She even won an award for her interpretation, it won't make sense for Chloe to have her "teen voice" again when she's almost 30. Ashly really breathed life into Chloe's personality back in LiS1 that I would be really disappointed if they just take Chloe away from her :(

He could have survived even if Arcadia Bay was destroyed (since some people did, like Steph who's in 3), and since he was protected inside the Diner, it's perfectly believable that he's alive

All I want is to see my sweet white knight Warren again. I saved the town to see him, Kate, Joyce, David and everyone else again. He and my Max are together and Warren has too much potential to show up again and go to the drive-in movie we couldn't go to in school.
💯 agreed! I had to save Arcadia Bay because it was the right thing to do. I couldn't let all the other characters die 😢 it was sad to sacrifice Chloe but it felt like a better ending..
I'm worried DE's narrative/characterisation of Max is going to suffer because (unless Deck Nine have the resources to essentially make both routes extremely different) I'm unsure how you create a sequel to LiS1 that honors both endings without making concessions writing-wise. Part of me wishes Deck Nine had made DE a follow up to a specific LiS1 ending à la the comics, which would have allowed them the freedom to explore all of the specificity of that particular ending.
i'm hoping and praying this game has enough budget to accommodate that - there were earlier leaks that made it seem like the game would follow the story of Max after she chose to sacrifice Chloe - I could see that working out to be a more "rounded" story for Double Exposure - kinda like how LiS1 has a LOT more impact in later episodes if Kate's attempt was successful. sometimes tragedy makes for better writing
See Victoria chase would make sense as in the comic that takes place on the Chloe alive timeline she and Max actually do patch things up towards the end of it. Victoria even askes Max to display some of her photos in her gallery.
Well, I never accepted that *everybody* would die in the tornado - ffs, there were animals jumping and flying around in the ruins. The only person confirmed dead by LiS 2 with save Chloe cameo is Joyce. Even the accidents that we see happen when Max goes to town to get Warren's photo aren't bound to re-happen the same way because Max having acted differently at the party could have caused so many different ripples for any of the people she interacted with - we know how crazy the game goes on the butterfly effect ;D Regarding Max's PTSD, the only person she could ever talk about it to would be Chloe. i recently replayed LiS 1 for recording purposes, and i can hand-on-heart say there’s no way they’re breaking up. the connection of pricefield is crazy! with regards to arcadia bay - yeah! we already know that Victoria, Jefferson and David are alive - i’d like to get confirmed answers on a few other characters
I'd love to see Victoria as Max's colleague, but there is an option in LiS1 where she doesn't get kidnapped, so if I'm not mistaken it's possible for her to die in the storm if you save Chloe.
i was initially confused about this - but when Max goes back to prevent Chloe from entering the party through Warren’s photo, Jefferson kidnaps Victoria - which means that her ending up in the dark room in the Sacrifice Arcadia Bay timeline is canon :)

If I was making the upcoming game, the person Max would be trying to save would be an older Daniel Diaz, as she would find out about his powers, and after the two connect, Max tries everything in her power to keep the only other person who might understand what she goes through alive.
If David returns I can imagine him and Max lovingly hugging each other and saying how good it is to catch up. I often wonder though if she was aware of the incident in Seattle (and I would believe her to be on Sean and Daniel’s side if they ever did meet back then)
Due to the endings in LIS2 Sean coming back as a protagonist would seem unlikely based on where he is or dead but if any continuation were to happen then Daniel would likely be that one to take his place
A little late but just thought I'd throw it out there. Surprised no one has mentioned Nathan as a candidate for a returning character. IMO it would be interesting and full of narrative potential. Perhaps he's back as an unlikely ally to make amends, with Max unsure whether to trust him or not. Timeline-wise, if Max sacrificed Chloe, then Nathan went to prison and is now out on parole. If Max sacrificed Arcadia Bay, it's revealed that Nathan had gone into hiding this whole time, courtesy of Daddy Sean Prescott.

