Well thought out and packed with features, so I hope this can be a good starting point. However I didn’t like the high contrast of especially colours, and of course the built in microphone. It reminds me of the microphone on my older Sony camera with its waterproof case on, so I guess waterproof microphones aren’t the easiest thing to work with.
So while there’s a lot of good work done here, there’s probably some really expensive engineering that’s not yet in place, so they market it as value for money.
If I was looking for my first action camera, I would have had a serious look at it.
Hi - just watched your videos on the XTU S3 and X1 and really enjoyed your content. Very helpful so thanks for that! I've subscribed your channel so I definitely plan to check out some of your other videos! Obviously, there is a good deal of difference between the S3 and X1 (which I wish I could pick up right now) but I was just wondering whether you had any thoughts on either the XTU S3 pro or XTU Max Pro (again another camera I'm having difficulty finding)? I guess if the S3 Pro is a real improvement on the S3 I would definitely consider picking it up for B roll footage purposes. If you have any thoughts that you can share with me on this I'd be very grateful. Again thanks for putting out such great content - you're a real pleasure to watch!

Thanks for the review. I am curious when you tested the internal mic, did you have the volume as high as it would go? I saw another review where the internal mic had good sound, at the volume set at high. I also noted in a previous comment, you stated you may have had a defective camera regardin the internal mic. Can you confirm if XTU acknowledged your camera was or may have been defective? TIA.
Yes, I tested the internal mic on both the ‘default’ and the ‘high’ setting, but both resulted in a low level recording. I noticed other reviewers had better audio levels so I just assumed my camera was faulty.
i had one XtU S3 and my audio is pretty good without External Audio

What's the voice commands
Here is a list of the voice commands: Record Video, Close recorder, Screen On, Screen Off, Open WiFi, Close WiFi, Take Photo.
I was wondering why I recorded for about 50 minutes and I went to review it it was short clips
When doing a continuous record, a lot of these action cameras break the larger video into smaller segments. I believe with this camera it records segments that are 25 minutes long, but they should all be able to be edited together in one long seamless clip if need be.

I've reviewed them both, and in my opinion the XTU X1 is a far superior camera. It has higher frame rates (4K-60, 1080-120, 720-240), two levels of EIS, better slow-motion, higher ISO settings, better zoom image, and much sharper looking video. @@lisadiaz9229 click the small gear icon on the bottom right hand side of the touch screen. Then scroll down the list. It's called 'Inversion Mode'. It's right below the LEDs setting and just above the Date Stamp setting. To turn it on slide the little toggle switch so that it is yellow, and it should flip right away.

You can't beat the price of this camera on Amazon at the time of this comment but the Akaso Brave 8 has much much better audio.
