Lost my grandmother in October, 2016. I remember showing her Disturbed's performance of the Sound of Silence on Conan O'Brian one day. She had her own laptop and browsed Facebook a fair bit, even though she was in her late 70's. Later, I heard her watching it again and she said "Yeah, I watch it every time I see it pop up again, he's got a great voice". I remember in my head laughing my ass off, because here's this stuffy English woman watching Disturbed. I wasn't even that familiar with them, but I knew they were mostly heavy metal and the heaviest thing I've heard her play was the Beatles. I think she would've enjoyed this album, because there are quite a few acoustic ballads. Haters can say what they want about it being 'too soft', but I disagree. This is very sweet and refreshing.
I am not much of a metal fan… but I LOVE this… and their version of the sound of silence is my favorite song/performance of all time. I love his voice, I love his passion.

This song is amazing and unfiltered. I have been listening to it while riding my bike for many years. It reminds me of the freedom, peace, and gratefulness for the life that we have. Life is fleeting and temporary, so we should wake up and celebrate it every day. God bless everyone.

Been a Disturbed fan since day one and even before 9/11 i found that the lyrics in alot of their songs had something positive even though the songs may be forbodding or even intimadating. But yeah, even though i hate wine the anology is fitting. But you can get that from whiskey too🤣 David is a very compassionate and introspectfully astute lyricist. What i like most that in the early days on their tours, you knew very well that David could beat your ass with words or his fists. And now that they are older, mellower and very socially sensitive, and his kindness is often displayed at shows,...you kinda know this compassionate man can still bust you up if you're a dick at one of his shows🤣

I was focusing on David of course, but now I realize you're a tight unit. All of you guys have helped me more than I can say. Rock on! I am forever DISTURBED
Never heard of Disturbed until a few days ago when I heard Sound of Silence. I am a huge fan now. Going out to get some cd's. Would love for them to re-do some oldies on one album in ther own version......
Drenda Parfitt Hi Drenda. If not for my children (who are adults now) I would never have heard about Disturbed. All 3 of them have pretty much the same taste in music, but it was my youngest daughter who introduced me to so many awesome bands back when I was in my mid 40’s. I’m 63 now, and still love all of the music she had shown me. I was blown away by Sound of Silence, as it’s a real masterpiece from them. And a far cry from what they normally produce; same as this one above!! Just beautiful :)
I fell in love with this band when Sickness came out. Now 66 years old and with every album they give me a new reason to love them even more. Disturbed never disappoints.
He doesn’t do the uhh waaa ahhh ahh ahh ...shit, those were the times. Down with sickness , stupify , the game , voices , fear, god disturbed are so unique..i have to agree with you tho his voice aged perfectly welll
Every now and again there comes along a song that just seems to touch everyone and have a profound impact. From the gentle opening melodic sounds of the guitar to Davids powerful yet sensual vocals, there is something for everyone. One of the most powerful songs to date........
Listen, everyone The time will come when all of us say goodbye Feel that aching in your heart Leaving you broken inside But we're never really gone As long as there's a memory in you mind So now go do the best things in life Take a bite of this world while you can Make the most of the rest of your life Make a ride of this world while you can Take the ones you love And hold them close because there is little time And don't let it break your heart I know it feels hopeless sometimes But they're never really gone As long as there's a memory in you mind So now go do the best things in life Take a bite of this world while you can Make the most of the rest of your life Make a ride of this world while you can And hold on to memories Hold on to every moment To keep them alive The world's greatest tragedy Souls who are not remembered Cannot survive So now go do the best things in life Bring the fight to this world while you can Make the most of the rest of your life Shine your light on this world while you can And hold on to memories Hold on to every moment To keep them alive The world's greatest tragedy Souls who are not remembered Cannot survive And hold on to memories (Hold on) Hold on to every moment To keep them alive (Keep them alive) The world's greatest tragedy (Hold on) Souls who are not remembered Cannot survive
Man David has such a great way with words. I've always loved disturbed. I don't care if they write a whole album of ballads one day... I know it will be just as good as everything else they've given us over the years
This man just flattens me with his ballads. Goes to show excellent music crosses all lines. My 42 year old son exposed me to David's music and I am a 68 year old grandmother, retired nurse and a veteran. Keep on Disturbed!

