Horses actually only go strait and stick to paths reliably if their bond with Link is high enough. The game tells you to soothe your horse to increase your bond but you can actually force the bond to increase 10% by feeding them a food item (I use apples.) Feed them the needed amount and bond will be maxed out in seconds rather than minutes or hours.

    - If a Hinox grabs a curved palm tree - like the one on Eventide island - it can't hit you with it. It'll swing the same way as it would normally, but the trunk will arch above Link.
    - If you sneak up on a sleeping Hinox, you can climb onto its belly by standing on the palm of its hand and let yourself be hoisted up when it scratches itself.
    - Hinoxes carry various types of swords on their necks, and Stalnoxes have elemental weeapons embedded in their bodies.
    - Stalnoxes don't rise while you are watching their bones. Travel away and come back at night.
    - If intelligent enemies spot a bomb, they'll either run away from it or kick it in your direction.
    - If you are severely hurting for weapons, you can find a woodcutter's axe, battleaxe and/or sledgehammer near every stable.
    - Molduking, the special Molduga you fight in the Champion's Ballad DLC, is covered in metal armor, and is highly susceptible to shock damage.
    - If you upgrade the full Firebreaker, Rubber and Snowquill set twice, you become immune to elemental effects that burn, electrocute and freeze you, respectively, while you're wearing the full set. This can trivialize some shrines that rely on these gimmicks. They won't protect you from damage off freezing water or falling in lava.
    - Even though you can run around in a volcano with it, the Firebreaker doesn't protect agaist the heat in Gerudo desert. Shadows offer protection from heat in the desert.
    - You can ride other things than horses: mountain goats, deer, bears, the Lord of the Mountain and even a Stalhorse can be ridden by you. Unfortuately, you cannot register them. You can even jump on a Lynel's back for some massive damage while not using up any of the weapon's durability.
    - Boomerangs, including Lizalfos blades and arms can be thrown in a way that they'll return to the thrower. If you catch a flying boomerang with Magnesis, you can carry it around as a circular saw blade.
    - If you see three trees or cacti with a number of fruit on them, search for the one additional fruit that's not on the other two. Pick or shoot it, and you've just found a Korok.

Important note about helping NPC's: if they get knocked out before you help them, they won't give you anything for beating the monsters. Some of them just comment on how close they were to getting faded, but some will actually chew you out for taking too long to save them.
The Aris Beach chest contains an Amber, and the one in Hateno contains a Purple Rupee. They both seem to have been left over either from testing or from earlier versions of the game.

24:34 was something I found out on my first playthrough by accident and it was one of the most memorable moments for me. At some point early in the game, I was bumbling around randomly and didn't notice that a Lynel was nearby. I ran right into him. As I didn't play all that much yet, I was legitimately worried that this is certain death and when I saw him drawing his weapon, I was like a deer in the headlights. After a few suspenseful seconds of just standing and staring, I moved around him the long way until he put his weapon away and went back to minding his own business. Nothing says "I'm dangerous, stay away" quite like a Lyonel about to shoot you right in the face with Lightning arrows while charging straight at you. ...I suppose I should add that Lyonels only remain passive for about a minute, then if you're still in aggro range they get tired of waiting and attack regardless.

I think a better way to describe the % listed on the map would be MAP completion percentage. Every new "thing" you unlock on the map (whether it's 1 korok seed, 1 shrine, 1 location, or 1 divine beast) counts as 0.08%, which is why the distribution is skewed so heavily in favor of korok seeds and locations.

2 clarifying notes for any beginners:
    - The elemental weapons will only spawn in the colliseum after beating all 4 [spoilers]; prior to that, the enemies will hold levelled weapons of the Soldier/Knight/Royal variety!
    - [Item #145] will only work on Bokoblins, Moblins, Lizalfos, Lynels (only for a short while!), and Stahl (skeleton) enemies. It will *not* work on Octoroks, Keese, Wizzrobes, or Guardians!!

1: if you get all the chests in a shrine a small chest icon will appear next to the shrines name when you hover over it on the map
its a good way to see if you missed anything
2: doing a spin attack with a two handed weapon will put out fires and thus fire damage, you can even do it on death mountain (but you will start burning again after a few seconds)

