I put Pro-Line silcock made by BK Mueller. I put two of these values in 10 years ago and only recent did one starting leaking. However, I called the BK Mueller office and they promptly sent me a FREE replacement cartridge. So, my house water silcocks are both fully functional again. I choose BK Mueller, Pro-Line.
I was certain I had to do this in our last house but it turned out I just need to replace the innards of the valve. Great video.
I was hoping for a review of more then just 2 units. Your point about the drill bit is true, but that doesn't effect the workings of the faucet. I'd much rather rent or borrow a drill bit if the one faucet is better. You seemed to like the HD one even if it was showing problems even before you used it, which doesn't speak very well on had it was designed and made.
Yeah these are frost proof not freeze proof. I've changed several of these over the years. Best way to avoid changing these things is not to leave the hose on during winter and put insulation cup on them. That being said they still might need changed if it's gets really cold.
I know it isn't a "Home Depot" branded faucet. Who is the actual manufacturer?

"Home Depot...Lowe's...Harbor Freight"??? How about a brand name instead of where you bought them? I'd rather know what the manufacturer information than a box store where you purchased yours. Suppose someone either doesn't have a Lowe's, Home Depot or Harbor Freight nearby? Give us the faucet information, not a list of where you shop, bud.

The brand was on the side,one say junk other says crap! Well they should really say that...lol Built to sell at low price point not for higher quality honestly speaking its a fact.
I believe Everbuilt makes the one from Home Depot. Or ... vice versa.
Does anyone know the purpose of the removable plastic cap on top?
It's called a vacuum breaker ...just lets air in so the water can drain out.
My problem is. No water comming out even though whole house has a water nothing was shut off inside but out side hose has not a drop of water coming
So if u can help me out here what could be the problem.

Do you have a public or private water source?
Are you sure you shut-off values is functioning correctly?
Do you have more than one shut-off value going to this silcock (I have two going to each one of my silcocks)?
if it froze and its tube splt when its turned on water flows out the damaged area not the spout on these type units. Very common on these so if left in running position lot of damage can occur inside walls without owners knowing its happeniing, also beware of very low water pressure on one,may be leak in wall too. Water can run out split & spout both if split is small.
Lowes valves by AMERICAN valves m72as are JUNK! Open one up! The stem is an ALUMINUM tube with thread on it that wear out after 2-3 years! That nice shiny fitting under the knob is CHROME PLATED PLASTIC!!!! Old valve was installed in 1987! Lowes lasted 2-3 years MAYBE! Aluminum tube with interrupted thread design is terrible! I have spring water and still thread are dissolved away!
Those are not so good in fact the Lowes as you call it is an American Valve M72AS Just look up reviews on this plated pot metal junker.........the true junk of the industry ! If you want good buy Woodford Model 17,All Brass for the same price point and will last in Commercial applications.

Sorry bud, both are junk. Short life span units,I owned both of these. Woodford is all Ill ever buy after going through so many I learned why Woodford is best. I do gardening a lot so we seen our share of failures. Im still waitinq for my Woodfords to fail,not one has leaked a drop,exellent so far. Just pick a Woodward model up and look it over you'll instantly see its quality and they are USA made btw.
Have to agree on both being "box" store homeowner grade "junk". But, hard to find the Woodford locally.
