    A brilliant tutorial and very much appreciated - My control arms in the back are broken and what has happened is that my ride hide has dropped to which i could not understand due to new shocks and springs - bit of a long story - I have a e92 coup 330D Highline M Sport it was originally lowered from the factory. I purchased the car second hand - 97k on the clock - it turned out to be a lemon - but some tender loving and 12k on parts over 5 years it is starting to become my dream car - the video you have excellently put together - has really helped me save £100's because i could not figure out why my car was sitting lower than the same spec car? Most BM's Sag or sit lower on the petrol or diesel the same side as the fuel tank - I was banging my head - literally - the issue until you showed the measurements of the ride Hight 14 inches your ride hide is what i wanted mine to be. No garage explained that if the control arm is shot your car can sit lower - the wheel between the arch is supposed to be let say a 2 or 3 finger gap all the way around - I wish you lived local i would be your top customer - Thanks again -

      @@TheBimmerFixer @spencerhulme1203 just so you know, even if my comment comes 1 year later, I live in rural northern Greece where our ancient city is built on a steep decline and I habitually have to drive on 20-30-45 degree slopes. Your video & comments here have helped me raise the car up a bit, now I don't scrape my front & back bumpers anymore :D

    What were the symptoms?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Hanynowsky first thing I noticed was the handling from the rear of the car. When I went over large bumps or man hole covers the rear would step out and kick to the side. The second was the alignment was off the car just didn't feel right when driving in a straight line. When I did some investigating I noticed a lot of play in the bushings too. Hope this helps.

    Great vdo and very easy to follow 👍 im guessing you need to measure the wheel arch to hub on the front wheels as well.... when doing the arms?

    GREAT video`s , REALLY helpful, could i recommend plusgas INSTEAD of WD40, far better at removing rusty, seized bolts /fixings ect.

    Best way to do the bolts up is to put the car on a set of ramps so the car is resting on its own weight then get under the car and do the bolts up to spec. That’s how I do it and have replace loads of these arms on different bmw

    • @Trinibad718
      @Trinibad718 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is why u do a wheel alignment after😊

      @@Trinibad718 wheel alignment don’t stop the bushes going bad. That’s why I said you have to put car on it’s own weight to do the bolts up.

    Soo let’s say where you Mount it one side snaps… only fix to weld it up?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say it would be safer to replace the rear subframe. The weld would have to be a perfect weld for strength and perfectly aligned so the alignment is correct. If done but a competent welder you may be able to get a temporary fix though.

    My bolt is completely stuck in that control arm bushing

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Radian Miller Hi Radian sorry to hear you're having trouble with that bolt. It's very common for those bolts to get stuck on the e60. Do you have a replacement bolt? Sometimes they are completely rotten and with snap so please be careful if you haven't got a replacement. You can also try some heat on the bolt but be careful the rubber in the control arm likes to burn and catch 🔥 Hope you manage to remove it ok buddy!