Honest I think it would be better that when Sophie is dead Max most likely would be traumatized remembering how Chloe died a few times in the actual series and not wanting what happened to Chloe to happen to Sophie which also would make her remember that period when she was in that dark room (that's just what I think it might happen)

Imagine a life is strange game where the two dimensions connect Max and Chole. 1 dimension with a dead Chole but a saved city, and the other with a living Chloe but a destroyed city. Your goal is to restore both dimensions by restoring all the actions you did with your ability so that the city remains intact, but Chole does not die, so that the common story continues in another game. What do you think? Could this even be part four?
Once Max reversed time, she created an alternate reality. It's probably impossible to undo that because the only way to do so would be to go back in time and stop Max from going back in time. You're still going back in time and changing something, thereby creating alternate realities. By stopping an alternate reality from being created, you're creating a different one yourself. It's like murdering a murderer to stop a murder from happening. You stopped one but created another one. So maybe you COULD have a reality in which both Arcadia Bay AND Chloe are all right, but that's just a third reality you've created. The other realities still exist. You just want to camp out in the one you like. Or something like that.

Deck Nine shouldn't canonize either romantic relationship, because they could easily canonize either one by the fact that Max could kiss either one of Warren or Chloe. When you called Chloe Max's girlfriend, you were speaking from opinion as Max's sexuality is not canon but rather decided by the player. Seeing as Max could kiss Warren, there is definitely a possibility that they are or were romantic by the setting of this next game, just as there is a possibility that Chloe and Max weren't ever romantic. Also Warren was a genuine person so holding him to such low standards isn't fair.
2:58 Yes, we need something positive about choosing to save Arcadia Bay, not only the grief of losing Chloe. This was something that bothered me in LiS 2, for example: those who saved Chloe got the reward of seeing Max and Chloe living it up, while those of us who saved Arcadia Bay just got David and Joyce's divorce and the grief of Chloe's death. There's a tendency for people to frame saving Arcadia Bay (and sacrificing Chloe) as a cold, Spock-like decision of moral logic; the head decision rather than the heart decision, as it were. And while of course the morality of the decision was important, I also chose to save Arcadia Bay for the characters I had met, talked to, built friendships with, helped through their problems, and grown to care for. I felt happy that they got to live as much as I was devastated that it cost Chloe's life. And I want to see how they're going since then. I don't think the appearances need to be super involved, but I can imagine, for example, Max looking over a yearbook with pictures and memories of the various Blackwell students. Or a social media page for a class reunion with messages between them.
I really hope we get some great changes in both playthroughs depending on which route you chose in the original game. It'd be cool to see how things turn out in the save arcadia playthrough, but I'm curious to know about how Jefferson will play in both routes. In one route, Max was technically never in the dark room, but only in theory and memory she was since she did truly experience those awful things. She probably wouldn't have had to talk Kate down from the roof as well in that ending. But on the save Chloe route, all of those things did still happen, nothing from the original time line we played through changes.
You can save Chloe and just remain BFF’s or you can save Chloe and be romantically involved. I love how they do give you options whether or not Max is only into girls or is into both girls and boys. I hope to see Kate get name dropped and Warren but I’m having my doubts they will be.

For a second, I thought you talked about CONFIRMED returning characters, rather than possible ones ;) When it comes to differences between the two timelines, I think it’s only logical that the developers wouldn’t reveal a big twist like a Bay/Bae split. And Max herself, who is pretty hesitant about sharing any details about her past, likely wouldn’t reveal any differences that are deeply personal to her. So I think a Bay/Bae split is still possible … but no, I don’t _really_ believe in it ;) Thanks for mentioning that both routes should have something substantial in order to make them equally rewarding :) So, which characters could make an appearance? Chloe: She almost definitely will make a physical appearance in the Bae route, and likely appear in nightmares in the Bay route. Hell, I would be more surprised if she DIDN’T appear! Victoria: She has the highest possibility for appearing in both routes, and I would love to see how much she changed! And even if she doesn’t appear, getting a reference related to her possible future photographs is very likely, I think :) Kate: Yes please! As a fan favorite, she would be a very rewarding reappearance for Bayers. I can easily imagine her and Max staying friends after high school :) Warren: Here, I think a re-appearance could really help in showing his growth. I think many people forget that he was only sixteen in Life is Strange, and likely wouldn’t show the same behavior later in life. Joyce: Probably the highest possibility for the Bay route, since she could easily replace a possible Chloe reappearance in Bae. Plus, I’d be interested to know how she lives her life ten years after Chloe’s death … Mark Jefferson: Hopefully only in nightmares o.O I really love your point about Max’s trauma that technically never happened; this could make for a very interesting narrative in both routes! I wish they'd just bite the bullet and give us all what we truly want. Make some things canon. But, the way to do it is; make a game where Max goes back to save both Chloe and Rachel without sacrificing Arcadia Bay. Make it canon that Kate survives and she can be in it, too. Make it hard to get that outcome where everyone survives, but make it the end goal. I know, I sound like I just want a happy ending and in reality, that's usually not possible. But, this isn't reality. It's a video game. Give us a good ending for all of these characters we love. It'd be much more satisfying.
I feel like no matter what Chloe is dead. Because even in life is strange 2, even if you chose Chloe in life is strange too apparently she dies a couple years afterwards if you “ saved” her anyway

