Years ago I worked in a number of quarries, and in those days all of that stuff was built and maintained with nothing more than a cutting torch, grinder and stick welder. It's really cool seeing it being done with "fancier" tools. Appreciate the hard work...and the videos.
Id like to see a video of this guy's story. He mentioned he started out with a pickup and an engine driven welder and progressed to where he is now. Gotta be a cool story there. It's inspirational as i only dabble in welding projects on the side and would like to progress to where he got.
You are a master. Before I became a pipeline welder when I was younger. I helped to build a crusher plant. We put up the hoppers, belts, shaker decks. It had four crushers, roller, hammer, conesnf whatever the other one was. Had fun when I was younger.
i follow 2 welding channels, this and I C Weld. amazing work from both of you. i'm kind of a hobby fabricator making buckets and attachments for skidsteers and small excavators. i have learned a lot from watching you guys work. thank you very much for all of your content
Another interesting video young man. Quarry work, dust bowls in summer and sludge/slurry holes in wet weather. I have recently picked up some work in a sandstone quarry. Repaired one end of the rotted weighbridge, got an outrigger built in the shop ready for fitting on Tuesday. Then some hard facing and plating of a chute to do.
I’m surprised you were able to use gas in that wind…you could hear it blowing in the microphone. The welds looked good, nicely wet in. I hope to be able to do a side hustle when I retire doing repairs/light fabrication. Keep the videos coming…yours are some of the best on youtube!
Great job, keep up the amazing work and the videos coming On a side note, when those metal blades seem dull, give the rakers a couple swipes with a file (about a dime thickness between the raker and teeth) , those blades should cut almost like new
I currently work in the mining industry as a welder/repair guy. I have built a pile of truss conveyors. Looking into starting my own company on the side- I think that's the way to go
Apple Valley? YIKES! Out there u need to drive ur rig inside the hotel room to keep it safe. Tweekers will scrap everything u own for pennies. I lost a set of leads in no time by the 15.
It's like Winchester mystery house of conveyor belts out there. A little bizarre. Curious what the need is. Like like they can keep you busy with plenty of work out there.
That's the kinda shit I put up with at my job!! The boss always comes up with some shit that just might work to help keep the stupid rocks in spec. Darn good job I'd say
so I see from your display are both of those trucks yours Ana you have a guy that runs the ram for you ? I've always wanted one I have just a dodge 3500 gasser now eventually I'll upgrade
I love that you just automatically say.. yeah it’s windy, yeah I’m using a MIG ..because you know somebody is gonna be Mr Obvious.. lol. crank up the gas and let her eat.
I noticed you use gas powered welders. Curious, why that vs a welder on a generator? Is a welder also usable as a standalone generator? Do your trucks have a PTO genset? Might be more than one answer here and that's ok I was thinking about your chan today while figuring out how I'm gonna weld a kids playground thing (idiot home gamer here not pro)
Most of my equipment is diesel. Almost all engine driven welders have some type of AC generator. I chose ones that have high generator output so I can run other equipment off of it such as plasma cutters and your standard “mig” welder.
Back at the beginning of the last century they actually grew a lot of fruit in this area. Apparently it was much colder back then which allowed apples to fruit. Now the orchards are gone. My property looks like native creosote scrub but was actually an orchard about seventy years ago. I find an occasional fruit tree stump from time to time. For the most part it all looks like a native desert these days. Those cement plants are the biggest business around here since they shut down all the pot farms.
@@jamespayne8781 that's really interesting. I drive a tractor trailer and often wonder how people existed in some of the desert areas I drive, or have driven through
@@Dudemieser for the most part people didn’t live in these areas until electricity became available. With electricity they could pump water from wells. Even today electricity is key to living in the hot arid places. There were of course scattered groups, some big ranches, some nominally successful mines. There’s an old mine further out in the desert from where that video was shot. Most people live close to one of the major road ways. If you look at satellite images you can see a whole lot of the western US is brown. There’s more un development land than developed.
Mr. Jones. How much you pay for then new guy . $10.00 No No too much. Operator my ASS.. Hard to fly with the eagles when your swimming with the turtles.🍻
Thanks for the video, Greg. Happy Father's Day!
Thank you!
Oh that saw!!!! Amazing tool. Great video, again👍
Great. Thanks for the post.

I have been thinking about making a video about that.
@@OFW do it man
Do it! We need to see some pics of the og welding rig and compare to the new rigs.
Definitely also throw in some old pictures of your old setup any pictures would be great.
Yes, that discussion would be well received and greatly appreciated Greg !
Thanks for taking us along on other great job. Great camera shots and angles. 👌👍

Two others that I follow are Cutting Edge Engineering (Australia) and Snowball Engineering (England). Both very good.
@@jackkeys1621 Also Welderfabber in England and NBSWelding in the USA.
Thanks for the welcome back I bet it gets pretty hot out there in the middle of no where , vibrating rock crusher
Morning coffees on!! Well done!!Cheers!;-)!
I really enjoy the different variety of equipment, challenges, and techniques on this channel. "life is like a box of chocolates".
always fantastic Greg.....cheers from Florida, Paul

Another job well done
That is a crazy setup. Who the mastermind that set that up.
Awesome job!

Hello , I could here some wind over the microphone . How was the MIG weldung in a windy inviroment ?
Like your Videos and your explanations !!
Just turn the gas up
Hell of a find in their scrap pile for that pivot point!
Heck ya that is i agree👍
That was brilliant! 👍🤓
great content
Nice work man👍👍
Both, on getting the job completed and taking the time to make the video.
Definetly a big yet strange project. I forsee later on that they will need a shroud on the other side of the hopper.
Good job none the less. 👍
I am curious as to why you would choose to use your small Mig machines rather than your VS suitcase with dual shield wire.
It just depends on the situation. That’s the problem with having a bunch of equipment, there are many options.
"He likes to do things the difficult way" hahahahaha
Ok who let that guy drive the telehandler haha
I thought it was a costly accident just waiting to happen.
Apple Valley? YIKES! Out there u need to drive ur rig inside the hotel room to keep it safe. Tweekers will scrap everything u own for pennies. I lost a set of leads in no time by the 15.
@14:30 minutes Did you guys think about just clamping it to the forks instead of rigging it up? That tele handler would've worked mint for that I bet

33👍's up on fire welding thank you for sharing
You have very demanding workload
Should have brought a fixture table in the Jeep since you went through all the trouble to drive it out there.
I didnt, can tell us about the saw blades those went right through that bar. Nice video.
They are 14” and carbide tipped. The saw spins slower than your traditional cut off saw.

I’m not sure.

When the gentleman was welding the square tube was he going back and forth while welding or just a straight shot across?
Back and forth