OMG You can see the feeling and emotion of the lyrics in David’s voice and facial expressions! What a beautiful powerful version to an amazing song! Thank You
I can’t get this song out of my head. It’s so nice to hear a song about something that actually matters in life. Touched my soul to the core. That is why disturbed is my favorite band.
This song is not jujst emotionally touching, but his voice hits you hard in this. His voice makes this song what it is and you can tell how it hit him.
I loss my mother in April, following her passing, May I loss my dad. Sure miss them. ❤️ This video is a gentle reminder....their memories, their love remains forever. Thank you.
As long as bands like Disturbed, Alter Bridge (Tremonti and Myles Kennedy solos included), and Greta Van Fleet are around, I have faith that good music will endure.
A lot of the new age musicians and vocalist how to use autotune cuz they can actually sing that great that's why people like Chester Bennington who passed away David Draiman. Are the true vocalist of the last 20 years
Wow This song love it and David you sang it beautiful the words bring me to tears every time I listen to it 😢My brother is fighting for his life now he has a very nasty cancer, We are a family of 6 kids my 3 sisters have passed from cancer I am in remission now my youngest brother is fighting for his life ,my oldest brother is the only family member to not have this nasty 🤢 disease...Well done to you David and your awesome band Disturbed loved you guys for a long time ❤️ x
David voice is so amazing! When this song came out my boss at work just died suddenly. He was truly a great man. It was so heartbreaking. We had a gathering to remember him at the baseball field he would coach at. He use to play pro baseball back in the day and we felt holding that gathering there was fitting. I played this song in honor of him. Beautiful beautiful song
I dedicate this song to my mother who left this world two years ago.. Mom this song is for you, I know you are saying this to me.. I love You and I Miss You... Til we meet again :'( ..... Such a Beautiful song
I'm sorry Donna... I feel the same way about my mom. We WILL meet.. I only say that because she passed 3 days after I was born...so, never got to...but WE WILL BOTH be reunited with our mothers
My 22 year old Grandson Antonio passed away on July 4th. I will always love you and miss you until I meet you again. This is one of the best songs that is helping me out. Thank you Disturbed.
This amazing song called Hold on to Memories by Disturbed will now and forever be played on today, the anniversary of my brother’s passing and on December 2 for my dad (17 years gone). It is elegant, and uplifting and speaks to my heart. If you have ever lost a loved one, you should give it a listen. Love you and miss you terribly Steve. ❤️💔 And thank you to the band for such an amazing song to help us through the tough days.
I'd like to dedicate this song to my dad. Passed away in 1986 I was 2. Due to leukemia, his influences in rock n roll are the reason for my passion for music.
I turn 80 in May.. my son played Disturbed singing Sound of Silence and now this song Hold On To Memories.. I am hooked...David has a powerful voice...
Every year on December I remember loosing my bestie and 34 others from my company at Kim Son 12/17/66 it’s always been part of me as they were part of me. I keep them alive by living a good life they were cheated out of and I’ll never never forget them. This song has added new meaning to their loss. I make the most of the rest of my life.
Was so lucky so see Disturbed this past weekend at Alexandra Palace, London. Never have I felt emotions like I felt at this gig, David is the most sincere and thought provoked man I've ever seen! Don't even get me started on the voice!!!!! WOW
Having lost my grandfather three weeks ago, I played this song in his memory. This is just an absolutely powerful song. It reminds us all that life is too damn short. We never know when our end will come. So take time out of your day to spend with loved ones. Wether it be friends, family, your significant other, anyone who has made an impact on your life. Because it's those memories that last and make your life memorable
This song always makes me think of my Aunt Nancy who passed in 2020 from a stroke and I couldn't attend her memorial. She was up there in age but would have loved this song. And said "Words to take to heart"...
I lost my soldier boy, my soul mate of 49 years, 6 months, 3 days and 6 hours. My soul yearns for him and my heart breaks every day I continue to breathe. Memories are that I have left.
I lost the love of my wife in May of 2020. We'd been together on and off for 25 years, since I was 13 and she was 17. My heart feels heavy and my soul feels empty. I couldn't imagine what I'd feel like after 50 years and I hope for you all the best.
So I am a new friend to Disturbed, I thought David's performance of sound of silence was exceptional but the more I hear this band"s music the song remember the moments just brought me to tears what a voice David has, what a group may your memory always survive!

@@brunocandiadallanora9610 your words were beautiful! I find myself listening to “Disturbed” more and more lol! The whole album.. seems to make me feel better! Please stay safe!