Good point, althoughthe that dark room conversation with Max was cancelled through photo-jump in the Bae eanding. While in the Bay ending Max never used her powers (in the universe that everybody else lived that week) In the bae ending, Jefferson is caught redhanded by David and the police team while he caprured Victiria and after killing Nathan - he might therefore even be accused of killing Rachel. In the Bay ending on the other hand there's only Nathan's word and Nathan is the one who always bought the drugs and killed Rachel.
They will most likely honor one ending where Chloe lives, which means the game's budget probably won’t increase significantly. If they include most of the Arcadia Bay characters, the budget will be higher and at the end of the day they also need to make a profit, so you can guess what that implies...i know its kind of cynical thinking but its real world
ok, so, starting from the point where Max went back to Warren's photo to hide with Clhoe. She ended up never telling Victoria about Jefferson and it's very likely that he kidnapped her anyway when he announced the winning photo. If you choose to save Arcadia, obviously Victoria will live normally and Max will probably help her to be a better person. But, apparently, if you choose Clhoe, Victoria will end up surviving (with a lot of traumas), because she was trapped in the dark room and David went to save her
I chose to romance Warren so if he did return (depending on whether he survived the storm if that was the ending), that choice would likely stay on. Call me homophobic but I do respect the other choices made and the same goes for Sean's choices in LIS2 and Alex's in True Colors

