Wow, that was a hard days work out in the scorching desert. Very well done, I bet you guys were ready for some food and cold beers after that job. 🍻👍😀🇦🇺
Brings back memories - we had a busted arse trommel we used to screen gravel back in the 80's to make concrete aggregate. I was forever welding bits back on to it.
Man y'all worked through the evening and night once again, always slamming jobs out. That's how we do it to. I've never got to work on a trommel though ! Nice
Nice job. My only concern this time it's you with that grinder, without the guard and a handle... you already had some accidents and wounds in your hand, so seeing you doing the same again, scares me even more! 😨 Take care with that grinder. 😓 Cheers from Spain.
First thing I do when I get a new grinder is take off the guard and handle, no self respecting professional has the guard on their hand grinder, it severely limits its use

@@OFW what cfh are you having to run to get good coverage to avoid porosity out in the field like that? I've never had good luck with a dual shield wire in the field running 35-45cfh. Good gust of wind will just mess everything up seems like

crankshaft? Wonder if in future the trammel could be designed with two wear sections so either the trammel could be moved to the new wear section or the second set of drive chain and rollers could just be installed or the first set moved to double its lifespan.
Im not much of a welder but if i may suggest....in future when you get jobs like that you could always weld criss cross beams in place to keep the remaining structure true to its original position...almost like a jig if you can call it that. But yes as you said in the intro of the video...you took a lot of miscellaneous material with because you never know what to expect. Glad that you could pull the job off in one day. Well done👍
While a lot of praise is given to the Lincoln SA200, it will weld great. But you can not run a grinder at the same time as welding, then it is DC only and can not run any other equipment. Now this Miller 600 amp machine you can weld and grind at the same time. Also run a plasma cutter and a XMT 350 at the same time. Also run air tools at the same time.
@@nitrouscatfish5827 it’s not the amps it’s what the machine can do as a whole. For example I can have one guy plasma cutting one guy running a welder off of the stick leads one guy welding with the 50A 220 plug. And one or two guys grinding. Not to mention I have enough air to run several air tools during all this.
@@OFW Ohhh ok I gotcha. I guess I was looking at it from the POV of a one man operation. I just bought a little klutch engine drive and it supposedly can't run any auxillary power while welding so I see how convenient that would be.
My keen ear of experience caught a little heat drunk slur there. Needs must and all that, but when you start to sound like you just pounded 3 shots, time to sit in the shade and knock back some water for 30. Heat exhaustion can screw you up for a long time and seems like each time you wimp out a little faster. You probably know that, and will ignore it. I know it and still push through too often.
Kinda seems like that was a bad design from the start. Like maybe that internal square tubing should have gone out farther to the edge. All the damage looks to be flex from the rollers
Why not use a welding helmet with a fresh air system, such as from 3M. You have no idea what kind of junk you can't get into your lungs! As a maintenance technician, I am not allowed to work without it.
and here I thought only Rommel was in the Desert.....best wishes from Florida, Paul

I may have missed it but what was wrong with the old drum.? Wearing thin?
I did forget to mention why. It was full of cracks and it was beyond repair.

Hi. I like your channel. I did much of the same here in Norway. You are good🎉
It sure would have been nice to see the struggle of y’all putting the new ring onto the end of the trammel. Would have been some interesting content.
Ya I know, my stupid phone kept overheating so I couldn’t.
What wire you use for this job? I'm on the hunt for another wire as Hobart discontinued 21b in the larger sizes 🤦
Lincoln 71a75

Absolutely Fabulous ❤️🏴☠️🎥💯%👍🏻👌🧨
Nice job great video
I was really enjoying the content here, hoping it will resume some day.
Is work work bid? T&M?
I quoted this job. So a flat rate.
What Miller machine did you have strung out half way through ??
Miller 220 AC/DC

Were you just using it for MIG ??
Yes.
thats a beast of a job
Another start and ya done when off-site fix is done. Give customer back his machinery!!!!! Good job
Where about are you located? That’s hot, and sucks to be bundled up like you have too!
Just outside of Barstow California.
@@OFW beautiful country 😅
Great job!!!
6:45 AM ring ring. About that trommel ring you put on, ... it was supposed to go on the other end.
Curious why you decided on a 600amp welder? Looked at cost and like to had a heart attack!!!
At the time I wanted the smallest diesel air pak welder, and that was the 600. I regret not getting the 800.

I sure hope you are well and good miss your videos. Can’t wait for a new one
Great thumbnail image.
Wow, what a job that was
Long day. Nice job.
Be nice to get a trailblazer mounted on the truck so the apprentice can also run a suitcase.
That 600 amp machine could run a XMT 350.
Technically I can run 2.
What’s happened to the videos man ? Really enjoy your channel
Had to take a break. But I’m back.
I worked on one that colored mulch. Kent.

You are 100% correct.
Is there anything you can’t fix?
If there was it would probably be something electrical.
Nice
And only a four hour drive home!
You forgot to mention why it was replaced
Ya I forgot. The old one was full of cracks and beyond repair.
IC Weld did a rig rundown recently and I noticed a lack of fishing equipment. Care to comment?
One must always be ready for what the day throws at you. I never know where I will end up.
You forgot the bolts haha jk
