. And 3.5 is the match he is referring too.

I think its cool Zero is this Shonen manga level character that never ever loses. everyone loves watching Kirito fight cause he's badass. I get that vibe watching Zero fight, cept he's this real life character

It's official. Roy's my new favorite and #1 character in Smash.
it's nice to see ZeRo playing Roy even if it was for fun. Though he clearly isn't a roy main he has the basics down(kind of like Ally with Marth) he didn't use Dancing Blade, used Dair like crazy, tried to do the Sheik Fair combos XD, either way good play by both.

i didnt see the August tier list when i wrote the comment so last i remembered he was still kinda low
There isnt a widely agreed upon tier list in america especially with patches changing things, most people only have an idea of top tier with the rest heavily being debated and argued upon
with constant updates it's impossible to say who is where on the tier list
Cool to see someone giving Zero trouble. Maybe Meta Knight is a good counter for Shiek? I think if Zero went Diddy he would have had the advantage.

Why did I not see more fastfalled neutral airs from MK to gimp? I use them quite a bit against characters like sheik to just push them into a bad place or even knock them under the stage if you space it right.

And also, consider this:
1: Pichu is the 20th most wanted character in Japan, with it once being 5th most wanted.
2:Ryu was 23rd most wanted, but he made it just fine.
3:PICHU CONFIRMED. And everyone in top 19, except Roy, because for whatever reason he was on that list, even though nobody voted for him since may 8th(?). SSB4 is going to have 71 characters CONFIRMED.
But really, Pichu has a small chance. It could happen. My main could return. And I'm ranting about it on a grand finals comment section.

+Derek Lewis 1V1 me m80 I have the best Pichu skills out of everyone I know, which means nothing because I am the only Pichu player within around 100 miles of where I live because I'm in the middle of nowhere. To answer your question, I would call Pichu a semiclone, for one thing. Also, there is such a thing as a Pichu main. There's also the fact that the tier only effects who plays them online, and to a lesser extent at tournaments. I see way more Spamus/Nayru's spam/Palutena than I should. Melee tournaments had plenty of Pichu when someone thought they were good enough to use a bottom tier. Let's not forget that low tier characters make a better salt shaker. Everyone I have ever played against in Melee has quit after a few matches of losing to an inferior semiclone of an already mid tier at best character. There's also the fact that nobody will accuse you of being so bad that you have to use top tiers if you never use them.
All that is why I want Pichu back.
Semi clone vs clone. It's all the same. Pichus move set was inspired by Picachu. He was a pointless add and will not be seeing a return. I'd be highly dissapointed if they gave him a roster spot over someone who actually will bring something new to the game. Normal
Fun fact: we all are alive. We all have opinions. We all have characters we want back. I don't expect Pichu to return, but if he does it will be the best day of my life other than the day I unlocked Pichu in Melee.

As a ultimate/melee player ngl smash 4 is quite boring but still just insanely patient neutral. Definitely understand why smash 4 player have such good fundamentals now

It actually wasn't (that question was answered by JV earlier on during the stream) because 1.1.0 came out the Friday of LTC3, so it'd be unfair for the players to play on 1.9.0 for weeks in practice and then immediately adjust during the tournament, or for the traveling people like Ally, who probably hadn't been able to play Smash since they left for LTC, putting them on a complete disadvantage.

Stopped watching after Ally fucked up his lead in the first match. In fact that is my policy going forward when it comes to watching ZeRo. If ZeRo is about to lose then pulls a comeback in the first match I'm going to stop watching the rest of the set.
