Gamsod has great sky blue. Not blown out. Nice camera for the money. I purchased this camera after watching reviews, especially yours. I like 1080 because files are smaller easier to upload. There are so many features on these cameras but i really need 2 things clarity and eis. I ride motorcycles and had a gopro 8 died on me after 10 months. I will never go back to gopro. this video helps me out on a budget friendly cam and you did it perfectly, Thank you.
So sad the sound quality is not good, but it is the best image quality i ever have seen of all the action cameras! It's even better than a latest new go pro or a dji. Hopefully they will do a sound update in the next model and keep this brilliant image quality

This was a long video with over 80 GB of footage to go through and wanted to be thorough. Yeah the pool needed a new liner and the wife wanted the spa completely redone into a tanning ledge, so the Spa cost as much as the liner and installation but gotta keep her happy :). We are all doing great, thanks for asking and watching
Thanks. Never would have found this camera in my research. It actually checks all of my boxes. USB-C, can charge while recording, remote control, and decent video quality. I'm mostly just looking for an action cam to attach to my disc golf cart for form checking and filming my rounds. I should get some use out of the 720p240/1080p120 resolutions. True4k60 is a nice bonus. Not needing great sound quality. I use a scorecard app on my phone, so using my phone for taking video's hasn't been ideal. Video always stops recording when I switch to my scorecard app. Having a second cam would make things much easier. Very few action cams in this price range have usb-c. I'm also considering getting a $8 micro USB to USB-C adapter, and a cheaper action cam. This cam is at the top of my list right now. Thanks again.

The muffled mic and hot mic external was a dissapointment. Video quality was pretty good...also with the Brave 8. To take advantage of the good video without the EIS, the tripod screw-in would add significant value (Can't think of the name of the screw-in). On another subject... I've been coveting the new Trisio Lite 2. I hope you can get a sample to do a review. I haven't seen any negatives yet in the TH-cam videos. Thanks again for an excellent revew! Stay cool!!!

Some the PCP airgunners like to use budget action cams that will do 240FPS in 720 or 1080. That way they can catch the pellet in flight and see what is affecting accuracy, or if the pellet is spiraling. Thanks for the review. I am presently building a scope cam adapter for a camera I bought a few months ago that is supposed to do 240FPS at 720 and 120FPS at 1080.
Excellent point, I can see using 120 fps at 1080 (just because of better resolution) to help seeing the projectile but 240 is even better for that scenario. Thanks for watching !

I'm wondering if the lapel mic was too close to your mouth. Have you tried moving it farther down on your shirt to see if it works better? Did gamsod comment on a possible firmware update?

Thanks for the review, I was stuggling between the onreal native 4k, Akaso brave 7le and V50 pro and bought this on as I wanted 4k60fps and seemed to be a good fit for me. I just have one question, on your camera did the buttons feel very stiff and hard to press? I'm wondering if this is natural due to it being waterproof.
Because it is waterproof, the buttons will be a bit stiffer

Yes on a 4K monitor or TV it will really show the compression artifacts and TH-cam's compression doesn't help either. Thanks for watching !
Nice looking camera for sure. Audio not the best however, but all in all not a bad action camera. Did not for a moment think it was 6K. I checked the link and does not show camera or pricing, maybe because i shop from Amazon UK. However nice video, Andre. 👍

Hello from another microwave oven, Las Vegas, where yesterday it was 116 on my patio, aint it great. Overall, our side by side just reinforce my belief that the SJ cam was a better choice. Eek, 116*? hopefully that's a dry heat :) The SJCAM cameras have been solid performers in the past, just wish SJCAM didn't give up on their usual firmware updates like they used to constantly put out. I am a kayaker, and I do alot of videos for local kayak groups, usually a action camera last about 2 yrs for me, the outer lense being removable is interesting, since I could use colored lens to help reduce flare. I notice that voice activation is not listed, can you voice activate it? Most of my video is 1080@ 60fps, upload to FaceBook and TH-cam. Voice is never an issue, since I add audio tracks. I just wore out my Brave 6

Haha, Yes the Fig tree is alive and kicking and about to bear some figs by the end of this month ! We couldn't find chlorine for the longest time and had to always just use the small shock packets. Finally found a 50 lb bucket for $250 CRAZY, but the new pool is almost done :)
The video is great, just missing the video quality test when using the camera as a 4K web camera... some work great, others not so much.
I don’t mind spending money on a camera that offers great video, audio and stabilization. What’s your thoughts on the Insta RS? I’m on the fence either the RS or GoPro 10. Thx
I don’t have the RS so I can’t comment on it but from everything I’ve seen it’s great.
The video looks nice and they could have gotten away with saying it’s 5K but they had to know reviewers like you would discover the truth which questions the credibility of that company. Great detailed review

Overall the colors and detail were pretty nice on this camera! If it had a tripod mount I could use it for b-roll shooting. Gotta say, the Akaso Brave 8 had good image AND good sound. Does that ohe shoot at 4k/60? Ever since I saw your 4k/60 video after we flew together, I've become addicted to those settings LOL.
Hey there Jeff ! Yeah I've gotten used to 1/4-20 mounts on these action cameras too. Yes the Akaso Brave 8 does shoot 4K@60 fps which is nice when slowed down to 50%. Gotta love slowmo :) Hope you're doing well.

the amazon listing mainly says 4K60FPS ... only in 2 places it says 6K, which look more like typos ... not a bad looking cam .. nice video as usual
This one says it on the box, and also in the menu system so they were definitely pushing this as a 6K camera. Not a bad camera at 4K at all, biggest issue was the audio. Thanks for watching !

