Great presentation, great insight, great metaphor, great real-life examples, and great food for thought... for those who are seeking answers
This has got to be the most personal, engaging, not-purely-intellectual (ergo, pertinent) TED talk I've heard.
My perception is that this talk would be good for people of all ages, from those starting out to those at any passage of their lives.
I can well understand how fears (e.g., financial fears) can make us avoid committing to dreams or even finding those dreams in the first place. Inspirational, not just informational.
Kudos to the articulate, mild-mannered superhero!

@xthisladyy . He talks about termites, about how they are born and they know what they need to do. And he relates it to us dreamers and says that we should trust and follow our inner instincts. And he says that as we pursue them we should think of ourselves like “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” the caterpillar from the children’s story who “worms” his way through his goals.

@MrsJodyDBW I’m sorry I can’t take the time to write it all out for you, but he’s basically talking about how to achieve our dreams. He is a dreamer and he is talking to the dreamers of the world. He says that unfortunately most dreamers never see their ideas through, because the world gives us so many reasons not to (failures, obstacles, adverse circumstances, etc.) So what he says is that the first thing we need to do is get in touch with our inner instincts.
Am I allowed to use this video in a essay for school? I have to give a brief summary and explain how this could exist if the theme "Following Your Dreams" wasn't there.

And we should “cups and ice” our opportunities, but making the most of any opportunity to achieve our dreams, just like Phoebe did in Friends when she was given the job of being in charge of cups and ice at a party and she made the whole party cups and ice because she did so well with such a small thing.

and to clarify the end point, when we are born our first dream we ever had at birth was to be held and loved, and eventually the ultimate dream we commit to, love and family, is the one that will be the gratifying and fulfilling, so there is really no sacrifice between work and family. It's one big, ultimate dream.
