The most effective way to shieldspin is using a trackpoint style mouse like on Thinkpad laptops. It will allow you to hold one direction and you will keep spinning indefinitely.
I played on a drawing tablet I use to play Osu! Usually, I used the mouse setting to play OW, which makes the pen behave like a normal mouse would, but if you use the pen setting, the tablet maps the screen, meaning just placing the pen on the side will spin you indefinitely as well. Each tick the server brings back your cursor to the center and calculates the distance travelled by the cursor to calculate camera spin, and in the next tick, your cursor is already on the side of the screen again.
The scariest thing about the 6 bastions for me is that there is a chance that some poor crusader was actually put in a situation like that during the omnic crisis
0:15 My man programmed that camera movement in the OW workshop and filmed the same scene on the green screen workshop map and the island workshop map seperately to make that edit... You deserve all of the recognition you can get, dude!
He really did, wow. I thought he used some tricks that would have the same effect, but be way easier to make, like filming the bastion shooting on the green screen map, then cutting to the same exact angle to the workshop island and greenscreening that bastion manually, in order to do the camera panning. It would take time, but it would be way easier. However, if you look closely, the bullet patterns on the floor, they are different as the transition wipe goes over them, which confirms that they are 2 different videos, filmed in the exact same way. Ironically, the way I thought to do it wouldn't have that problem. But after a point, these details become irrelevant, and even though I thought of it, I wouldn't have even dreamt of polishing it to half of that degree. Dude is an artist.

How did you go from a unknown minecraft player to a high production overwatch Mythbuster in the making? The editing and style is very nice man, also have a good day :)
This kind of informative and visually efficient way of presenting content reminds me so much of Shounic who has been making TF2 content exactly like this. In any case Marblr, I hope you continue with this method of showing content because you'll surpass those creators that have drawn out intros and videos.
I have always wondered if the Overwatch engine favors flickshots somehow. Yanking your mouse 360 degrees at the speed of light somehow headshots an incoming tracer. More often then you'd expect. Is this something you can test @Marblr?
You can fire your weapon between frames in Overwatch which might explain some generous-looking flicks. Blizzard has a forum post about this feature: us.forums.blizzard.com/en/overwatch/t/new-feature-high-precision-mouse-input-gameplay-option/422094 I'm not sure if there's extra leniency with this, but it can probably be tested with the workshop somehow
The game definitely "favors" flicks and shooting while moving your mouse in general, that's the feeling I got in the two years I've been playing this game at least, mostly because of this high precision mouse input thing^
Interesting thread but it will never answer the question if it's just a bias (on my side) or the engine really does bug out and give some sort of advantage to a flick.
@@JeffreyHage I get that feeling playing other shooters too, so I wonder if it's universal to shooters or if it's jist suprisingly easy to hit flickshots compared to slower tracking
Ahahaha your editing in this was delightful. Loved the buildup to Rein shield-spinning...only to have him shredded in the same amount of time (complete with the music cutting out). Also, love the use of the Kirby 64 soundtrack. The music works really well with your video style.
These videos actually have effort put into them and an actual script that was written just for the video. Glad I can watch this instead of a guy screaming at me about something obvious about the game for a 20 second video with an ad on it

Love those videos, you don't see people talking about servers ticks and how the game sees something. Like Moira effect, there's still people thinking it autolocks, when in reality is just an effect, to make the beam a little more natural, and not a simple line like zarya.
With rien and DVA it is goofy, but I kinda like the idea that sigma holding a black hole is actually sending him spinning as he holds onto reality desperately
