I have a 540 and was able to really notice the difference. No hesitation from stop and go

Sorry to say, but this video was a complete disappointment. You didn’t even show the feature in action!? I also think you have completely misunderstood the feature as such (or I have!)? I assume you know what “standstill” means….? This is basically when you stand still - the one thing you did not do in your video 😂 Please read xHP’s description of the feature you present in the video once again. Especially the second and third paragraph.
And no - it by definition should not have any effect on the gearbox performance when driving.
The other thing that left me speechless was your comment “…you coast a little longer than you would because the transmission seems like it is staying engaged as opposed to disengaging you don’t slow down as quickly” …..
    😮😮😮
I highly recommend learning what coasting is…. Which will also explain why actually if the transmission is engaged you do not coast and will slow down quicker 😅
Please consider the above a constructive criticism. This video is unfortunately very far from its title. Just my 2 cents.

There’s no way for me to have physically shown anything in the video. This sort of transmission behavior does not come through on video whatsoever. Hence why I didn’t physically show anything. I also did note multiple times that many of my observations in the video may have been just in my head (hence the “maybe I’m crazy”) which is more likely than not. Because as you said, that shouldn’t be the case just based on what XHP claims this does. To go along with the “coasting”, this is all just off the cuff, I have no script. So maybe I could’ve used more accurate terminology. I drive and I speak, and sometimes that means I don’t use the best wording to get my point across. I think ultimately the video was able to show that this feature doesn’t do much which is why it wasn’t even a 5 minute video. Your points are all valid, I do agree it’s not a very compelling video to watch but at the very least it’s clear it’s not a very compelling feature to begin with 🤷‍♂️

But again the video not only does not endeavour to show what the feature is all about (even if there isn’t much to see), but also shows you have not understood its purpose, based on your comments…
I for one expected to see a few drive offs from stand still, try to see how responsive the car is, how the rpms behave, etc. Ideally pre- and post- mod. That is what the video should have been about! Even if there isn’t that much to see, as you say.
Driving and accelerating around whilst talking (inaccurately) about a “standstill” decoupling and on top saying the car coasts longer with the gearbox engaged is just 🤯
      Anyway… thanks for trying 😆

@@mevans8646you can use an obd scanner tool to show that fuel used when stopped in D is less than if you had it in m mode 2nd gear because it only applies to stopped in 1st. Example, 1.5 l/hr when stopped in D, 2l/hr when stopped in 2nd. And I wonder how much in N would be .. maybe a bit less than in D?

Can this add extra wear to the torque converter? Especially in traffic..where it’s supposed to be better.

That's strange it seems to make a difference when driving. It's supposed to decouple at 'standstill' - not when driving, or not when at idle.

Yes that’s why I lead that statement with “maybe I’m crazy” lol

I have this feature enabled on my G42 chassis m240, and I haven't really been able to notice a difference in driving though I use Auto-hold and drive exclusively in the manual mode. Actually I've never driven in the fully automatic mode. I have no idea whether or not these features interact with the standstill decoupling. The coasting however, seems like a placebo thing, b/c I did not notice any such thing.
Something I'd wonder is if the standstill decoupling is active, and then you start building boost with brake and throttle engaged (but not triggering launch control) does it turn off when you use the throttle or after you release the brake? I'd imagine that it would not be good for the transmission to neutral drop in this scenario.

Yeah I also suspect most of the differences I was feeling were placebos, hence the “maybe im crazy”. Definitely not a super useful feature

I have a G42 as well. Overall would you recommend xHP? Considering getting either stage 2 or 3. I’m assuming this should also work with JB4?

    • @BennettRedacted
      @BennettRedacted 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@TJZTechShow Yes. xHP has a very rich feature set and is more than just a shift speed and shift point editor. Probably one of the most exciting things about xHP is ignition cut which allows you to bring back upshift brap sounds when torque reduction is configured correctly. I run a customized Stage 3 tune and it makes for very spirted driving. Even if your preference is comfort xHP is able to increase the performance of your shifts without sacrificing comfort.
Two things to keep in mind. 1. your first time flash will take a while, consider plugging in as it will take 5-10 minutes even with a top of the line MHD Universal Red Flasher. 2. Disable your iDrive BMW WiFi as the MyBMW likes to agressively switch 3. Make sure you don't open your door while flashing.
I have a detailed write up on the 'ole bimmer post forum too if you're interested: g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2039364
