No hate just giving tips for new players, ggs. If and when you survive the first attempt of a Ganker. They will always come back for you. They can't help it. So for a new player, it would be in your best interest to hop and block your way to safety. Though if you feel ready, their second attempt is usually your best chance at killing them. It's when their eagerness makes them falter. When the g...

...This kind of silliness would not be out of place in Battletech.
"Eat that time traveling sandwich and get rid of it, before my headache gets any worse!" - Captain Katherine Janeway -
Star Trek: The Orville/Star Trek: Voyager > Star Drek: Dysentery/Discovery
One of my absolute favorite scenes out of the entire series.
FIVE. HUNDRED. CIGARETTES.

We all figured the roots of the Prime Directive would have had a case study. We got it elsewhere.

You’d think finding out about real Alien life would be a great unifying force among the natives of a planet… I guess not always…
And that is why aliens don't contact us.

All this wisdom and yet she was KELLY
It's like survival of the fittest, applied on a cosmic scale. All sentient races that reach nuclear age without knowing how to apply it properly, will die off before they take on the space age phase. I wonder if the size of the rock we're on is also a factor: a bigger or smaller earth than ours will probably have different timelines as to when overpopulation becomes a problem, before wars get started over resources, and whether the societal "maturity" sets in early enough that it averts the catastrophe that puts the state of the entire planet past the point of no return.
"I have done nothing but teleport bread" but in orville
I would store myself in time, and come out when the world was much better and came much closer to meeting my expectations. As long as there was a sort of window to look and assess the state of the country and world.
five hundred sandwiches
500 sandwiches
1.2 million people watching a time travelling sandwich: Hmm… interesting.
That's a quality brick joke
Hoping Lysella gets a big part in season 4
This was one of the best episodes of season 3 of The Orville. I loved how commander Grayson also explained how the economics of the future had evolved so that people were no longer driven to chase money, but to better themselves and all of humanity. Meet every humans basic needs, provide them with an environment where they can thrive, grow and contribute to society in meaningful ways, and what's impossible? I hope we get there. Don't think I'll live to see it in my lifetime, as we still worship money and power, something so few have, when all our lives could be so much richer acting as a collective. This is a great show. I discovered it late, but was impressed by it all the same. Who would've thought this would come from the guy behind Family Guy?
This show was so good. Except the last season.
The way it's described let's think that they just disembarked there and half-tried to do a sort of uplifting with no actual plan beside making themselve known and letting their technology proliferate. It makes sense to strictly prohibit contact entirely in retaliation, for many reason, most likely unfortunately that it was determined they don't really want to do it. Because "They have to do it on their own" is just evading having to think up a proper uplifting strategy, you can't conclude it's impossible from a failure caused by what sounds like a terrible or total lack of one.
What a terrible show made by a terrible man. Its almost as bad as the show that won't be named that its based on.
so basically, how NY and LA destroyed themselves in 2024 then?
Five. Hundred. Egg Salad Sandwiches.
Gene Roddenberry would be very proud of The Orville.
I clicked because I thought it was related to the boys but then I saw the full title and watched it anyway
Let me guess. A plethora of morons whining about this being “woke.”
all I am hearing is brian from family guy HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA!
Literally me when I got back the mail I sent myself in Animal Crossing.
After watching the entire show on Hulu I’ve wondered if Topa’s crush grew or thanks to him she’ll go for the funny guys
This is still BS. It's not a binary choice. Reveal technology slowly if you must. Interfere. And moreover, this is not necessarily what would happen, especially if the technology was revealed to everyone, which would decentralise power.
In a way, The Orville does a better job than most Star Trek series do in displaying the difficulties with humans seeking an alliance with a different species whose values and culture are very much at odds with them. Klingons and humans seem to get along pretty easily whereas humans and Krill have a much more tense relationship.
Like now on the earth
The funny thing is we had stuff like this IRL, we would probably do small dumb things like this with that super advanced technology
Send future stuff to past so in future will have and send both again to past and so on so forth creating infinite gold
is that Steven Anita Smith
I mean, I would also be happy if a sandwich I sent to the future 3 months ago reapeared successfully.
So much potential! The Orville's version of The Borg. Cold and relentless! 1. If the Krill saws it necessary to warn people about that region of space... I'm just remembering Skin Of Evil. 2. The parasites weren't organized during their attempt to take over the shop but it's shown that they're highly intelligent and better organized. Maybe this form was more primal and there's a more calculated a malevolent version. 3. More practical effects would've been the better option. CGI is good but you can see the difference and it pulls you out of the experience, which I think it to display feelings of dread and significant loss, I mean they were their crew mates and family (some of them should be in tattered uniforms).
Gordon was just hangry.
500 sandwiches
