This channel along with a few others really helped me reduce any surprises when I first went to the Philippines. Going again this winter, can't wait

Even as someone who's been to the Pi since o8
This channel is very informative, especially for the first, second timers from USA.
I can tell you that a lot has changed since my first trip lounging on Alona Beach 16 years ago to being in Mindinao last June.
But some things change, more tourists, ex pats, price increases,
And much stays the same! If that makes sense.
With so many islands, you can still find the Philippines of 20 years ago.
    Again great channel Brother Man

Dude I am absolutely blown away by your channel! Your explanations are by far the most concise, nuanced, no nonsense of any I've come across. You leave no questions unanswered. I've always been scared of the Philippines but after sifting through your channel I'm sold on BGC! Thanks so much! I wish more TH-camrs would tell straight facts like you!

If you only have a only a 2 week vacation and you want to get a feel for the Philippines, then
I recommend Cebu City. From Cebu City you are a 2 hour Ocean Jet ferry ride to Bohol / Alona Beach (Panglao Island). From Bohol, you are a 2 hour Ocean Jet ferry ride to Dumaguete / Oslob . From Cebu City if you head north you are a 4 hour drive to the ferry that takes you to Santa Fe on Bantayan Island.

I'm in BGC, for the last couple of months, and spent my first 2-3 weeks in Dumaguete
Starting in Dumaguete, highly overrated! It is much more provincial, and I'm sure most of The Philippines are like Dumaguete, but the infrastructure is not good, the traffic is bad, the park at Rizal Drive is not good. If you never went to Dumaguete, you aren't missing much
BGC, is the opposite, probably underrated. It is loud, noisy, but I'm from Brooklyn, so whatever.
Outside of that, and the fact that there are no parks, or actually anything to do, culturally, it connects on every other expat checkmark. It's much like Tribeca or Midtown, in New York, or Brickell, in Miami. These also are fairly noisy, busy, less than cultural areas, but highly developed, low crime, and Westernized, upscale areas. Recommended.

I'm going to have to take the tourist visa route since they upped the age on the ssrv visa but its worth it until I hit 50 looking at making the move spring 2025 after I finish welding school and save up some cash , also avid outdoor adventure guy ... looking at starting content creation too ... photo background.... would love to pick your brain about any veteran contacts you might have over there. just to line up some things I'm looking at spending 6-8 MThs at a time around Manilla and using it as a SE Asia base camp ...

Hey guys.. if you love women who will be super fun to be with and you don't have to chase, do NOT miss going to Angeles City ... it is truly amazing despite Jasper totally ignoring it ...if you don't go, you are missing the 9th wonder of the world for older foreigners...as for as Boracay, it is over-rated now as you cannot even drink a beer on the beach or even bring a chair on the beach,,, the water and sand are awesome druing the high season (but suck during the rainy season) but no chair, no beer on the beach sucks... but if you do go, he is right... bring a girl...again, DON'T MISS ANGELES CITY guys...it is only 1 and `1/2 hours from Manila airport bia the expressway

First of all the plane ticket don’t cost thousands of dollars I look it up all the time and I can find flights for $900 sometimes cheaper then that and there non stop. The second thing is everyone that is watching you isn’t some old grandpa 🤔🤣ok.The third thing is you make the same mistake as most TH-camrs how could you forget about the Mindanao region which I never been to the Philippines yet but I’ve done a lot of research about the country. And the Mindanao region has to be the best by far to me in my opinion. And even a lot of foreigners that are in the Philippines haven’t explored nor experienced much of Mindanao nor the most southern region of the Philippines.I know areas in the Philippines that don’t even have a name for them and these areas if you haven’t explored them then you haven’t really experienced the Philippines at all.Bgc,angles,Manila,Cebu city and Cebu it park are foreign thirst traps and I’m not just saying it because of the type of Filipina women that you will find in those areas.Im saying it because of all the inflated and over priced condos, houses and over priced food at the corporate franchise restaurants and establishments. And in the southern part of the Philippines this is what I’m so glad of just like the southern region of Thailand you won’t find no mc Donald’s,no Burger King,no jollie bee,no Popeyes no Starbucks no none of that crap. And no foreign investors and not a lot of tourist companies trying to gauge you for money. This is probably why not even the government of the Philippines don’t even advertise the most southern region of the Philippines to foreigners I see why 🤔😅because of how different it is.No they want y’all staying in Cebu,Cebu city, angles, bgc,Manila, makati so they can rip your draws off of you. When I come to the Philippines I will be far away from the metro areas I don’t want no part of it,it’s just to much shady dealings and business practices and with more corporations coming into those areas I wouldn’t be surprised no thankyou,Mindanao it is for me 😊.

personally i think Manila is far superior to Cebu, it doesnt have much going for it.
i did like the trip to Bantayan island to the north of the island
I can see what you're saying about manila dating but keep in mind if you date woman in a high tier of income, then thats going to come with generally a different mindset, whether westernized or even uppity if thats the correct word for it
doesnt mean dating isnt possible but, id say personally dating woman in more common areas can be much better if you find a good woman raised well.

To each their own, if you’d like province girls, and you want to financially support a woman and get demands from her family go for it. They’re certainly more agreeable because they desperately need you.

Metro Manila or just Manila is better as a tourism protect. They are both major cities. Might as well choose the one with the prestige of being of called the Capital City. It was once called Paris of the East and it was worthy of the tittle. I used to prefer Cebu, thinking it was more laid back. But in reality, it is as hectic, crowded, and tiring. Quiapo is more charming than Carbon or was that Coron, the downtown.
