On the 1 hand, I really hope this series gets renewed for a 4th Season since I want to see where the characters and story goes from here. On the other hand, if the series doesn't get renewed at least the story ends on a decent note which is not something many shows can say that wanted/set up 1 more Season but didn't get them.

Yes, but there are many unanswered questions that need to be resolved. What will Lysella do after having abandoned her TH-cam-ish planet? Is something possible that will allow Talla and John to be together? What about Anaya, Ed's daughter with Teleya? Will there be repercussions for Bortus and Klyden abandoning their race? Will the Kaylons race get that procedure that will allow them to gain emotions, and will they discover a method for allowing post-Builder Kaylons like Isaac to process emotions too? How does the Moclan/Krill VS. Union war end? Are Ed and Kelly getting back together officially? With frequent appearances of the use of time travel, would the Union find a way to do it themselves and potentially save Charly's life, and would Ed be willing to violate the natural order to do so (seriously, she died so soon in the series and this WONT be a thing in the future?)?

The song was perfect for the occasion and to end with a emotional roller-coaster ride of a season. It was like Seth saying, "Come on, let's all gather around and relax after the adventure we just had." I like this song so much that I added it to my Amazon music playlist. On a side note: Those white dress uniforms are 🔥🔥🔥🔥

There were some that weren't as good as others, but this was an EXTREMELY strong season for a show we weren't even sure was getting a 3rd season just a few years back... S3 season finale seems to have DS9's "What You Leave Behind" feeling to it. Isaac & Claire are getting married, while others are moving on to do other things (getting promoted, etc). All the loose ties of the series are resolved. But hopefully we'll get a new chapter for the Orville crew afterwards
I know we all want season 4, but I'm so happy they ended season 3 this way if we don't. It closes a lot of storylines and wraps everything up with a happy bow. They obviously wanted more, and there are some loose threads like the aftermath of the Moclun/Krill alliance and Anayah, but still, it's nothing that detracts so hard this can't be a fitting end to the series. I wish more shows that don't get renewed did this with their final episodes. Futurama did, and has several "series" finales that all work beautifully as an end cap but still stand good as episodes of they aren't. If the Orville doesn't ever come back this was a beautifully done send off.

This song came mere moments after the little talk that Kelly had with Lysella about the fact that we cannot be forcefully brought into the future but rather we arrive there gradually. The show is sending us a clear message.

Please, everyone tell everyone you know to watch Orville and get this awesome show to continue for a long time. I never thought it was going to be this great but it is the greatest series I have ever watched. You feel every emotion and then some you did not know you had. Seth MacFarlane you are The Best of the Best. I love all the cast.

I would have loved a new season. But this is honestly the best ending for the show. It also really feels like he meant for it to be the finale. The lyrics were fitting for the finale. The Orville was a lovely ride.
Most viewers don't (or didn't) know that Scott Grimes and Seth MacFarlane are recording artists too. Both have albums. Grimes has two if i recall. Folk easy listing in the James Taylor style MacFarlane has about 10. Mostly retro crooner stuff from Swing, Jazz and romantic Sinatra style from Gershwin to Hammerstein.
The actor is also a recording artist. He's done several James Taylor made famous songs in the past decade. A complimentary voice. You may not know that MacFarlane is too. He specialized in Hit Parade 1940s to 60s crooner recordings. He has about 10 albums in the swing tune set. I'm sure he picked the opening song, he may have sung on it.
They need to distribute it to more networks, Orville was very interesting funny and serious show at the same time, I haven't seen season 3, but from the bits and peaces on TH-cam and other video sharing places I gather it's the best season and very well made show in all aspects which is rare nowadays.
I have truly enjoyed this series. It has been very amusing and yet also very serious at times. What it has been mostly though is thought-provoking. It has been fair and open about ideas and points of view that often conflict, and it has done so in a way that lets the conversation take place. It didn't always or even often offer answers. It just presented the questions fairly...in a way that let them be heard. I don't know if the series will continue or not - I hope it will - but if it doesn't it will still go down as a frontrunner among my favorites. Congratulations to Seth MacFarlane and his cast on a job very well done!
I love how we see Issic learning his own way to love and how Brotus and Klayton showed unconditional love to their daughter and everyone just showed common love to eath other dispite their cultrual differences or their programing they can sit and enjoy the moment.
If _The Orville_ had to end, there's hardly a better note, musical or otherwise, for them to do so. Scott Grimes does James Taylor proud with his rendition of what then would be a 300-year-old song, saluting not just the marriage of Isaac and Dr. Finn, but the crew of the Orville and what they have accomplished. You really just don't beat that with no stick.
Need more Orville! Loved seeing Halston showing up! What I still think needs fixed is how they can know so much 20th/21st century things and some how they didn't know what a cigarette was, despite it being in much of the fiction. :p

If this episode is the series finale not just the season finale it was so strong and satisfying that that would be fine but.. This show has done such a good job of writing and character development that it would truly be a shame if there is not a season 4. For example ensign Burke was a new character developed for this season. She was introduced and made no strong impression. She seemed like a bigoted jerk and I kinda hated the character but in just one season she became a fleshed out rich sympathetic character that we see grow in just 9 episodes and I actually cried a little over her loss but at the same time it was beautiful. She is a sign that these show writers are possibly the best in the business and masters of their craft. If this show isn't renewed it would be a tragic shame but this season was a masterpiece and the season finale was amongst one of the most satisfying finales in television history. Frankly the cast and the writing staff are some of the best in entertainment and they showed it in every aspect of this season. Kudos to them and I hope they find success in their future endeavors no matter what they are.

Frankly the cast and the writing staff are some of the best in entertainment and they showed it in every aspect of this season. Kudos to them and I hope they find success in their future endeavors no matter what they are.
same emotions you felt for ensign Burke I felt as well didn't like her typical jerk by the end I even shed some tears as well for her sacrifice and what she did this is by far my favorite show of all time!

If this is the last season and that was the last episode it was a beautiful way to end. Best final episode since TNG's all good things episode.