Drága David én most olvadók el, ezt meg nem hallottam!
Fantasztikus Te és a Banda! Minden tiszteletem Irantatok! 😢❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I Love ❤❤
Beatiful, I Love I Love❤🎉❤és ❤🎉
His voice is amazing. I believe he can sing anything and make it amazing.
Dear DISTURBED. I've left some pretty frank comments in the past. Was down big time w the sickness. Have given most of it to you. Will work out the rest in therapy. Just wanted to say this. I was focusing on David of course, but now I realize you're a tight unit. All of you guys have helped me more than I can say. Rock on! I am forever DISTURBED
My son was a fan of Disturbed. This song hits home. I have found I love the words to many of Disturbed. Thank you for my memories of my son Disturbed!
Never heard of Disturbed until a few days ago when I heard Sound of Silence. I am a huge fan now. Going out to get some cd's. Would love for them to re-do some oldies on one album in ther own version......
I want to hear them do "Light My Fire" and "White Rabbit"!
Drenda Parfitt
Hi Drenda.
Disturbed did Songs Of Silence better than Simon and Garfunkel I hate to say that but it’s true imo. And the video is magnificent.
@@cyndyrob350
Mr Paul Simon agreed with you.
I dedicate to my girlfriend who passed away 2.5 years ago. Awesome performance.
I fell in love with this band when Sickness came out. Now 66 years old and with every album they give me a new reason to love them even more. Disturbed never disappoints.
Really happy to see he's been taking care of his voice with proper technique. He may even be at his best now.
You should check out the live concert video for "A Reason to Fight". Just as powerful as this one.
Give it up for the backing vocalist too! Great job! You two sound amazing together!
Thomas Christoffersen Definitely. He completes the song beautifully.
I was gonna say the same thing. Great backing vocals.
Beat me to that statement....wow!
Listen, everyone
The time will come when all of us say goodbye
Feel that aching in your heart
Leaving you broken inside
But we're never really gone
As long as there's a memory in you mind
So now go do the best things in life
Take a bite of this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Make a ride of this world while you can
Take the ones you love
And hold them close because there is little time
And don't let it break your heart
I know it feels hopeless sometimes
But they're never really gone
As long as there's a memory in you mind
So now go do the best things in life
Take a bite of this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Make a ride of this world while you can
And hold on to memories
Hold on to every moment
To keep them alive
The world's greatest tragedy
Souls who are not remembered
Cannot survive
So now go do the best things in life
Bring the fight to this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Shine your light on this world while you can
And hold on to memories
Hold on to every moment
To keep them alive
The world's greatest tragedy
Souls who are not remembered
Cannot survive
And hold on to memories (Hold on)
Hold on to every moment
To keep them alive (Keep them alive)
The world's greatest tragedy (Hold on)
Souls who are not remembered
Cannot survive
thank you for posting the lyrics- great song!!
Thank you !💖
Hold on to those you love
I dont get it..explain
Man David has such a great way with words. I've always loved disturbed. I don't care if they write a whole album of ballads one day... I know it will be just as good as everything else they've given us over the years
This man just flattens me with his ballads. Goes to show excellent music crosses all lines.
My 42 year old son exposed me to David's music and I am a 68 year old grandmother, retired nurse and a veteran. Keep on Disturbed!
Beautiful
Definitely! I love their heavy stuff. But dammit I love their ballads too!
I would pre pre order that album in a heartbeat 😍😍😍😍
A whole album of ballads? That would be beautiful!!!! 😍
This 63 year old not get enough of their music. Thanks to our 23 year old grandson who turned us on their music. Yep I am the COOL grammy. Can not get enough of their music. Went out and bought their Evolution Cd. We lost our precious Cocoa and this song has helped me though it
#63 here too
I love their music
OMG You can see the feeling and emotion of the lyrics in David’s voice and facial expressions! What a beautiful powerful version to an amazing song! Thank You
I wish they would do a whole album of this type of music, David Draiman's voice is so wonderful
The sorrow we feel when
we lose a loved one is the
price we pay to have had
them in our lives.
This song hits harder when live
It's always better live!
I feel like as Disturbed get older this is the direction they need to head.
I totallly agreee. They should continue producing songs
Their ballads are amazing. As they mature, their music does too.

This song makes me cry every freakn time.