I think Nathan might be mentioned at some point... but I don't think he will return. which is sad for me, because I would love to see the plot twist about Nathan knows about Max's powers and what he can see alternative timelines. but it's just me... I was so sad when I find out that there's a some voice lines of Nathan where he talking about the storm.
Interesting thing I noticed, idk if this was a bug in the game originally or this is new, but as Max and Chloe are walking along the tracks at 1:02 the switch blades, the two bits of track that move to direct the trains, are in the wrong place, they're laterally offset.
And perhaps another reference or something to Rachel Amber or her parents, and even biologic mother. Still feel that BtS, told a great Rachel story and that LiS didn't do her ending justice as ignoring the huge impact Rachel and her parents had in Arcadia Bay and that the death of Rachel only seemed to impact Chloe, but nobody else. I think Rachel deserves more recognition. May it be a flashback or, whatever. We need more of her. Besides want to know how the next gen graphics would make her look.
Knowing that it's a new power to travel between realities, all Max has to do is find a reality where Arcadia isn't destroyed AND Chloe's alive, right? In the other reality things might be different.
Can't forget Ashly trained Rhianna for the role of Chloe and I think she did a great job. Ashly is Chloe and always will be of course I hope to have her voice her but the voice in this video did not sound like Rhianna either.. to me anyways. I can't see the others coming back. Kate is dead in some people's play-through. Be nice if she did if alive I can't remember Vic at Chloe's funeral but I might be wrong, Jefferson na unless he gets relesed from jail and he's not killed by David maybe then he comes looking for Max but I don't see it I kmow one thing the End of October/November can't come soon enough. I can see an extra episode about nathan, if anything. or an brief episode of him, in a therapy session, fighting off his own traumas and his own guilt about everything he did. its a bit of copium, but Nathan has alot of character development to be worked on, and people would dig on it if Deck nine made it in a good way that also involved other characters from arcadia bay.
Here’s what I’m thinking about and that hasn’t really been brought up before. The comic series about Max and Chloe after the game is set uses the same premise of the multiverse theory to save and get back to the correct timeline. Not only that, but some comic characters and inspiration are IN Double Exposure. I have all the comics if you’d like to see what I’m talking about with parallels!!
Tbh I’ve always kind of wanted a sequel following Victoria. I wanted her to get a real redemption arc. I would hope we got a game seeing her return to poetry and written art. One of the in game documents you can view reveals she actually likes it better, and only went to photography because of Jefferson. Maybe we could have powers based on her writing in some way.
Rhianna is probably Deck Nine's Chloe, but I do prefer the original, Dontnod performance. Ashly Burch is the Chloe everyone fell in love with. As a part of who she is as David Hayter to Solid Snake, imo. If she comes back, I don't want the non-union stand in.
If all Deck9 gives us is some dialog choices, you can’t count that as a return. Parking Max in EXACTLY the same place in life after sacrificing her best friend or Arcadia Bay isn’t really the best look for a choice based narrative connected series. Player choices don’t matter to Deck9 and Double Exposure is kinda rebranding their IP as “Life is Pointless.” 😢
We’re not talking about a choice of whether you should lie to your gf or who you should date. You know. Deck9 conundrums. This is THE choice that has reverberated through all the games and inspired fans to create literally thousands of works on AO3 about the circumstances and fate of the many characters. That choice should have an effect on where Max’s life is 10 years later. A lot more of an effect than dialogue selections and modified cut scenes. It SHOULD matter a little more than that, and that’s where Deck9 screwed up. If any choice would lead a character down a separate life path, regardless if Chloe is an active part, it’s that one. 🤷♀️
Also. Max has a freaking super power that she doesn’t touch for a decade? Talk about putting a character in the fridge so that she’s still minty fresh when Deck9 decides to deterministically park her at a school, with hipster friends, and then shoot one of them to awaken new powers. You know. For old times sake? Granted, the no-Chloe part stings me, personally, the most, but that’s not even vaguely respecting player choice or moving the story forward. That’s barfing up a toxic stew of remember and maybe berries all over the fans that are still around after 10 years. 😂
by this point in time, I think the game takes place around the same time as the "six years later" flashbacks - so at this point, Daniel is around 16/17, living with the Reynolds/Sean in Mexico/Mexico alone :(
Can someone explain how this works? Is it different universe or is saving Chloe the canon ending? Then if it’s a different universe and this game is about going between 2 universes I wish there is/was a universe where Rachel lived and the 3 of them being friends which would change the story of the original henceforth changing double exposure.
I tell you Jefferson will so return. Here is my new theory. Mark Jefferson is the good guy, he's a hero. He likely got hired by the Prescotts to kill the time traveler who will destroy Arcadia Bay. A hint can be found in a deleted audio recording where Nathan screams: "listen to me, i'm not crazy, the storm will come", hinting that Nathan had time travel powers. Life is Strange 4 comes out in October, and is a sequel where Max and Chloe live on after they destroyed Arcadia Bay
I doubt it, he would must likely get the capital punishment for what he have done, and the Prescots will most likely be investigated as Nathan was also arrested, as it happened in the reality Max reported Jefferson using her diary, so no one to bail him either, and in the reality that the hurricane happened, everyone but David, Max and Chloe dies as it's shown in Lis 2, and if this audio it was deleted, it mostly likely means it was a discarded concept so it's really not that good of a "proof", Lis 4 will also have the option to chose if you sacrificed Chloe or not
I just wish they werent making this game, or just changed the main character to be someone new. As dontnod said, there really is no way to continue the story of lis 1. I feel like this game is a cash grab

It's not life is strange 4. We haven't even had 3 yet. If you were going purely based on the number released. This would be 5 anyway. Exposure is more of a sequel to the first game. Or an expansion, expanding onto the original story. Chloe wasn't Max's girlfriend either. Not once is that ever implied and the kiss scene at the end requires very specific choices, that hardly anyone even sees it. Did you even play the games or are you just looking for views by jumping on a big named game release? Chloe's return would be entirely dependent on if the Devs decide to sync the first games choices to this one, like they did with 2. If they do. Anyone who chooses to sync them and sacrificed Chloe wouldn't see her again. There's also the statement you made about victoria surviving both time lines. That's literally impossible if you're syncing your choices to the new games because she can die. If she dies, she's obviously not going to be appearing in your version of exposure. Countong flashbacks as characters appearing makes no sense.
I would absolutely love to see Warren in Double Exposure as a love interest again. He's probably the character I wanna see return the most.

