This just saved me from replacing my power steering pump thank god I checked it I have a northern truck so the u joints were all rusted so I sprayed pb blaster on both joint ends and then used wd40 she’s steering perfectly fine now
I hope this fixes my issue the trucks at for over a year. I have 250 K miles on it and the steering is just real tight. I was afraid I needed a new rack and pinion but if this works, I will be happy
How about as I turn there are no clunks or noises but as I turn the steering is tight for a split second, normal for a split second, and so on? Bad pump?
I think any good lubricants would work but it will have to seep past the rubber seal to get into the needle bearings inside the u -joint. You will know when it seeps past the u-joint it will loosen up and rotate very easily. Great question and thanks for watching!!

Awesome. Has it still been good for the last year?
It sure has, no issues at all. I think it’s actually been two years since I did it.

That’s what mine was doing, take the shaft off and you can tell right away with the stiff u-joint.
@@jeepmanking3577 Thanks for the advice and quick response!
No problem and I hope it helps!!!!
If I don’t have used oil can I use fresh oil instead?
Yes anything that’s is a good lubricant will work, oil, ATF, let me know how it goes for you!!!
Would wD40 make it on place?

Can you just buy those U joints?
I don’t think you can, you have to buy the whole shaft…