    15 other facts:
    - Each sword has a unique radius for the area of grass you cut with a spin attack. Interestingly, the radius is not correlated to the length of the blade.
    - You can only hold 5 arrows on a wooden shield.
    - Some Zora flee when you shoot a shock arrow at them.
    - The rotation speed of Guardian Sentry's blades is not reduced during bullet time.
    - If you carry 60 meals and want to buy from Beedle, just agree to his trade offer. It's faster, since it triggers a single textbox rather than his monologue about stealing the beatle from you.
    - Bombs float on water but sink on lava, despite lava being denser than water.
    - Before starting Vah Rudania's quest, the cliffs it is rampaging on are protected by a giant invisible wall. This wall matches closely but not exactly the radial shape of the cliffs, and extends up to the skybox limit.
    - Links can wear a fireproof armor and still catch on fire and take damage: by getting too close to Vah Rudania during the Yunobo escort mission.
    - Starting Vah Ruta assault cancels moonjump.
    - During Vah Ruta assault, Link can reach the cliffs and get a Korok seed. Interestingly, it does not autosave.
    - During Vah Ruta assault, if Link reaches a cliff, Sidon does not know where to go and comes back to the starting dock.
    - During Vah Ruta assault, Link can break the ice with weapons. Doing so takes durability from them.
    - Once Ruta is pacified, there is a small portion of it where Link can land without triggering the "it's too dangerous to get closer" cutscene. However, the hitbox poorly matches the structure.
    - There are 62 variants of cooked/steamed/rosted/frozen ingredients, albeit only 60 slots. You cannot have all at once, which is unfortunate for collectionists.
    - Dying in lava sometimes plays the drowning animation.

Here’s a fun one: Soothing horses usually only increases their bond if they’re fighting against your control, but you can also get a free one when they slow down after using a spur. Since you can end the speed boost early by pulling back on the joystick, the fastest way to level up your horse’s bond that I’ve found (besides stuffing apples in their mouth) is by using a spur, immediately cancelling the speed boost, soothing, and repeating. 9 times out of 10, you’ll max out its bond before you make it to the nearest stable to register them.

Fun fact: If I remember correctly, the blood moons are used to clear the games ram. So if something goes wrong (or YOU do something weird). Then a blood moon can spawn in the middle of the day. For example: there is a way to duplicate horses, but if there is too many, the game may spawn a blood moon to fix your mess lol. (I believe nintendoblackcrisis covered this a while ago. It was very interesting)

Yep, want a blood moon to happen? Cut a bunch of grass. Because it takes a lot of ram for it to keep track of where you have cut the grass it has a high chance of doing a "panic blood moon" to reset the grass and lower the ram use. I found this out because I was cutting tons of grass near Hateno village to get Hylian rice and restless crickets and as I'm traipsing through the field on the sunny afternoon, boom, blood moon. This won't help for that one shrine that requires a blood moon, but it will reset overworld stuff if needed.

There are three ways to get the "Warm Doublet" on the Great Plateau. 1-Give the old man the dish he wants. 2-Get to the peak of Mt. Hylia without it, use a cooked pepper dish, and talk to the old man, he'll give it to you. 3-Get to, complete, and back from the shrine in the snow and return to the shack and you will find a chest with the garment inside. The parts toward the end about Lynels- how they can't be face-stunned while they have their Bows out, and how you taking your weapon out affects whether or not they start attacking right away- are definitely my favorite parts. I'd actually started to write a guide of my own when it comes to dealing with Lynels, and so I'd might as well share something interesting I've found about them that wasn't in either video.
As it turns out, some sword and crusher Lynels have one more trick up their sleeve- they may jump up fairly high and come crashing down in a fiery explosion not unlike the one they do when they roar. These are the Lynels I have seen perform this attack:
    >Tarm Point Lynel (sword)
    >Lynel south of the Hebra West Summit (crusher)
    >Shae Loya Shrine Lynel (crusher)
    >Coliseum Lynel (sword)
    >Lanayru East Gate Lynel (sword)
Notice how each of these are found on terrain that is not completely flat, whether there be nearby cliffs, downward slopes, or a pool of Malice. As a result, I theorize that the reason they perform these attacks is actually so they can correct their position given the terrain they have to deal with.

the biggest piece of advice i have is after you’ve visited hateno village and gotten the sheikah slate fixed, find three ancient screws to upgrade it so you can get sheikah slate + and start the hyrule compendium. once you upgrade the sheikah slate and you can tag pictures of objects in the compendium, find an ore deposit and a treasure chest and take a picture of each. it doesn’t matter which kind of treasure chest you take a picture of, they’re all the same in the compendium. but there are three types of ore deposits and the regular one (not the rare or luminous) is the most commonly found. then set the sheikah sensor to treasure chest or ore deposit and you can find gems to sell for money and many treasure chests have rupees. i figured this out early on and it helped me buy armor so i could explore even further, among other things!

This video was so great for little tips that didn't feel like spoilers, and also validated me in some things I tried to figure out!! (for instance, I left chuchu jelly out in a storm to see if lightning would strike it to make it electric) thanks for the positive boost for this zelda noob :)

    13. To clarify, you do have to defeat them BEFORE the NPC is knocked out. If they're knocked out, they may say something like, "Oh look, it's the guy who stood around watching instead of trying to help." Which is just great when they were already knocked out before you knew they were there.
    24. Indeed, on my current playthrough, I didn't get ANY hearts before maxing my Stamina Wheel. More Stamina means the ability to climb farther, after all, and that's just what some Shrines need.
    46. Very helpful for the Korok seed puzzles where you have to bring a rock over to finish a pattern formed by rocks you can't move.

