This was the best time before 9/11/2001. Everything was awesome back then. That was the time of my life just having fun and not getting married for a 3rd time. One thing about living in Vegas is always something is moving and grooving good or bust. I love this city as long as it wants me here living. I even miss Vegas when I was in Iraq for 2 years for my combat tours. Getting home to Vegas was as is awesome because of the lovely folks who visit here and enjoy themselves. I love to see happy folks. Viva Las Vegas!!!
reddevilparatrooper that’s awesome bro I love Vegas too! And I miss it there! I love the energy and atmosphere. You feel so alive. I want to move back. It’s boring out here in Phoenix lol
I was alive back then, except I was not even a year old as I was born in February of 2001. But I was born and raised in Vegas, I'm sure you have seen how much this city has changed since then, what with the monorail, the High Roller, the freeways and the huge expansion.
Seems like this was filmed post-9/11 given the Christmas stuff that was out by New York New York. Strange that the 9/11 stuff isn't around the Statue of Liberty because I remember that stuff was kept up for months.
Thanks for posting this buddy, I was in Vegas for my 21st b-day in 2001. Boy does it bring back memories. This era marks the tail end of old Vegas for me. Dunes was gone, but Stardust was still there.
@@rclc161 I would have liked to live in the seventies, eighties, nineties and the beginning of the millennium I was born in 1999 and I wish I could live that time Iam cry right now😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
This is the year after I first got to experience Vegas for the first time ever. Stardust, The Frontier, The Boardwalk, The New Aladdin, The Sahara, The Riviera..man, it feels so different today compared to even this era..
I went to Vegas for a dance competition when I was 7 that same year, I'm sad I was nowhere near old enough to fully experience it, but the neon lights and energy still captivated me. I would love to go back in time and see it again. I might move there soon, I hope there is still some remnant that feel like 90s/early 00s Vegas.
You will. I recommend the free circus acts in Circus Circus, the Strat has some old school vibes but not as old school as Fremont of course. Themed casinos are almost inexistent at this point but you have Paris where you can view the center Strip. Today's casinos are mixed with neon lights and LED screens to light up
It’s funny, this is 2 years before I was born yet I love this time period more than anything. Late 90’s/ early 2000’s, just so cool, so chill, I really love it.
Damm man just like you bro I would have liked to live in the seventies, eighties, nineties and the beginning of the millennium. I always grieve and regret that I did not live in that wonderful time.
Very nostalgic. Feel like I saw this 'old' Vegas yesterday. Amazing now much changed from '81 to '01 but comparatively little has changed since then. I used to go often during the Vegas TV show days and stay at the Desert Inn where they filmed.
When all of the non-gaming attractions were still relatively new and popular. Maybe not as great an era as the 70s-80s but I'd take this time period in a heartbeat vs. now!
Old Vegas just sucked balls ! *So happy to see all those old hotels are finally gone !* Loved to see eyesores, like The Sands, Riviera, and Frontier, etc, are blown up ! 👍
My mom recently passed away and we went in 2001 I was hoping maybe seeing her in the clip 😭😭 honor your mother and father they are only here shortly 😭

Halloween 2001 I was on the strip. After 9/11, I remember it being surreal. People were extremely friendly.

I loved Johnny Seaton on that stage at the front door, this was the best Vegas era for me….

My very first time to Las Vegas was July 2001

I was there on Labor Day weekend. Yes, right before 9/11.