In life is strange 2, You can find a letter from her in David's trailer thanking him for saving her life from Jefferson’s bunker after the storm. So she is alive in either ending.

I'm worried DE's narrative/characterisation of Max is going to suffer because (unless Deck Nine have the resources to essentially make both routes extremely different) I'm unsure how you create a sequel to LiS1 that honors both endings without making concessions writing-wise.
Part of me wishes Deck Nine had made DE a follow up to a specific LiS1 ending à la the comics, which would have allowed them the freedom to explore all of the specificity of that particular ending.
i'm hoping and praying this game has enough budget to accommodate that - there were earlier leaks that made it seem like the game would follow the story of Max after she chose to sacrifice Chloe - I could see that working out to be a more "rounded" story for Double Exposure - kinda like how LiS1 has a LOT more impact in later episodes if Kate's attempt was successful. sometimes tragedy makes for better writing
See Victoria chase would make sense as in the comic that takes place on the Chloe alive timeline she and Max actually do patch things up towards the end of it. Victoria even askes Max to display some of her photos in her gallery.

Well, I never accepted that *everybody* would die in the tornado - ffs, there were animals jumping and flying around in the ruins. The only person confirmed dead by LiS 2 with save Chloe cameo is Joyce. Even the accidents that we see happen when Max goes to town to get Warren's photo aren't bound to re-happen the same way because Max having acted differently at the party could have caused so many different ripples for any of the people she interacted with - we know how crazy the game goes on the butterfly effect ;D
Regarding Max's PTSD, the only person she could ever talk about it to would be Chloe. That's also why, I would never see them going separate ways.

I'd love to see Victoria as Max's colleague, but there is an option in LiS1 where she doesn't get kidnapped, so if I'm not mistaken it's possible for her to die in the storm if you save Chloe.
i was initially confused about this - but when Max goes back to prevent Chloe from entering the party through Warren’s photo, Jefferson kidnaps Victoria - which means that her ending up in the dark room in the Sacrifice Arcadia Bay timeline is canon :)

If I was making the upcoming game, the person Max would be trying to save would be an older Daniel Diaz, as she would find out about his powers, and after the two connect, Max tries everything in her power to keep the only other person who might understand what she goes through alive.
If David returns I can imagine him and Max lovingly hugging each other and saying how good it is to catch up. I often wonder though if she was aware of the incident in Seattle (and I would believe her to be on Sean and Daniel’s side if they ever did meet back then)
Due to the endings in LIS2 Sean coming back as a protagonist would seem unlikely based on where he is or dead but if any continuation were to happen then Daniel would likely be that one to take his place
A little late but just thought I'd throw it out there. Surprised no one has mentioned Nathan as a candidate for a returning character. IMO it would be interesting and full of narrative potential. Perhaps he's back as an unlikely ally to make amends, with Max unsure whether to trust him or not. Timeline-wise, if Max sacrificed Chloe, then Nathan went to prison and is now out on parole. If Max sacrificed Arcadia Bay, it's revealed that Nathan had gone into hiding this whole time, courtesy of Daddy Sean Prescott.