12:16 Holding Y with torches probably the best way to melt ice. You can keep relighting arrows instead of torches if you don't want to keep a torch aorund since weapon slots are very low at the begining.
18:14 Bomb arrows makes quick work of many spots with multiple baloons.
20:15 weapons scale with world progression, before you take down Divine Beasts there will be no elemental weapons at the Coliseum. If someone wanna know the specifics: No beast = Soldier class; 2 Beasts = Knight Class; 3 Beasts = Royal class; and 4 beasts done = Elemental class.
20:30 the little dash while crouching is indeed a bit louder, also without stealth buff normal crouching speed is loud enough for the enemies to notice when you're almost close enough to sneakstrike. Either move slower or have at least tier 1 stealth bonus.
23:18 Throw the pebbles and they blow on impact.
Extra fun tip: If you hold the head of a stal enemy, even aggressive animals like wolves will flee.

I would say that the most efficient way of gaining money early on (you may need practice, so do save right before you try) is to parry the Lazers of walking Guardians near the Central Hyrule tower.
Parrying the shot negates damage to your shield and chips off a little over ⅓ of their health.
The items they drop can be sold for a significant profit, well worth the time spent fighting them once you've got the hang of it.
There are also two stationary Guardians near the tower, and two more on the Great Plateau.
    Go forth and profit.

A better way to get money early if you have the patience is to get a zoom in bow and farm farosh horns from his spawn point in the jungle. You can set up a campfire in a cave nearby his spawn to keep resetting him every time you get a horn and the horns will collect for a while the most i had sitting out was around 40

I did know most of these but there are several that I can't wait to try out. One of the most helpful tips my son gave me when I first started was that if wolves come near you, if you kill one the rest run away. Super helpful especially early in the game. I will disagree with you that it's better to get extra stamina because you can just have bonus hearts. I prefer to get hearts first so I can get the MS faster. Bonus hearts and stamina are both easy to get. I also recommend farming a few areas that are dense with items. Good video. Thanks for the tips.

Yeah, wolves behave like the real life ones, they don't want the other ones in the pack to get hurt. Another way to scare off wolves is to hold a lit torch as wild animals are afraid of fire. I haven't tested it on ohter wild animals. It also happened to me that wolves ran away when I was holding a skeletal arm as a weapon.

Alright the bit about the Molduga and dropping bombs in 'Tremors' fashion. Mate been wasting time and bomb arrows just waiting for them to jump out the sand. It is the same with the lava octoroks. If you have no rust arms to polish just drop a bomb, have them suck it up and boom. Oh and tip on climbing, it sometimes easier running up sideways on a hill rather than going straight up climb.

The Guardians Runners have also a second weak spot, it‘s underneath them. It’s the same spot as the flying Guardian because they Share the same body just upside down. So the flying one’s on top the runners underneath. You can run them with your horse over, then jump, go in bullet-time and shoot and ancient arrow right into the spot, the spot of the runners is open and glow in a blue light for the flying one’s they are sealed for some reason.

I learned a lot of new things even tho I've played hundreds of hours. I didn't realize there was a dish that sold for more than 5 cooked Sanke carp! Thx for the info!
I recommend heading for Satori Mountain after leaving the Great Plateau. There's horses right at the base of the GP, just shoot one with an ice arrow and jump on. You will need to have a stamina potion ready because Link's stamina will run out before the horse is tamed. Then I head to Satori Mountain asap for all the goodies there before heading to Dueling Peaks. I don't register my horse until I get to DP. If you leave the horse next to the water in front of the shrine and go talk to Rensa, it'll trigger the wild horse challenge. Then go back to the horse and ride up. Much faster than going out hunting one. You can't leave the horse too close to the stable or it won't trigger the side quest.
On my first game, the first time I escaped death by fast traveling and left my horse behind I thought I'd have to eventually go back and get it. I felt bad for abandoning it. Then I stopped at a stable to take out a different horse and the guy said first he'd board the other one. It made me very happy to know I didn't have to go back and retrieve it and that it was ok. It's very convenient to be able to leave a horse in the middle of nowhere and not have to go back on foot to get it.

Such as the ax at the woodsman's shack on the Great Plateau, 2 sledgehammers by Link's house in Hateno village, a Great Flameblade (always there no matter how much of the game you've completed) on the tall island of The Ancient Tree Stump west of the Central Tower, as well as lesser versions of each champion's special weapon in or near an important home or person in their village.