I lost my little brother Aug 2018. This song means so much. Thank you ❤
Awh, so true and beautiful, I love you guys, TY and I am 66 yr old woman, you energize my soul!!
Have watched the reels of Disturbed on here, this is the first song I’ve heard I think I could become a Disturbed fan as from now❤ on
I play this tune every morning. Dance with my memories. Sets the day up.
This band is maturing nicely, like a fine wine.
I can’t get this song out of my head. It’s so nice to hear a song about something that actually matters in life. Touched my soul to the core. That is why disturbed is my favorite band.
😭 lost my big Maine Coon Odin SUDDENLY and am heartsick. Thank you for your beautiful timely performance! 💕💕💕💔💔💔💔💕💕💕💕
This song is not jujst emotionally touching, but his voice hits you hard in this. His voice makes this song what it is and you can tell how it hit him.
When someone you love becomes a memory, then that memory becomes your treasure…
Love love love David's voice!!! This band is amazing! Would be wonderful to sing with them!
I loss my mother in April, following her passing, May I loss my dad. Sure miss them. ❤️
This video is a gentle reminder....their memories, their love remains forever.
Thank you.
The last of the great voices! Last of the REAL voices. Music has changed dramatically for the worse. Thanks Dave for your talent.
As long as bands like Disturbed, Alter Bridge (Tremonti and Myles Kennedy solos included), and Greta Van Fleet are around, I have faith that good music will endure.
D.J. BEE He could sing anything! “Hey David, song Mary had a little lamb.” *absolutely crushes it* 🤘🏼
A lot of the new age musicians and vocalist how to use autotune cuz they can actually sing that great that's why people like Chester Bennington who passed away David Draiman. Are the true vocalist of the last 20 years
Supreme Performance!!! What an Extreme Privilege to hear!!!
That voice. One of the most powerful out there.
David is an incredible singer. He isn’t just a screamer.
I pray your brother is healing now and your family is not attacked with cancer again.
Amo a sua voz.....❤❤❤
David voice is so amazing! When this song came out my boss at work just died suddenly. He was truly a great man. It was so heartbreaking. We had a gathering to remember him at the baseball field he would coach at. He use to play pro baseball back in the day and we felt holding that gathering there was fitting. I played this song in honor of him. Beautiful beautiful song
YOU GIVE YOUR AUDIENCE THE PORTAL TO THEIR EMOTIONS. THANK YOU, NAMASTE. BRAVO AND BRAVI TO ALL FOR "SOUND OF SILENCE."
@@marlenedorough454 Thank You
Donna thanks for your post its beautiful! Im 60 lost my mom many years ago, her soul survives within me thanks again!
Love it! Love Disturbed!
One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. ❤
The guy on the guitar with backing vocal is beautiful❤
I'd like to dedicate this song to my dad. Passed away in 1986 I was 2. Due to leukemia, his influences in rock n roll are the reason for my passion for music.
I turn 80 in May.. my son played Disturbed singing Sound of Silence and now this song Hold On To Memories.. I am hooked...David has a powerful voice...
Happy early birthday, Sharon!
Stay strong! This comment made me cry like a baby ❤️
Don’t cry for what could have been, smile and rejoice for what was ! :-D
I lost the love of my wife in May of 2020. We'd been together on and off for 25 years, since I was 13 and she was 17. My heart feels heavy and my soul feels empty. I couldn't imagine what I'd feel like after 50 years and I hope for you all the best.
He holds his hands out in faith receiving the spirit....how powerful God is! David knows it!!!
So I am a new friend to Disturbed, I thought David's performance of sound of silence was exceptional
but the more I hear this band"s music the song remember the moments just brought me to tears what a voice David has, what a group
may your memory always survive!
Teresa Moyer Maybe stay away from their music from 10 years ago then...... not everyone’s cup of tea but I love it all.

It took me a while to get to appreciate there music, but I a hard fan now, always will be.
I’ve loved them since the beginning. Such unique music. Not afraid to be different.
My husband passed over 20 years ago. I think of him every day. He will be forever in memory. This song captures that feeling.😢
I lost my lil brother 8 years ago and my older sister 2 years ago. Their memories are locked deep in my heart. Every time I need the strength to go on I listen to this song now and remember them and thank them for inspiring me to get into art.
I am so disabled. I want an end to the pain. I listen to daily. Love you guys! Thank you.

I lost my dad ten years ago and my mom nearly two years ago now I'm so glad to have the memories of them I do. They honestly loved one another and I know they are together again. As my dad said life is short you can't let it slip by cherish each day each moment