Honest I think it would be better that when Sophie is dead Max most likely would be traumatized remembering how Chloe died a few times in the actual series and not wanting what happened to Chloe to happen to Sophie which also would make her remember that period when she was in that dark room (that's just what I think it might happen)

That sounds like Chloe to me, Safi's voice is very different, it's a flashback though, even if that was Chloe screaming Max that wouldn't confirm that she will appear on the game

Imagine a life is strange game where the two dimensions connect Max and Chole. 1 dimension with a dead Chole but a saved city, and the other with a living Chloe but a destroyed city. Your goal is to restore both dimensions by restoring all the actions you did with your ability so that the city remains intact, but Chole does not die, so that the common story continues in another game. What do you think? Could this even be part four?
Once Max reversed time, she created an alternate reality. It's probably impossible to undo that because the only way to do so would be to go back in time and stop Max from going back in time. You're still going back in time and changing something, thereby creating alternate realities. By stopping an alternate reality from being created, you're creating a different one yourself. It's like murdering a murderer to stop a murder from happening. You stopped one but created another one. So maybe you COULD have a reality in which both Arcadia Bay AND Chloe are all right, but that's just a third reality you've created. The other realities still exist. You just want to camp out in the one you like.

Deck Nine shouldn't canonize either romantic relationship, because they could easily canonize either one by the fact that Max could kiss either one of Warren or Chloe. When you called Chloe Max's girlfriend, you were speaking from opinion as Max's sexuality is not canon but rather decided by the player. Seeing as Max could kiss Warren, there is definitely a possibility that they are or were romantic by the setting of this next game, just as there is a possibility that Chloe and Max weren't ever romantic. Also Warren was a genuine person so holding him to such low standards isn't fair.

This was something that bothered me in LiS 2, for example: those who saved Chloe got the reward of seeing Max and Chloe living it up, while those of us who saved Arcadia Bay just got David and Joyce's divorce and the grief of Chloe's death.
There's a tendency for people to frame saving Arcadia Bay (and sacrificing Chloe) as a cold, Spock-like decision of moral logic; the head decision rather than the heart decision, as it were. And while of course the morality of the decision was important, I also chose to save Arcadia Bay for the characters I had met, talked to, built friendships with, helped through their problems, and grown to care for. I felt happy that they got to live as much as I was devastated that it cost Chloe's life. And I want to see how they're going since then.
I don't think the appearances need to be super involved, but I can imagine, for example, Max looking over a yearbook with pictures and memories of the various Blackwell students. Or a social media page for a class reunion with messages between them.
I really hope we get some great changes in both playthroughs depending on which route you chose in the original game. It'd be cool to see how things turn out in the save arcadia playthrough, but I'm curious to know about how Jefferson will play in both routes. In one route, Max was technically never in the dark room, but only in theory and memory she was since she did truly experience those awful things. She probably wouldn't have had to talk Kate down from the roof as well in that ending. But on the save Chloe route, all of those things did still happen, nothing from the original time line we played through changes.
You can save Chloe and just remain BFF’s or you can save Chloe and be romantically involved. I love how they do give you options whether or not Max is only into girls or is into both girls and boys. I hope to see Kate get name dropped and Warren but I’m having my doubts they will be.

The title is a little misleading! For a second, I thought you talked about CONFIRMED returning characters, rather than possible ones ;)
When it comes to differences between the two timelines, I think it’s only logical that the developers wouldn’t reveal a big twist like a Bay/Bae split. And Max herself, who is pretty hesitant about sharing any details about her past, likely wouldn’t reveal any differences that are deeply personal to her. So I think a Bay/Bae split is still possible … but no, I don’t _really_ believe in it ;)
Thanks for mentioning that both routes should have something substantial in order to make them equally rewarding :) So, which characters could make an appearance?
Chloe: She almost definitely will make a physical appearance in the Bae route, and likely appear in nightmares in the Bay route. Hell, I would be more surprised if she DIDN’T appear!
Victoria: She has the highest possibility for appearing in both routes, and I would love to see how much she changed! And even if she doesn’t appear, getting a reference related to her possible future photographs is very likely, I think :)
Kate: Yes please! As a fan favorite, she would be a very rewarding reappearance for Bayers. I can easily imagine her and Max staying friends after high school :)
Warren: Here, I think a re-appearance could really help in showing his growth. I think many people forget that he was only sixteen in Life is Strange, and likely wouldn’t show the same behavior later in life.
Joyce: Probably the highest possibility for the Bay route, since she could easily replace a possible Chloe reappearance in Bae. Plus, I’d be interested to know how she lives her life ten years after Chloe’s death …
Mark Jefferson: Hopefully only in nightmares o.O I really love your point about Max’s trauma that technically never happened; this could make for a very interesting narrative in both routes!
I’d also be happy about returning characters from other games. My personal Top 5:
1 - Brody! As a traveling journalist, he could basically appear everywhere :)