I mean the video quality is not that bad- for the price, it's good. A little bit suspect - is the fact that they are trying to sell this as a 6k camera, the audio is not good even for an action camera- and I think this company is kinda new. However, if they keep improving from here, they could be a real player in the market.

Allot of these action cameras have overheating issues. How is the Gamsod far as any overheating after 20 min compared to the GoPro's? I dont have any action camera at this time. thanks for the video.
This is very true of all Action Cameras shooting in 4K, heck even my Sony A7SIII and A7IV get hot shooting in 4k as it's very taxing on the camera. The Gamsod was on par with all the others and GoPro but the Hero 10 will get REALLY hot shooting in 5.3K. Thanks for commenting and watching !

Given it's reasonable but no contest to GoPro how much is it is it budget enough to be worth it or not ?
That's a tough question, I always try to keep in mind the cost of the "budget" camera vs what it offers and what they claim it can do. I have seen some $60 action cameras perform very well given what they offer. A lot of this is subjective to the viewer and what THEY feel is worth "their" money and I just try to offer insight to pro's and con's and some real world testing. Thanks for watching !
Colors looked nice, audio is still a thing that needs to addressed with these budget action cameras. I would like to see this compared to a Hero 8.
I have to say all these waterproof action cameras have issues with their audio as they have not perfected it like GoPro did with the Hero 10. I can do a comparison of this against the Hero 8.

We can never get the best budget cameras in Australia. We only get the Brave 4 and 7LE. No brave 8, no sjcams 8 or 10s, no Xiaomis at all any more. SJ8 or Brave 8 would be my B roll, maybe some A roll camera of choice if I could get them. We got to 107 degrees here last week, do you think the heat affected any of the cameras at all? I was thinking some of the footage was probably a bit washed out due to the intensity of the light at that temperature.
I often find your footage looks rubbish on my phone then check that TH-cam is running at 360. Even going up on my phone to 720 fixes that problem and I see that they're not as bad as I first thought.

@@WORTHITORNOT Yes a lot of items have to come in from overseas and aren't stocked by the Australian branch of a company. I wanted 2 Sofern SC32 flashlights as Christmas gifts but they would have arrived Jan 23, they said. I was able to get 2 SC31 pro's from Australian stock in time for Christmas. The link you shared is from the US Amazon so the price is $280 AUD plus shipping. We have an Amazon Australia, they have other Akaso's but they only have the brave 4s and 7LE. Depends on what resolution you plan on shooting in? Do you need EIS? Do you need good audio? These are the questions that are important for your needs in shooting video.

That's so crazy. The chipset can't even handle 6K but they advertise it as such just because it's sized to that res. That's like pouring a 12 fluid ounce soft drink into a 10 oz cup, watching it overflow then claiming that you poured all the liquid and your can is now empty. Sounds misleading.
Yup that’s why at 13:35 I showed side by side with the Herp 10 5.3k and the resolution frame size was barely bigger, like 5.4K instead of 6K. These shenanigans with upscaling has been going on for years now.
@@WORTHITORNOT Does software that comes with these cameras also handle upscaling or is it all handled by the camera before the file is saved? I imagine some manufacturer will try that at some time - the camera can record in resolutions up to 4K in mp4 but for 6K, it records in our proprietary format and needs to be converted (upscaled).
@@SoundSpeeds Nope, all the interpolation/upscaling is done in camera as it’s writing to the card. Years ago some of these cameras said 4K but it was just upscaled to 3840x2160 to fool the consumers into thinking it’s real 4K. Just like 4K@60 is sometimes just 4K@30 with frame doubling.
I’ve got one camera that I’m reviewing that claims 4K@60 but it’s just 1080@60 upscaled. Shenanigans with a lot of these budget action cameras and have to really deep dive into all their claims

@@SoundSpeeds I just premiere pro for counting frames, moving one frame at a time. Regarding actual resolution, I do a side by side comparison against a sample that I know is 4k and do a side by side zoomed in. And also check to see if the sensor is at least 8MP as it’s the bare minimum for 4K

It's that bad of a camera, weak audio and fake 6K but the 4K and lower resolutions are good as is it's EIS but that's only my opinion and I respect yours ! Thanks for watching !

Yup, all the waterproof budget action cameras with dual screens are going off the Osmo Action design, but then again, so did GoPro with the Hero 9/10 with the dual screens :)
