Hi Matt top notch again. When I plan bathrooms I make a video of the room on my phone with a commentary and tape measure so you can look back constantly at the job. Hope this helps pal.

Yes mate. Do this too! It was the video that reminded me but I didn’t measure every bit. It is a great system but it just wasn’t clear. I think In the future I am going to take my laptop in. I can probably draw the room in 5 minutes! Will still video too tho as it’s a great hack.
Your bathrooms on instagram loom great btw mate💪🏻

      Hello again mate.
Not gonna lie I have been finding it hard at the moment. A balance between getting work done and getting content out and losing most of my content did not help! Anyway my choice and made worth while when I receive comments like this. Thanks for watching👍🏻

Good video again mate, I like the way your honest and show what it's really like running a workshop as a one man band designer, manufactureer, painter, pick up and delivery driver, fitter and the most important family man.
As for mdf I use MR Medite which I get from a couple of suppliers and have found like a speckerling on the face but with a good primer I can get over it but the biggest pisser is the difference in thickness, I tend to use stopped housing joints on a lot of my cabinets and the thickness varies from just over 17mm up to a good 18.5mm if the cabinet takes more than one sheet, doesn't sound a lot but having to keep nudging the jig over to accommodate the difference in thickness is a proper pain in the arse.

Thanks mate. I got anxiety reading that list of jobs😂
I hear you on the thickness! I have had medite vary on the same sheet! I only ever used to house the veneer boards but stopped for the same reason! It could be happening with others but that’s been my main board for a few years! The finsa feels so much better in quality and has a waxy finish which means fibre raise is so minimal! As you say a decent primer sorts it but it’s still a pain!
Thanks for checking in again. Have a good one!

Hi matt, Found the video really interesting. Regarding the issues with the MDF I wonder if the issues are down to cost cutting, especially with the Medite which in my opinion was always the premium MDF. I use a fair bit of the Finsa Hidrofugo and Medite and to be honest I can't see much difference. Regarding the painting of jobs, have you ever used Mighton's Paint system?. You may use them for Sash window ironmongery etc but about 18 months ago I started using their primer/sealers and also top coats. I find they give a really high build paint depth and easy to de-nib etc. Worth having a look and they can be applied by spray, brush and roller. Just a thought. You mentioned about the the door joint details on solid timber doors stress cracking over time. I make most of my doors out of steamed Beech and I've never had that issue. I wonder if it's down to Beech being really dense and hard compared to Tulipwood etc..
All the best and keep up the good work. Ade

Hi Adrian, yes I imagine cost cutting or supply! It’s only medite face that I think is bad. Tbh it does de nib no problem but the others are just better from the outset! Also finsa is way more uniform and stable. Toying with the idea of steamed beech on my next kitchen as we spoke about before will have to give it a go but I know it happen in mdf so still going to have an arris edge if I can. Tbh i really like the paint I am using (rennercoatings) I am lucky that they make it local to me and the rep has been good to me so doubt I will change but I will remember the name.
Glad you enjoyed the video. It’s only a small thing but changing how I filmed and Christmas really affected my groove so hoping I can get back to normal next week.
      Thanks for tuning back in!