i absolutely love love love your thoughts about the significance of each character in max's life - it's easy to speculate really far into how involved Chloe will be in her life - no doubt that's what's on a lot of people's minds - but it's so important that people who chose to sacrifice her don't feel shafted out of content!
with regards to your ideas for other characters returning - massive yes to all of these! decknine love their little cameos and references, and I'd love to see a bit of LiS 2 love, even if it's only a minor character like Jacob or Brody!

Like...we made this choice to have Chloe play an important role in Max's life. The Bayers shouldn't be offended if their version doesn't include Chloe. They made that choice.

I wish they'd just bite the bullet and give us all what we truly want. Make some things canon. But, the way to do it is; make a game where Max goes back to save both Chloe and Rachel without sacrificing Arcadia Bay. Make it canon that Kate survives and she can be in it, too. Make it hard to get that outcome where everyone survives, but make it the end goal. I know, I sound like I just want a happy ending and in reality, that's usually not possible. But, this isn't reality. It's a video game. Give us a good ending for all of these characters we love. It'd be much more satisfying.
I feel like no matter what Chloe is dead. Because even in life is strange 2, even if you chose Chloe in life is strange too apparently she dies a couple years afterwards if you “ saved” her anyway

Good point, althoughthe that dark room conversation with Max was cancelled through photo-jump in the Bae eanding. While in the Bay ending Max never used her powers (in the universe that everybody else lived that week)
In the bae ending, Jefferson is caught redhanded by David and the police team while he caprured Victiria and after killing Nathan - he might therefore even be accused of killing Rachel.
In the Bay ending on the other hand there's only Nathan's word and Nathan is the one who always bought the drugs and killed Rachel.
They will most likely honor one ending where Chloe lives, which means the game's budget probably won’t increase significantly. If they include most of the Arcadia Bay characters, the budget will be higher and at the end of the day they also need to make a profit, so you can guess what that implies...i know its kind of cynical thinking but its real world
ok, so, starting from the point where Max went back to Warren's photo to hide with Clhoe. She ended up never telling Victoria about Jefferson and it's very likely that he kidnapped her anyway when he announced the winning photo.
If you choose to save Arcadia, obviously Victoria will live normally and Max will probably help her to be a better person.
But, apparently, if you choose Clhoe, Victoria will end up surviving (with a lot of traumas), because she was trapped in the dark room and David went to save her
I chose to romance Warren so if he did return (depending on whether he survived the storm if that was the ending), that choice would likely stay on. Call me homophobic but I do respect the other choices made and the same goes for Sean's choices in LIS2 and Alex's in True Colors

I think Nathan might be mentioned at some point... but I don't think he will return. which is sad for me, because I would love to see the plot twist about Nathan knows about Max's powers and what he can see alternative timelines. but it's just me... I was so sad when I find out that there's a some voice lines of Nathan where he talking about the storm.
Interesting thing I noticed, idk if this was a bug in the game originally or this is new, but as Max and Chloe are walking along the tracks at 1:02 the switch blades, the two bits of track that move to direct the trains, are in the wrong place, they're laterally offset.
And perhaps another reference or something to Rachel Amber or her parents, and even biologic mother.
Still feel that BtS, told a great Rachel story and that LiS didn't do her ending justice as ignoring the huge impact Rachel and her parents had in Arcadia Bay and that the death of Rachel only seemed to impact Chloe, but nobody else.
I think Rachel deserves more recognition. May it be a flashback or, whatever. We need more of her. Besides want to know how the next gen graphics would make her look.
Knowing that it's a new power to travel between realities, all Max has to do is find a reality where Arcadia isn't destroyed AND Chloe's alive, right?

Here’s what I’m thinking about and that hasn’t really been brought up before. The comic series about Max and Chloe after the game is set uses the same premise of the multiverse theory to save and get back to the correct timeline. Not only that, but some comic characters and inspiration are IN Double Exposure.

