Hi Cynthia. The dress is stunning. The fabric looks perfect too. I am looking forward to your review. We did have a great visit. I loved seeing you all. The sewing community is awesome. It’s so great seeing the beautiful pictures from your hike with your parents. I hope you have a great weekend. Thanks again for the visit…❤ Diann
Thank you, Diann. All of you are so nice and I’m glad we had more time to visit. We definitely need to continue our get togethers. Have a wonderful weekend. 😊
I'm glad you made the Atelier Jupe dress first. That pattern brand always seems like such a good match for you so it was almost a guaranteed win. I can't wait to see you wearing it! I always love hearing about your hikes with your parents; I think that is just such a nice way to spend time together. Everything in my sewing room lately seems like it's filled with drama. My plaid seersucker dress isn't that flattering. My Burda slip (7627) will be okay for a nightgown, but I'm finding that I don't like back gathers on a slip. I spend so much time using the embroidery stitches on my machine to embellish it, at least as a night gown they won't go completely to waste. I'll have to drag out my old Simplicity pattern (8480) and make another bias cut slip now. I should have just used it to begin with. Maybe I should make me another Rhapsody blouse before that because they are always an easy win for me. I hope your Gigi dress doesn't require too much fitting and works out well for you. I think it will also be a gorgeous dress.
Thanks Nadine. Yes, sometimes it is nice to make a win. The Rhapsody blouse sounds like a good pick me up. Hopefully, I will start the Gigi dress cut out this week. I also have a FPC Donny on my sewing table. The weather here has been perfect these last few days. It makes me wish I didn’t have to work and that I could be on the hiking trail more often. Have a wonderful week. 😊👋
That dress is just beautiful Cynthia and can't wait to see what you decide ❤ It was just wonderful to meet you in person and you are right, there is no better community than the Sewing one we have. Thanks for sharing your hike photos, I do love your mountains so much and will miss them! I don't often do challenges as I get too stressed being committed to doing something 😂. Have a wonderful weekend and week ahead and thanks again for travelling all that way to meet us and for my gifts ❤x
Thank you, Carole. You and your husband are so sweet. It was lovely to meet you both. I agree I am fortunate to live where I live. The mountains get in your soul. That’s my happy place. My sewing space is my second happy place. Have a wonderful weekend and safe travels. 😊❤️
You always select such beautiful fabrics for your projects. I absolutely love your new dress and can't wait to see photos of you wearing it, along with your pattern review. What is the name of your hiking trail? What a gorgeous setting. Take care.
I know you are somewhere in the mountains of NC or TN and wanted you to know I am praying for all those in the path of the storm. I am in Wilkes County NC and we have had a lot of flooding and still have many without power but other counties around us have it much worse. God bless you and keep you safe.
Thank you for your prayers. I’m okay but we have no power or Internet. I just now received limited cell service and this may send with my hotspot. Things are bad here in North Carolina in my county but some of my neighboring counties have it much worse. Again, thank you for your prayers. We need them.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you choose for your precious fabric 😊 Good luck with your willpower, but finding something new and pretty at a savings is a win as well. No new fabric here recently, My stash is manageable, but I'm still working on fabric from 2020 and earlier hahaha. That's when I realized that the project I'm currently working on must be a precious fabric, as I've had it out a few times, and could never settle on one of the several coat patterns I want to make. The lining is from about 2017 and one of my first online fabric purchases. Also couldn't decide on juuuust the right pattern. So I am working on the #preciousfabrics x 2.
Yes, that would definitely count as a precious fabric. I am not brave enough to try making a coat yet. Maybe one day. It sounds like a great project. 😊
You dress is beautiful, Cynthia. I look forward to your review of the pattern. I’m on a self imposed fabric buying ban while I get through some of the fabric I already have, including some which I’ve been too scared to cut into! I heard you are the same 😄. Consequently I’ll be taking part in the Precious Fabric challenge 😂. Last year was the first I made some dresses for Project Dress a Girl so I’m doing that again this year too. The area where you live looks stunning so thanks for including some views. ❤
Oh, that’s great that you are participating in the Precious Fabric challenge. Last year was my first time sewing for Project Dress a Girl too. Have fun sewing.
Wow Cynthia, the dress is just beautiful 🤩. I might get this pattern to make my Christmas Office Dinner Party dress👏, but I will wait for your pattern review😉. So far, I am only participating in Project Dress A Girl 2024. I don’t want to over commit and then get stressed about it 🤣🤣. Happy sewing 🧵 🪡🧵🪡💖💖, Karen.
I completely understand about over committing. I always want to do more than I can accomplish. Have a great weekend, and I hope you have lots of time to sew. 😊
😂 I’m a bit jelly that you got to gather with Andra, Carole, and Diane. They’re fabulous people whom I hope to meet one day! I am planning to participate in the same challenges you are. I’ve already toiled the one with Whitney. 😘
How kind you are. Carole, Cynthia and Andra are such wonderful ladies. Their talent is only surpassed by their kindness. I hope to meet you one day as well. ❤ Diann
Your dress is beautiful. I am tempted to purchase that pattern. I wear long dresses all summer to hide my legs but can wear shorter ones in winter with tights. I am currently working on the comillas dress by Itch to Stitch. I have been looking for a tiered style that I like and that one hit the mark.
The dress is beautiful. Do you mind if I ask is this view in Tennessee? How much fun it would be to meet other You Tube Sewers. So Carole is so sweet. I'm going to look up Diane. Thank you for a great video.
The dress looks beautiful, but so, too, do those mountain views! Thanks for including the hiking footage!
I’m glad you enjoy the hiking photos too. I’m enjoying these sewing projects too. I can’t wait to wear this dress. 😊

Beautiful dress, Cynthia! Looking forward to the review! So thankful we three were able to get together again, and that Carole was able to join us! 💗
Me too. It was fun. Thank you for inviting me. 😊

The trail is the Art Loeb Trail. The section we hiked climbs Tennett Mountain in Western North Carolina.

Beautiful dress Cynthia ❤ I am so glad you enjoyed meeting sewing friends.
Views from hike with your parents are fantastic ❤
Enjoy your weekend
Thank you, Agata. I look forward to wearing this dress this autumn. 😊

@@Silver_Threads_Sewing Sorry I misspelled your name, Diann!

That sounds lovely. The dress I made is midi-length. I believe it will look good with sandals or boots.

I’m glad you enjoyed it. These views are in North Carolina; however, Tennessee has some beautiful views and countryside too. 😊
