How to Fix a Leaky Frost Free Outdoor Faucet. Handle leaks
The freeze-proof faucet can leak from around the handle stem.
I can't find a new faucet rebuild kit and was able to use my own way to fix it.
I used rubber washer from brand new brass hose bibb which cost me $6.

С завода краны идут с графитовыми прокладками. Я их никогда не покупал.
Вам нужно смотреть по вашему крану и искать подходящие.
По английски на сайтах вы можете их погуглить по названиям -
Stem packing washer

There are Teflon cords that can be used for this purpose, I can't believe buying a new valve to get the washer., plumbing stores have the washer
Home Depot doesn't carry Arrowhead parts for some reason, and it the local plumbing store (if you have one) is out of stock or doesn't carry them either, this is a great substitute.

GET RID OF THESE OUTDATED JUNK FAUCETS. Replace them with 1/4 turn ball valve faucets. No o-rings and no gaskets. I replaced everyone of mine many years ago and have not had one leak or drip since. You can get ball valve faucets at any home improvement or hardware.

I live in Michigan, USA. I have all outside 1/4 turn ball valve faucets and have never had a leak or a freeze problem. Old style faucets are nothing but trouble.
You know, I can't install regular valve for the customers. You a homeowner, and you can do it by yourself for any type of valve for your home. But I'm a Handyman service person and must install for my customers by local code frost free valve only.
The purpose of a "freeze=proof" outdoor faucet is to have a product that will endure the winters without bursting or leaking for many years of trouble free service. Everyone I talk to who has installed one of these experiences leaks from the packings or the seals/washers within the first year or two. Then, they can't find a parts repair kit or the individual seals or packings anywhere. Maybe it's just the big box stores that don't carry the parts and want you to buy a whole new assembly. I"m sure any plumbing supply who deals with the plumbing trade would be able to provide the proper seals and packings. So....Did you return the hosebibb to Home Depot (minus the graphite packing) to get your $5.88 back???

You can just get some valve stem packing instead of stripping from it from a perfectly good valve.

I have this exact same faucet. Mine leaks from the handle screw hole and the hole right next to it. Anyone know why and how to fix it?
I've had the whole sillcock apart. All new gaskets and still leaks. It is not coming from the valve stem packing.
Take apart and check how water came to there.
Check whether there is debris or a damaged seat which is preventing the stem from properly sealing.
Do I have to turn of the water from the main if I just want to replace the broken handle

@@eagleabram4016 the easiest way to determine what size you need is turn off the water and take out that spigot rod. there's three rubber bushings. Usually it's just two bushings you need to replace at the tip, unscrew the little Phillips screw one is a 3/8 o-ring and the other one is a thicker cone shape rubber washer on one side. I'm sure the people that work there will help you find what you need. If you want to take the easy route which would cost about $40 is buy a new one and just replace the rods.

Just buy a set of gaskets from HF. It doesn't have every gasket, but I had this exact problem with this same silcock, and the HF kit had this gasket.