Tbh I’ve always kind of wanted a sequel following Victoria. I wanted her to get a real redemption arc. I would hope we got a game seeing her return to poetry and written art. One of the in game documents you can view reveals she actually likes it better, and only went to photography because of Jefferson. Maybe we could have powers based on her writing in some way.
Personally I'd love to see Frank return although I'm sure that's an unpopular opinion as well as being highly unlikely.

If all Deck9 gives us is some dialog choices, you can’t count that as a return. Parking Max in EXACTLY the same place in life after sacrificing her best friend or Arcadia Bay isn’t really the best look for a choice based narrative connected series. Player choices don’t matter to Deck9 and Double Exposure is kinda rebranding their IP as “Life is Pointless.” 😢
Choices do matter, they just don't matter to the grand scale you want them to.
We’re not talking about a choice of whether you should lie to your gf or who you should date. You know. Deck9 conundrums. This is THE choice that has reverberated through all the games and inspired fans to create literally thousands of works on AO3 about the circumstances and fate of the many characters. That choice should have an effect on where Max’s life is 10 years later. A lot more of an effect than dialogue selections and modified cut scenes. It SHOULD matter a little more than that, and that’s where Deck9 screwed up. If any choice would lead a character down a separate life path, regardless if Chloe is an active part, it’s that one. 🤷♀️
Also. Max has a freaking super power that she doesn’t touch for a decade? Talk about putting a character in the fridge so that she’s still minty fresh when Deck9 decides to deterministically park her at a school, with hipster friends, and then shoot one of them to awaken new powers. You know. For old times sake? Granted, the no-Chloe part stings me, personally, the most, but that’s not even vaguely respecting player choice or moving the story forward. That’s barfing up a toxic stew of remember and maybe berries all over the fans that are still around after 10 years. 😂

I tell you Jefferson will so return. Here is my new theory. Mark Jefferson is the good guy, he's a hero. He likely got hired by the Prescotts to kill the time traveler who will destroy Arcadia Bay. A hint can be found in a deleted audio recording where Nathan screams: "listen to me, i'm not crazy, the storm will come", hinting that Nathan had time travel powers. I doubt it, he would must likely get the capital punishment for what he have done, and the Prescots will most likely be investigated as Nathan was also arrested, as it happened in the reality Max reported Jefferson using her diary, so no one to bail him either, and in the reality that the hurricane happened, everyone but David, Max and Chloe dies as it's shown in Lis 2, and if this audio it was deleted, it mostly likely means it was a discarded concept so it's really not that good of a "proof", Lis 4 will also have the option to chose if you sacrificed Chloe or not
I just wish they werent making this game, or just changed the main character to be someone new. As dontnod said, there really is no way to continue the story of lis 1. I feel like this game is a cash grab

If Mark Jefferson returns, then so shall I, to this unhappily divorced franchise. The lack of a properly unabashed villain in LiS just makes everything so gosh darn taxing. We're all monsters, I get it, leave me alone! I just want somebody to put the protagonists' burdens on! Mark Jefferson (Derek Phillips) is perfect for that.

i feel the exact same way - no villain has properly gripped me since Jefferson! i get it, we're all terrible people, good people make bad decisions, etc etc. but LiS 1's villain was so captivating because of how much of an unabashed psychopath he was!

It's not life is strange 4. We haven't even had 3 yet. If you were going purely based on the number released. This would be 5 anyway. Exposure is more of a sequel to the first game. Or an expansion, expanding onto the original story. Chloe wasn't Max's girlfriend either. Not once is that ever implied and the kiss scene at the end requires very specific choices, that hardly anyone even sees it. Did you even play the games or are you just looking for views by jumping on a big named game release? Chloe's return would be entirely dependent on if the Devs decide to sync the first games choices to this one, like they did with 2. If they do. Anyone who chooses to sync them and sacrificed Chloe wouldn't see her again. There's also the statement you made about victoria surviving both time lines. That's literally impossible if you're syncing your choices to the new games because she can die. If she dies, she's obviously not going to be appearing in your version of exposure. Countong flashbacks as characters appearing makes no sense.
